We were really pleased with our meal for 3 and were pleasantly surprised to have such good food during our dinner. It seems like maybe there have been some menu changes per past reviews and we had the pork chop, Brussels sprouts, and shotgun shrimp. The pork chop was one of the most tender I've ever had in a restaurant - I was impressed. I didn't feel like prices were too far out there compared to what it costs to eat out now. Thirty six dollars for fish n chips. The fried halibut was pretty decent, if a bit greasy, but the fries were gross. They put aioli on them, or something. Plus they were room temp and soggy. Pretty sad when you mess up fries at this price point. The baked Brussels sprouts with jam were a flop also. They were soggy and swimming in goop. I came here with several of my family members for my cousin's graduation party. We were a party of 9 and had a reservation. Upon checking in, we were told our reservation was cancelled by us, but neither them nor us had record of the cancellation, which was distressing. Thankfully, the host was able to accommodate our party. We ordered two orders each of the Calamari and Bang Bang Shrimp for appetizers. They were both delicious. The calamari was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Cumberland Sauce and Chipotle Aioli were perfect accompaniments, tart and sweet, and creamy and smoky respectively. The Bang Bang Shrimp was a nicer, upscale version of a chain restaurant classic. The shrimp were plump and juicy and seasoned well. The sauce was really nice, creamy and slightly spicy with a slight sweet note, which we learned comes from a sweet chili sauce. The main dishes, sadly, had several shortcomings. I ordered the pork chop ("Bone-in, mango relish, golden mashed potato, Brussels sprouts with wild boar bacon jam"). The pork chop was sous vide, then grilled, while it had nice flavor, it was over slightly cooked, rendering some parts dry. The mango relish mango sauce were delightfully sweet and provided the acid needed to balance the pork chop. The side dishes were terribly disappointing. The mashed potatoes did have nice flavor, but they came out lukewarm and worst of all, gummy, which was likely a result of over whipping the potatoes. The Brussels Sprouts, while temperature and texture wise were fine, they were over seasoned and very oily. The bacon jam over caramelized and made some parts of the dish bitter. The service throughout dinner was strong. The wait staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the food, and warm. Went for a special occasion and this was our first visit. Had a ribeye steak and was not impressed. It was a very thin cut that likely was from some food service type warehouse. Overcooked. Lacked flavor. None of our party was overly impressed. Despite being the only table for a while in the main dining room, staff was sparse and not attentive. This is the newly renovated steakhouse in Rolling Hills casino, I enjoyed the previous steakhouse and was eager to see the new one. I was terribly disappointed in the decor and lighting, the place was so bright tables cast shadows and the furnishings look like a cafeteria. I'm giving it two stars for the ambience. My son had a hamburger which was good (per an 11 year old). I'm assuming my waitress was within her first week, so I don't hold her responsible, but when you're paying the prices that you are at a casino in Corning for a meal like this you expect the servers to be better trained or to be supervised until they are ready. The lobster had no taste. Our sides never came out. Our drinks were mediocre at best and they continued to bring the wrong drink. It was probably 30 minutes from sitting down when we got our cocktails. If Rolling Hills is going to price their food ay $65 for a lobster tail and having to pay à la cart prices for sides, you expect higher quality, food, beverages, and service. After reading the few reviews on Yelp, we had low expectations. It was their Thursday night prime rib promotion that drew us here. I thought, okay, I expected average quality prime rib, average taste, and "okay for the promotion." We were pleasantly surprised. The prime rib was very, very good. The taste was WELL ABOVE our expectations, and the service was excellent. Yes, we made reservations for an early seating (5:15), however, we were surprised how many diners were already seated. I ordered a decent glass of wine. However, my selection was not available, and I was upgraded to a "better" wine for the same price (I ended up ordering a 2nd glass). I'm not a big fan of mashed potatoes, so I ordered a replacement of their baked potatoes with all the fixings (for me, it was a great choice). I've eaten here 4 times. Each time it gradually got worse. This last time, not only did we send food back because it was spoiled or something, the fish was so overcooked, and the lamb, in my opinion as a waitress of 30 years I would've never let some of the stuff come out. We went on a weekend (Saturday) and the food should've been fresh and the sauces were clearly not fresh to include separation and grease. Food is always delicious for a casino steakhouse. They used to have this deep fried rice, cheese and prosciutto ball thing for appetizer that was delicious but they've done away with it. So disappointed! Service was just ok even though it took 3 servers to bring a spoon and cream for the coffee which is now luke warm. Ordered 2 filet specials and lobster. Informed server that if steak is not cooked.as we liked we would return it. 1 steak was cooked right medium rare but the lobster needed a few more minutes. The 2nd steak was not cooked to my liking. It was sent back ..complete special dinner. A server from the back claimed he check temperature and it was medium rare temperature. I ordered medium well. Then he proceeds to embrace himself while others are trying to eat. AND...was offered drink order but informed NO BLENDER omg! I asked do they make their own ice tea? No we get it from the soda machine. Holy Batman! Plus, we had arrived at least 20 mins B4 2 other couples who ordered prime rib. They were served immediately. But their salads were not the same...even though same order. Wow! IT'S A STEAK HOUSE! I could of cooked my steak with my eyes closed by touch. NEVER, I MEAN NEVER WILL WE RETURN. Good food. Horrible waiter. After ordering from the menu, we heard other waiters at other tables telling about the specials. One of them was prime rib which I would've gotten. It was a Sunday night and the menu says prime rib is on Friday and Saturday. We had no idea prime rib was available. Other waiters brought our appetizers and salad. Our waiter brought the main dish but couldn't remember who ordered what and there was only two of us. He didn't notice my tea glass was empty, so I had to catch him as he was leaving the table. Very poor customer service, what is their issue? Completely incapable of taking an order. Felt like my party was disrespected and they didn't care to even serve us and tried to get rid of us. Looked at the menu and said we are looking at some options in the resort and said I may be back. So I came back 10 minutes later with my party and they said they couldn't seat us until 8pm which was only a half hour, but they weren't even busy. Said we can order from the bar which some of us were already waiting to get a drink from this worthless bartender that had his head someone else. So I'm watching and he is just completely ignoring 3 people waiting while he was chatting up with some other customers that by this time were already ordering their 2nd round. About 20 minutes in and we still haven't gotten our drinks. Wth? Here is why....after blowing us off he finally came up to take our order then disappeared in the back. Came back out with nothing and disappeared again. There seemed to be some confusion with the hostess and manager if they were going to serve us. Then this just pissed me off, he comes back out takes some other person's order that just arrived and filled his drink before even attempting to serve us anything...this is just disrespectful. We finally get our undercooked appetizers and the guys is still having problems filling our drink orders which was way over $100. We finally left and decided not to eat or drink here anymore.
