Bought a Groupon yesterday for large area hair removal which means full face. Messaged them and got an appointment for next day within an hour of the time that I requested. They sent me clear instructions on where to park and how to find their office, which made it very easy to find. I arrived 15 minutes early assuming I had to fill out paperwork, which I did, they fit me in about 10 minutes early and I was out before my scheduled time. I have not had Laser Hair Removal in 10 years and the process has drastically improved since then. It is completely painless and significantly faster. Do not go to this place! They upsell everything! I went for Botox & the girl persuaded me I needed more than I had pre-paid for. I was also supposed to get a facial. The facial couldn`t be done that day, so they wanted to book it for another day. A few days after the botox my eyelids were so low down I couldn`t even put on mascara! This wasn`t my first botox session, so I was horrified. I paid $300 to look ridiculous. I sent them a photo & they gave me some waffle about me needing to give it 7 days! Holly Holly Holly has this incredible touch. I got a peel which I tell you was a bit painful. I wish I could have, would have kept it on longer but my forehead felt like it was going to fry off. She was so sweet and held a fan to my face and tried to make me as comfy as possible, massaged my head to help get me through it. I came back for a facial and I tell you, she is amazing. I think I could lay there for hours and have her massage my face and neck and shoulders. Her bed is incredibly comfortable too. Its warm. It is hard to find in this building, or at least it was for me and this other customer when I first had to find it. We got lucky, walked thru the building on bottom floor and came out to the courtyard and there it was! They do botox there too and I believe massages. Small, quaint, quiet space. There are definitely some mixed reviews on this place and I'm going to add to your confusion fellow Yelpers. Getting a first appointment from this place is like finding the 40th floor in Las Vegas Hotel.....there's a slim to none chance you'll find it. However, once you get "in" you'll probably like the laser treatments. (and by like I mean appreciate that they work) Don't expect chit chat, don't expect a lush waiting area, just expect to get in and out quick for a reasonable price. You can always make your next appointment before you leave (which I highly recommend) and you're good to go. You may or may not get a grunt or smile from Ann, but that's okay. You can get a hug from your loved ones when you get home. All in all, I like this place because it works. I'm writing this post not because the services were bad but because I was misinformed about the severity of the facial I received from Holly. The positives are that she was very kind, didn't try to oversell product, the location was beautiful, and the overall results seem to be going well. However, I was told that I was getting a low-level chemical peel that would not cause any discoloration, and the results for the first week were drastically different. Firstly, my face burned in certain areas for over an hour after I left, leading me to believe that she might not have neutralized the acid properly, especially since she told me it would only burn for maybe ten minutes. My face was swollen and pink the first night, and the next day had dark brown streaks all over it. Over the next four days, the dark brown crust peeled off, and it wasn't until day six that I felt comfortable leaving my house. I understand that some types of peels can have these intense effects, but when I asked Holly before I scheduled the appointment if my face would be red or brown, she told me no. She said that the first two days typically look normal and on days 3-6 the skin show signs of change. The picture I am attaching is of my cheek on the first day after the peel. When I showed her the photo because I was worried that something went wrong, she told me that I got an amazing peel and I must have sensitive skin. The problem is that I asked about discoloration before the appointment and was NOT told that it could happen. It caused me great concern for the first couple of days and I had to take time off of work unexpectedly. Even if this is not common for a 30% glycolic peel, it is important that people are informed that it is possible that severe discoloration can occur. read more

I didn't actually end up buying treatments here, and based on the reviews below, I am thankful I didn't! Apparently they are running another Groupon deal, and I had some questions about the type of laser machine they use, scheduling, etc. I've tried calling numerous times and it goes straight to voicemail each time. Honestly, I am not interested in getting into a game of phone tag, voicemails, etc. when every competing business answers on the first ring and is happy to answer questions and schedule appointments when I am free to give them a call. Coming from someone in sales, here are my words of advice to MD Skin: sending potential clients to voicemail is a great way to lose business. Worst customer service I've ever received anywhere!! I purchased a Groupon for a set of laser treatments. I called their voicemail line, texted their appointment line, and sent an email through their website over the course of 2+ weeks and I still had not heard back from this company. The last thing I want is a company who doesn't talk to their potential customers to preform a laser treatment on me. Luckily I was able to receive a refund from Groupon so I wouldn't be stuck waiting for a call or receiving treatments from a business that treats their customers this way. I still can't believe that this company would not return calls from potential clients that want to give them money. Terrible business practice because other spas have receptionists that pick up right away to help and they will be getting all of my laser business now. read more

