Instead of turning us away, they offered us a free glass of champagne instead of their normal tasting. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio and my kids got a couple snacks from the deli. It is so beautiful there with a view of vineyards towards the road or the big trees and vines towards the buildings.

It was our first time at this winery, and we came for a tour and tasting. Let me start off with the good, the tour was well put together and our tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. The tasting was great, with surprisingly generous pours! Which was wonderful. After the tour, we visited the deli and the food was very yummy with a decent amount of portion sizes for the price. For the tasting however, that's where the bad experience happened. We were having such a wonderful time, until we got a woman named Alayna. She seemed like she was in a bad mood, had a bad attitude towards us, made us feel rushed, corrected the way we "tallied" our choices on the tasting menu, and was extremely off-putting with little condescending comments. Other than that experience, we enjoyed our time. We would come again, and just dodge her in the future if we saw her in the tasting room.

We love Boon! We have been going to boon for years and it holds such a special place in our hearts…read more It's often a place where we gather for date nights, anniversary dinners and special occasions!! We cannot recommend Boon enough for anyone who may be traveling in or even locals who are looking for a locally owned restaurant. Their menu changes often and it is always a joy to see what new dishes they have each time we dine in. Their staff is incredible and the servers are great at making suggestions. The best of the best!!

As someone who has been coming here very frequently for 10+ years and called this my favorite…read morerestaurant, I have to say i'm super bummed by the changes with the chef and menu. Not only were staple long-term vegetarian dishes removed from the menu (polenta lasagna), those that remained were absolutely butchered. The vegan bowl used to be fresh produce from the garden with an incredible sauce that had depth, now it is a tasteless $28 vermicelli bowl that a child could throw together in under 5 min.. Extremely over-fried tofu, no sesame ginger sauce to be found and just a dollop of chili oil on 1/10th of the noodles. The cauliflower appetizer was completely bland and it was very unclear whether it was supposed to be raw or cooked.. We come here (often bringing friends with us excited to share the spot), because it's always been consistently amazing and a good balance of meat and veg options, but it doesn't feel like the new chef is concerned with pleasing the veg customers (though even the presentation on the meat/fish dishes we saw looked messy and unappetizing compared to the past). We gave feedback (out of care/concern, not as "karens") to those who know us there and are hopeful that they'll be heard. We're going to give boon another chance in a few weeks, but i'm not feeling too hopeful after being told we aren't the only regulars feeling the effects of the kitchen changes.

The weather is perfect, you're on the river, and on both sides surrounding you are tons (literally) of BBQ to be eaten and kegs of beer to be emptied. There's music, revelry and a lot of satisfied bellies all around you. It's definitely an experience to take in. We had a bit of a logistical hiccup getting in, and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the Mad Scientist BBQ (winner from last year) but there's always next year. And with that being said, I sampled at least 8-10 other very legitimate BBQ teams serving some of the best ribs and chicken I've ever had. If you are fortunate enough to secure a ticket for this event next year I recommend a couple things: -Get a beer lanyard for $5 (they are super helpful) -Come with an empty stomach -Eat first, then drink. The food runs out before the beer. -Bathroom lines can be tough, try to go to the less obvious Porto locations That's it, see you next year Stumptown!

It was delish but I forgot to take a photo. We started with pork belly tacos and fried ravioli. Both were outstanding but those ravs and dipping marinara are making my mouth water even now! My husband had the chop, my youngest the salmon and my other son and I had the chicken. Wow, wow wow! That pounded out chicken was juicy on the inside while the crust was crispy and not at all greasy. The mash was handmade and that Texas gravy? Your Memaw would be speechless! It was hands down the best white gravy I've ever had. My husband gave me a bite of his chop and it was sinfully delish! My son with the salmon barely spoke during the meal as he thoroughly enjoyed his dish. To top off this wonderful dining experience, the owner gave my husband and I a nice bottle of local wine and bought my son's drinks when we informed him that our youngest son was leaving for the Army that Sunday. He spoke to my other son in great length about culinary arts and truly made us feel at home. Please, if you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop into this gem of a restaurant. The staff and owner were awesome, food is off the hook good and the patio is just beautiful. They are hoping to open the restaurant floor this fall.
