Fish and Chips!
Jacque B.

I was traveling up from LA and love this part of CA. It takes you straight up to Avenue of The Giants. I stayed in a place down the street which was pretty nice. However, I was shocked by my food. It was really delicious. The salad and dressing were fresh (no wilted greens or bland dressing). The best part was the fish and chips. They were really delicious! I grew up in the PNW and it has the best fish and chips, hands down. However, this place was right in line with their freshness and it was prepared with the perfect amount of crunch. You will not be disappointed!

Fried mushrooms and crab cakes,

Great service, bird's eye view of downtown, delicious food in a quaint, small town atmosphere.

I came here for my Birthday with about 9 friends. We had made a reservation and it was not busy on A Friday night in June. The owner (fun fact - he is 7' tall!!) takes great pride in his restaurant, and it shows. He wants his drinks and his food to be the best. We ordered the deep fried ravioli (MOLTON HOT!) and we all ordered cocktails...which were HUGE! I had read the reviews about the chicken fried chicken and that it was enormous (all the portions here are hefty), and I decided to split it with my hubby - we struggled to finish it. It was really good and the green beans that came with it were a surprise too. I tried someone's meatloaf, very good, and one of my favorites at the table were someone's sweet potatoes with ginger (stealing that recipe). No one got the pork chop - which I would like to have tried The owner brought out a lemon curd dessert for my birthday that was super tart and a nice finish to the meal. The total for 9 of us (all with a cocktail or 2) was very reasonable about $400 without tip. I will go back, and recommend to others!

Four of us ate dinner here while visiting Guerneville the last weekend in July'. Our food was infected with e coli all four of us were sickened by our meals. Hospitalized. Attempts to communicate this were rebuffed and ignored. Complaints are being filed to the health department. Eating here caused 30,000 in medical bills for four people, who were severely sickened with symptoms including diarrheaa vomiting, stomach pains, body aches. We all required stay in hospital. Due to those symptomsa The "Owner, waiter dishwasher" hovered over our tables during the meal, sitting down as if he were an invited guest. He kept begging us for a positive yelp review. We must admit he was charming at first,. But when he did not get our signal that we we wanted to talk amongst ourselves he was a bit of a nuisance. The chicken fried steak got us so sick it was horrifica The food took a long while to get to our table. It was infected with e coli. The table was dirty when we got to it. Garbage overflowing with flies and maggots near our table was very repugnant. This place is a disaster. A letter to the health inspector is sent a week ago We look forward to their looking into this mattera A formal complaint is issued to the health inspector. Eat at your own risk. A several adays severely I'll, missed work, hospital bills for an overpriced poorly executed meal, maggots crawling out of the garbage, rats running around their garden. The bussing tray stacked over the garbage. Utterly disgusting. Worst meal we ever had! Doug Roseman, Micheal DeMolay,. John Skowronski, Dr. Curtis Scribnera A A Do not eat here!

We had a wonderful dinner at Timberline tonight. The food was the bomb. Awesome prime rib and meatloaf. The fried zucchini was yummy too. Well worth it.

I cannot say enough about this food! Unbelievably delicious! They somehow take comforting favorites and take to the next level, and nothing beats picking up a full meal on Sundays. I can't recommend it enough!

The owner's are adorable and came to check on us and chat with us for a good long while. We got the riblets (they were only $5 tonight!) soooo good, we licked the bowl clean. Leaving one or two wasn't an option they were so good. For dinner I got the catfish sandwich with a side of red beans and rice. My husband got the catfish plate with collard greens and black eyed peas. For dessert, we took home ( because we couldn't fit anymore food in) pecan pie and beignets. Everything from the decor, to the service, to the food was charming. My stomach can be a little sensitive to fried food but I was feeling fine. High quality good New Orleans recipes. The bathrooms are kept very clean and single room; men's and women's. We'll definitely be back!

Like a family potluck because some of the food items were amazing like the hush puppies, ribs and hot links. Other items- like the Mac and cheese- left quite a bit to be desired. The restaurant itself was very on theme as far as I could tell, I'm from the East Bay so I don't know a lot about Jook Joints. Otherwise no outside seating which is understandable given their location. I wish them the best and will add them to my list of must visits when I come back!

We started with the beet salad and burrata salad. I don't eat cheese so we got the cheese on the side for the beet salad - and it was delicious with the pea sprouts and light dressing. My son and husband also really enjoyed the burrata salad. For my entree I had the burger and fries. The fries were a bit soft for my liking, but the burger was good. My son really liked the halibut on a bed of corn hash? We forgot what the menu described the corn as, but my son loved the corn kernels with the corn "hash" under it. He probably would have licked the bowl clean if we were at home. Overall a solid meal, and we may return tomorrow if we can get in early enough to not need to wait.

Embarrassingly for Marin, only two restaurants made the list--including Lou's. It definitely lives up to its reputation. First, yes, it takes calling often! If you can't get through, don't despair. At 6:15 when I picked up my order, people were still able to walk up and order, although only a few entree choices were left. Everything we had was just so flavorful. The fried chicken was the favorite, rhen the beef birria. But the fried shrimp (which was pretty spicy!) and herby roast chicken was also delicious.

First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon.
