The last time I used their services was…read morein 2022 after I had been being cyber bullied and my computer and WiFi hacked for nearly a year while I was renting a senior apartment from Knoxville Community Development Corporation (KCDC) in Knoxville. I already knew KCDC was involved. They have a reputation for going to extremes to target and retaliate against residents, and I had filed HUD complaints against them. When I brought my computer into Computer Depot, the manager/owner looked at me with eyes as big as saucers. I felt intuitively that something was not right. I gave them my computer and asked them to wipe the hard drive and reload my programs to get rid of the malware. When I came back to pick up my computer, I found that they had disabled my Secure Boot and installed a program that allowed them to come and go from my computer system, but also left an open door for the hackers. That was like a big clue that KCDC had hired them as "black hats" to facilitate their cyber harassment and surveillance, which included turning my apartment neighbors against me and encouraging them to harass and surveil me. Two attorneys who reviewed my screen shot evidence warned me that KCDC might be setting me up for a criminal indictment. I will never use Computer Depot again.

That made me want to support them even more because this is a local homegrown business. Their prices and speed are extremely competitive too. I had my iPhone X screen and battery repaired/replaced for $150. My daughter's iPhone 6 got a new screen for $55 and her iPad 6 screen was replaced for $100. I know the parts are aftermarket and probably not the same quality as true OEM. But, if you are replacing parts on a phone, why pay top dollar? At that point, it makes sense to just get a new one. I certainly don't like paying for repairs to my devices. But, if you need it, this is the place. Since the staff seem to be vested in the business, they really care. Definitely better than the mall kiosks and other repair shops. Only unusual thing is their storefront is in an office complex down a long interior hallway. I assume it's because the rent is low and they got a lot of space cheaply. But, just know that it's not your usual "retail" location storefront. Overall -- Highly recommended.

I was worried that a screen replacement on a note might make the stylus less responsive, but it works like I just bought it! Long pilgrimage short, she uses an iPhone4 to swipe credit cards for her business. The swiper is not like others that plug into any device. It is fit to a specific device (an iPhone 4 in this case). As we are forever tied together in matrimonial bliss, my Chi got tangled up in this Four Alarm Conundrum. Herein lies the rub ... the old iPhone is used via WiFi. It's technically no longer a phone. It is used merely to submit credit card & debit card transactions. So, now we have a device that is totally worthless but it has to be replaced with an iPhone 4. And no stinkin way am I payin full retail for a glorified iPod Touch. Of course the device dying and Mrs R. not being able to run charges is all my stinkin' fault! I mean, NATURALLY!! He was extremely knowledgeable (which is great b/c I'm tech deficient). I never felt like the idiot I am. They seem to have a wide selection of phones and smart devices. They buy, sell and trade the devices. I would encourage any & all to stop in if you need this service. As a side note, I was very impressed with something that happened when I was in the store waiting for my device to charge. A man came in wanting to sell his smart tablet. He had pulled up to the store with 2 other people in a dirty ass $300 jalopy that was on its last leg. It was quite apparent that they were all 3 hard up for cash. It was a very cheap unit, probably $59 at a box store. It came used and without ink, so we had to buy the cartridges. The printer didn't work they directed us to other cartridges, we bought those the printer still did not work. Now we are in $79 for an initial fee and over $100 in ink cartridges. They said they would come to our house, no more than two blocks from their office. They cancelled at the last minute due to a forecast of rain??? They rescheduled, didn't show. They rescheduled again and didn't show. Now they no longer respond to email inquiries. I am planning, if no response to this complaint, to file one with the Better Business Bureau.
