My computer failed to install an update halfway through the process and kept giving me a "stopcode" message. I dropped my computer off and explained my problem. Lane diagnosed the problem and installed the upgrade directly in the shop. The charge was nominal and he did not try to upsell me on a new computer. After trying in vain to get my laptop fixed in Indiana, I came back to my mom's house and decided to look for a local repair place. My family had had a negative experience years back with this business but everything I'd read on line hadn't alerted me to any red flags and I really wanted to avoid having to buy a new laptop since the type I wanted seemed to be nonexistent. It turned out that John thought he had a screen that would fit (unfortunately it didn't) and the price was in line with what I expected. While repairing my screen, John said that one of the video connectors was also messed up so I needed a new motherboard. Fortunately, the quoted price didn't change and I was able to get this laptop back sooner than I feared I would. He was also kind enough to add more memory to the computer since the hard drive had almost none & was able to save the documents I'd had on my system before things got messed up.
