I must post this review from my Covid file! Because I love Champagne. Just came upon it…read more Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles! What a fun stop at Korbel Champagne Cellars! Located in Guernville and the beautiful Russian River region... Korbel is world famous for its Champagnes. Started in 1882 and still going strong. As of April they are again offering tastings of their many California Champagne varieties currently produced onsite. And at very reasonable prices! Or why not purchase a bottle and sit under the beautiful redwoods to sip and enjoy on their peaceful deck. We chose the later. But first a visit to the Korbel deli just steps away. I appreciated the social distancing by allowing only so many people in at a time. An what a deliciously, large inventory of food from which to choose! So many sandwiches made to order. A deli case stocked with fresh salads, olives, cheeses and more. Desserts that looked soooo good! If you find yourself in the famous Sonoma county "wine" country... do not miss Korbel!

The visit was entertaining and informative. The start of the tour begins at the restored train station for a short intro and historical perspective. The tour guide moves the group to the original winery building (no longer used for production). The group watches an hour long movie on the history of Korbel starting out with the family immigrating to the USA from Bohemia, cigar making, moving from the east coast to San Francisco, moving to Guerneville, cigar box making, logging, building a railroad to the logging operation, growing crops, growing grapes and the production of sparkling wine. And the story of the only American sparkling that can call itself champagne. The tour moves thru the cellar with its original barrels built in place and other memorabilia. The tour ends with a glass of sec, a champagne only served and sold at the winery. We learned about the different grapes used as well as the dosage to determine the level of sweetness. We also learned about riddling and the Korbel's invention of an automatic riddling machine. After the tour, we moved to the tasting room where you get 3 pours for $15. There were 3 of us in our group so we tried 9 different champagnes of varying sweetness. Then on to the retail store before ending up in the deli for a noshe to fortify us for the drive back to our lodging. Staff at the winery were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The weather is perfect, you're on the river, and on both sides surrounding you are tons (literally) of BBQ to be eaten and kegs of beer to be emptied. There's music, revelry and a lot of satisfied bellies all around you. It's definitely an experience to take in. We had a bit of a logistical hiccup getting in, and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the Mad Scientist BBQ (winner from last year) but there's always next year. And with that being said, I sampled at least 8-10 other very legitimate BBQ teams serving some of the best ribs and chicken I've ever had. If you are fortunate enough to secure a ticket for this event next year I recommend a couple things: -Get a beer lanyard for $5 (they are super helpful) -Come with an empty stomach -Eat first, then drink. The food runs out before the beer. -Bathroom lines can be tough, try to go to the less obvious Porto locations That's it, see you next year Stumptown!

Great selection of breweries from up and down the coast. Live music is playing all day long, and after the Fest...all night long up above at Stumptown Brewery with Impossible Elvis. Big thanks to Peter fer Putin' all this together. Cheers!

Not inviting so we sat at a high boy in the darkened bar, which was much nicer. I'm sure it's beautiful to sit on the balcony in the summer on warm nights. We chatted with the German owner who was doubling as a bartender, who was very nice. We loved the German influences in the bar, as we had just been to Oktoberfest in Munich. The owner's daughter Sarah runs the kitchen. My husband had a pork tenderloin schnitzel "Vienna style" ($20) and I had a jaegerschnizel with mushroom gravy ($20) and both were excellent. We split the potato pancakes (two with sour cream and apple sauce, $12) which were served crispy but tasty. They had a nice German beer and wine list. We finished with a delicious apple strudel to complete a lovely meal. I recommend this restaurant for tasty dinners in a unique venue.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and while we knew there would be a breakfast, we had no idea it would be so extensive and wonderful. I will look forward to staying here again in the future!

It was delish but I forgot to take a photo. We started with pork belly tacos and fried ravioli. Both were outstanding but those ravs and dipping marinara are making my mouth water even now! My husband had the chop, my youngest the salmon and my other son and I had the chicken. Wow, wow wow! That pounded out chicken was juicy on the inside while the crust was crispy and not at all greasy. The mash was handmade and that Texas gravy? Your Memaw would be speechless! It was hands down the best white gravy I've ever had. My husband gave me a bite of his chop and it was sinfully delish! My son with the salmon barely spoke during the meal as he thoroughly enjoyed his dish. To top off this wonderful dining experience, the owner gave my husband and I a nice bottle of local wine and bought my son's drinks when we informed him that our youngest son was leaving for the Army that Sunday. He spoke to my other son in great length about culinary arts and truly made us feel at home. Please, if you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop into this gem of a restaurant. The staff and owner were awesome, food is off the hook good and the patio is just beautiful. They are hoping to open the restaurant floor this fall.
