I have stayed here multiple times and never had all the problems that happened in May of this year…read more I booked a handicap room, which was on the 2nd floor, and had to use elevator as my friend travelling with me is quite disabled due to a stroke and has to use a walker. The room appeared nice, although 2 queens made it cramped, and there was only one desk chair for the two of us? The beds are high, which caused a problem for my companion next morning she ended up slipping onto the floor due to the carpet being rather slick and we had to call for assistance. One of the 2 security people sent to help had a medical bag, and believe it or not, they did not have a Bandaid, which was needed. Luckily I did have one that I'd packed. There are NO grab bars on the edge of the bed. The tv remote fell apart in her hand, and we called the front desk and they brought up another quite quickly. But also there were no extra blankets and my friend needed those brought up too. Our telephone didn't work, and nothing got done about it. The room itself was spotlessly clean and also the bathroom. However when I tried to open the double set of curtains, with the long plastic handle, it came off at the top of the curtain rail and the curtain would not budge. Another nuisance! The small refrigerator smelled of rotten food and did not seem to be cool enough to use, so I just used my ice chest, with ice. The person who came to bring us everything was exceedingly nice, but all the inconveniences were obviously not, and the price for this room in May was $169 before taxes. There are no discounts not even for Veterans, which my friend always received before the remodel. Even when we got to the room the card key would not open the door, and I had to call downstairs to bring up another as I had loads of luggage with me outside the door, which I could not tote downstairs. The room should definitely have two comfy chairs, not one desk chair, what is the other person supposed to sit on? Logically the room is sized for one bed, not two. As I filled out the survey like they requested, I did get an email from Calder Barnard, who apologized and that was suppose to make me feel better? No offers to compensate in any way! Poor business practice! Since staying there I now receive Rolling Hills brochures and offers, and one of the offers is for room price, they are giving me $5 off the room price. LOL. Now their price as of 10/9/25 is $229 night . Really? After all our inconveniences and email apology, that price is not at all enticing. I was thinking about giving it another try in a week or so, but their inability to make things right, is their way of doing business. As far as the Casino and restaurants, we found the snack bar, called Double Down Cafe, to be a good place to get most things. Everything is very fresh and tasty. We also ate at Fatburger, and you have to have a Fat wallet just for a cheeseburger, fries and a drink. Rock and Brews is fine if you can handle loud music, and their bar type food. We looked at menu and then left quickly. I gambled a few days and came out with a lot less than I started with. Machines are tight. In the past I would win, not at all over this 3 day period, and I went to lots of different machines, even the high roller area. The newer machines were not to my liking, so I found the more traditional dollar slots, there were too many loud gaming machines for me. I was sad they'd taken nearly all the Wheel of fortune machines out of casino. Not a good gambling experience or hotel stay. Maybe should have gone to Lake Tahoe and stayed at Harveys, much nicer rooms, more food choices, and more slots. I liked Rolling HIlls casino much more before the remodel, and especially the wonderful Buffet, that they chose to get rid of.

2 and a half out of 5 stars…read more.... Pros: Everyone I dealt with at the hotel, the gas station and the casino, were very nice. The room and bathroom were spotless, There was no mat in the bathtub, but there was a grab bar in case you slip. There was a fridge and microwave, the TV had many channels and a good picture. There was also a coffee maker in the room. The gas station has the best prices in town by about 10 cents a gallon, and the food in the casino *was* good. Cons: First of all, the construction. The main lobby is closed right now, and so there is a long walk around the side of the building to check in. And, the elevator is not working. I have mobility issues, so I asked if I could please get a room on the first floor. *Nope!* Nothing available. I had to tough the stairs... It wasn't easy, but I made it. The food prices in the casino. Everything was high priced. As I mentioned, the food at Fatburger *was* good, but $15 for a burger, fries, and a medium soda????? It was even more expensive at the sit-down restaurants. The bed: Very firm, to the point of being hard. I know this is person to person, but for me, it was to the point of being uncomfortable. Also, there were only 2 pillows. OK for one person, but if there are two people, it could be a problem. And finally, the Wi-Fi. Barely fast enough to surf the web, let alone stream video. I mentioned it to the gentleman at the front desk, and he agreed with me. He apologetically said, "Yeah, the Wi-Fi sucks..." I had to use data from my personal data plan so I could use my phone as a mobile hotspot. Next time, I'm just going to find a place in town. Sorry.....
