He had specific testing equipment to accurately measure different aspects of our pool's chemistry, and then to see exactly how to treat it to bring it into safer ranges. This was not being done with our previous service, so our chems were way off. Over the next 24-36 hours, he executed a plan to remediate the chemistry of our pool. And it worked! He spent another hour here cleaning and assessing hardware so we have an idea what will be done moving forward. Now I have peace of mind. Bob himself is knowledgeable and courteous. I really enjoyed collaborating with Ivan on our project as we discussed usability, functionality and practicality. We added 2 benches, reduced the depth of the deep end and opted for a radiant (glass beads and abalone shells) finish pebble. It's gorgeous! Our prior remodel done 10 years ago was by one of the local businesses who might stop by from time to time during construction but never would communicate directly. If there was an issue, it was too much trouble to bother asking for a resolution. It was the exact opposite of this experience with iPools. Ivan went above and beyond during all phases of the remodel--most notably when he made sure the slope of our existing pool was corrected during the shotcrete stage. That wasn't a request that we would have even known to make. Additionally, Ivan has a great working relationship with the construction crews involved in building a pool. This makes such a difference as, again, the dynamic was so different this time around being a much more pleasant and respectful environment for all involved. I'm very grateful to have had this positive experience as I truthfully dreaded the construction phase. It's quite nice to have an ongoing business relationship as I know once the original pump or heater goes out, that Ivan will get it handled asap. There's never been an upsell of any equipment that we don't need or want. It's like we have a pool consultant now as part of our pool service. At the beginning I thought most of the service provider will be off on the weekend and I have to left a voicemail. Guess what? Mr Walt picked up the phone and went over all the issues we have during the conversation. Surprisingly he took immediate action and came to our house on the same day! He checked the existing equipment and texted me all the details including all the parts we need to replace plus the labor associate with each item. He is very knowledgeable on what he is doing and he came to our house again on the next day to replaced all the broken parts. He took pictures and videos to send over to my cellphone so that I can confirm the pool is working perfectly after his service. Most important part is the price was very reasonable and I didn't even negotiate the invoice. Moreover, he addressed all the potential issues that our pool may have and provide the options to me. Since I will sell the property soon I don't want to spend that much money on "remodel" or "rebuild" the pool as long as it works properly. Him and I had a good working relationship. I can't say the same about my new tech as he doesn't speak english and the new manager won't facilitate a way for us to communicate. It was just discovered that my conditioner was at zero, so chlorine wasn't sticking around. Compound that issue with some other ones, such as rain, and it's a recipe for a perfect storm. I'm generally pretty laid back, but I expect good communication. What happened next is what let me know I was ready to move on. Things go wrong. It happens and I'm usually very understanding, but the new owner/manager refused to give me a phone call so we can remedy the situation. She then sends me a wall of text. I ask her to call me again and she sends me an even bigger wall of text. I felt like I was in a fight with my highschool girlfriend. The kicker is that she is blatantly incompetent. It wouldn't even be that bad, but she is also incredibly unreasonable. I know she has a lot going on in life right now as other reviewers have mentioned, but not taking ownership of a problem, trying to gatekeep communication, and treating customers this way is obviously not the right way to run a business.