I want to first point out that I really enjoyed the actual laser techs - I just don't care for how this business is run. It did prove to be hard to get ahold of Anne sometimes; and at first she'd automatically send me new appointments via email but when it came down the last 3 I had to reach out to her and say hey "isn't it time? Can we make my next appt?" She was there the first time I went in (at least I presume that's who it was) to greet and meet but then I never saw her there after that. It's like the business ran itself in a way, you just walk in at your time and the tech comes out and brings you in. It just all felt a bit weird and impersonal. They finally pumped up the laser strength on the last couple of appointments but at that point it felt a bit too late. The results weren't as stellar as I'd hoped. I got a Groupon for this place. I called a couple of times to schedule an appointment and did not get an answer but I did not leave a message either. I went to the website and left a message that way. I was texted a response the next day, Saturday. She scheduled an appointment for three of us for Tuesday. Just use the website to contact them and you will have no problem. I wish they put a copy of the waiver they need you to fill out on the website so I didn't have to waste as much of the technician's time. Bought copon on a groupon, had 6 appointment one on a month. Arrived on the time for all of them, asking for waiting about 15min or more to get my treatment session on each of them. Today was my last time, i arrived on the time again, there was another women that also waited, she was after me on the schedule , but the nurse took here first instead of me. This place is terrible with customer service. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and Botox. The facial was good but the Botox nurse is the worst in the business. She tried to up sell an additional 10cc and the injection caused my eyebrow to spike up leaving it look comical. I contacted them regarding the spike and was told via text that it would be an additional $9.00 per cc to correct. I have had Botox done before and have never had this problem. I did not receive a phone call to discuss but only text. I asked for the medical director to call me back and no one called. Do not use their services. They are terrible. read more

Love love love! I had a ONE Hour facial and 10 units of Botox for a hundred bucks! What??? Yeah that just happened! It's not my birthday or anything. Even better the Botox is on point. Not diluted down like other places. My freaking one hour facial included a hand, arm, neck and head massage. The massage table had a heating blanket and I felt so cozy. Pretty much as other reviews have stated already, hard to slim chance of getting an appt. Also, as Kirsten said in a review, this place is inexpensive and has good pricing but not good for the high maintainance type of person. I bought a Groupon for 6 sessions on my underarms. It is nice and clean and the nurses I haven't had any issues with. I have also seen good results. I always show the nurse though how far I want her to laser as far as border so that no spots are missed whichever company i use (someone mentioned that many spots were missed). The only thing that is their downfall is the scheduling and availability of scheduling. They don't have Fridays or Mondays or weekends for laser treatments. I did however figure out the best way to get scheduled. Premake the appt when you are there and/ or message 1 (858) 353-6278. She usually responds pretty quickly this way. read more

Anne ROCKS! She's super sweet and handles her Groupons like a champion. I've done the whole package and OMG. I've got so little hair under my arms that it's amazing having to only to shave once a month. Anne will squeeze you in. I texted her on a Sunday and she got me an appointment the next day! The nurse is AMAZING. Super caring and is great at what she does. She's very skilled and fast too. I'm happy to say it was the best birthday present ever..to myself. Oh and it is a little confusing your first time going in there. It's on the 3rd floor but you enter the building on the 2nd. I received a Groupon for my birthday and have called/texted/messaged 7 times in 2 months and no one has returned my messages. What a waste!

I started with chin laser hair removal here that I bought with a groupon and had an okay experience over the fall and winter with such a small area, it was quick and I was in and out of that place. I then signed up for a lower leg package of 6, including knees which was a little extra, the next summer. The technician​, I'll call her "V", kept missing spots on my legs, I would have to pay close attention to what she was doing and chime in with - "you forgot the back side of my right calf" and she would say oops and go over the area. She often forgot to do my knee area, even though I had paid extra for that section, and I assume it would be on the chart she would check for what I was getting as I came in the room. I would remind her to do the knees and she would respond, "Oh, most people don't do knees so I forget to do them." Again, I don't really care what most people do, please review and remember whats on my chart and what I signed up for. One time she had just purchased a new iPod for herself and asked if I minded if she listened to music while she did my legs. I said okay, only because I felt awkward saying "no, please pay attention to what you are doing". She missed so much area, but had her headphones in so I had to wave at her to get her attention and ask her to go over the areas she had missed. Clearly was having a hard time paying attention. On another occasion, she answered a phone call during my appointment. On top of all of that, during the summer, there appears to be no AC in the laser room, so it gets incredibly hot, even though they have rigged up several fans and a vent through the ceiling tiles. During several​ appointments that summer, the machines would overheat, she would have to turn everything off​ and wait 5-10 minutes for the equipment to cool down so she could start again. Maybe that's part of why she could never remember what area she had covered on my legs. One summer day it was about 100+ degrees in that room, the window was open to try to let air in, but it was 90+ degrees outside so it wasn't​ helping. I was dripping sweat and getting laser on my legs. Pretty awful experience. Then the machine would overheat and quit, and I would have to sit there. That day, the machine never cooled down and after 15 minutes I said:​ "I have to leave, but I would like to get an extra session added onto the package of 6 I purchased since my legs were only partially done today." Luckily they said okay to that. When it came time for that 7th session. She forgot to do my knees again. I could hardly believe it​ since that was the section I came in specifically for. Now a year later, there are patches of hair that never got removed on random spots on my lower legs and knees due to the inefficient methods at this place. It was $550 for the package, maybe cheaper than other places, and now I know that was too good to be true. Don't get lured in by a seemingly competitive price, the results and experiences are not good. read more

Heard so much great results from my friends who live in LA and Orange County so I had to finally take the plunge. First time for any laser treatment. I found MD Skin on Groupon and gave it a shot and so glad I did. I called the business which is a message line only but a number is also given for you to text for an appointment which I did on a Thursday evening and I received a text back Friday morning from Anne and set up an appointment for the following Monday. I was a little nervous since I've never had anything like this done and didn't know what to expect, but the whole procedure was less than 5 minutes. I've learned that there are different types of laser machines. They have an attachment that blows out very cold air as you're being treated.
