I know I am in the minority here as far as reviews, and I went to 424 Dermatology based on other 5-star Yelp reviews alone. But I am extremely unhappy with the results and unprofessional treatment I received and feel compelled to write this review. I first made an appointment with Nellie to get a consultation on fillers. My daughter was to be married in a few months and I just wanted to look a little more refreshed in pictures. My first appointment was scheduled for 4:30pm, and I left work (about 9 miles away) at 3:30 so I would be early. As luck would have it, I ran into stand-still traffic, completely stopped for miles, on the 56 due to an accident. At about 4:15 I called the office to let them know my GPS showed I would be there 5 min late, at 4:35. I was immediately told by the receptionist that I would have to reschedule then, that they had another 'appointment' immediately after mine and they could not give me any leeway even though I explained I had already sat in traffic for 45 min when it should have been a 15 min. drive. As the receptionist is telling me I need to reschedule, I heard Nellie in the background saying 'well, if its just gonna be 5 min than have her come in'. I asked the receptionist if my appointment would be rushed in any way, due to my being 5 min. late, because if it would be rushed I would rather reschedule. I was told it would not be rushed, injections are usually 10 min appointments anyway, so to proceed to come in. When I got there, instead of fillers that I initially went in for, Nellie sold me on getting Sculptra instead. She said instead of filler it is rather an injection that builds up your own collagen and is a better and more long lasting approach. Although the price was more than I would have spent on fillers, I agreed, (feeling rushed to make a decision), was injected, paid and was pretty much rushed out of the office. It turns out the 'appointment' they had immediately following mine was a hair appointment that Nellie had. I was not given ANY information whatsoever on after care, just another appointment to come in a month or so later to follow up. When I got home and read about Sculptra online, I was shocked to read the area treated should be massaged every day, 5 times a day, for 5 min. at a time to be effective. Again, I was given no before-or-after care instructions and was shocked to think a 5-star 'dermatology' clinic would fail to give a first time patient what is important after care instructions. I called the office the next day and was told by the receptionist 'oh, yeah, sorry, we should have told you that- about massaging the area. usually we give a sheet of after care instructions, I guess we just forgot'. Apparently, they 'forgot' the most basic of patient care because they were too busy trying to close up the office for the hair appointment. I should have learned from that first encounter not to go back. I also read online that Sculpra is not a quick process, it requires multiple treatments and sometimes takes 6 months or more to see results. This was not my objective, as I specifically told Nellie I wanted to look good for a wedding in a few months. When I went back the second time, things went from bad to worse. I told Nellie that I was disappointed, to say the least, that I was not given after care instructions after the Sculpra, and felt like since I was not told to massage the area immediately after receiving the injections, I was concerned I would not get good results. Nellie said that the massaging was no longer recommended, and it would not affect the outcome. I beg to differ - if you Google Sculpra treatment and after care right now, today, on any website including the manufacturers own website, it specifically says the area treated needs to be massaged multiple times a day for 5 min at a time for 5 days. I got the impression that Nellie was very put off by the fact that I called them out on the lack of any after care instructions. I then asked her about seeing more short term results as opposed to spending months and thousands of dollars more than I wanted to spend in order to see results for my daughters wedding. So she then suggested Juvederm injections instead to see immediate results. To make a long story short, despite calling herself a 'master injector', I was in extreme pain, had a severe headache, and several hours after being injected by Nellie had two completely black eyes that lasted 3 weeks. Once again, I was given ZERO after care instructions, but was in so much pain when I left the office I forgot to ask. WHY does a patient need to ask for what should be standard basic patient care? I emailed pictures of my black eyes the next day and was told apparently the injections went into blood vessels, which bled all night and caused the black eyes. If I had been told to ice the areas they might have been less severe, but since I was told NOTHING I had to live with and go to work with two black eyes for 3 weeks. read more

This was my 3rd time getting Botox from Nellie and I will never go back. I am so sad that my experience here ended this way. 12 days after receiving Botox in my forehead for the 11s, I woke up cross-eyed and in a major state of panic. I called the 424 right away and they agreed to see me in the afternoon. After waiting 20 minutes past my appt time, Nellie looked at me and said I had "lid-tosis" and there was nothing she could do for the Botox that traveled to my eye muscles. Her only response was, "we won't do that again". No refund and no hope to get better other than to wait until the Botox wears off. I consulted with an ophthalmologist who wanted me to be seen by a neurologist for further evaluation. I am so scared right now for what could have happened. I followed all the rules of Botox and this was the outcome of a botched job. I got a second and third opinion by board certified physicians who said she injected too close to the levator muscle. I will be seeing a specialist next week praying there is no serious permanent damage. read more
