The person running this shop has an attitude that makes it seem like customers are an inconvenience instead of the reason the business exists. Every question was met with arrogance, disrespect, and a condescending tone, as if I should feel grateful just for being spoken to. And to top it all off the belt they put on that I paid $200 for ended up coming off so I had to go to another repair shop so they could ACTUALLY fix it. What's even more disappointing is that he's known my family for years, and it clearly didn't matter. Loyalty means nothing here. Instead of treating a paying customer with basic respect, he acted like he was doing me a favor by taking my money. He loves reminding everyone that he's been doing this for 33 years. If that's true, then after three decades you'd think he would've learned how to talk to people. Experience doesn't excuse a terrible attitude, it makes it less understandable. Skill means very little when customers leave feeling disrespected. Save yourself the frustration and take your vehicle somewhere that actually values your business. There are plenty of mechanics who can fix a car without making you regret walking through the door.

Manager,…read morepresumably Mr. Davenport although never did he give a name, informed me I needed a simple gasket replacement, showing me the gasket needing replaceed in my engine. Indeed it is a simple one and I could even have done myself but I figured, hey, I'd rather a professional do it... I so much wish I knew then that this guy is a long way from a professional!! he told me to come back in a few hours and it will be done. So I came back after those few hours and he said it was done, but somehow housing had broken near the gasket (I suspect this occurred in the botched work done) and he charged me for replacing as well as the gasket and Labor. Turns out, the gasket wasn't even replaced. I drove off and less than 15 miles from the shop, my engine is overheating. I pull over, pop the hood, oil has sprayed throughout my engine compartment along with radiator fluid all over the place. i then discovered in my next 18 hours spent sitting around town rather than continuing on my journey, Davenport is not a respected repair shop in Craig County. It is, though, a truck rental shop... Seems highly coincidental I find myself without a working vehicle after he worked on my car and could then be needing to rent something such as a truck...
