From the moment I met Sam, he was nothing but straight forward and honest. I knew, after talking with him, that I did not want anyone else to do my repairs. He was my only choice. I had several things that needed repairing: he gave me some self-help remedies for the issues that did not require a professional. My kitchen ceiling was literally hanging due to an AC leak (and yes there was mold) and I also had ceiling damage in my bedroom from a leaky roof. For more reasons than one, I had not gotten the repairs fixed, which were ongoing issues. I had gotten the ceiling repaired once before, but the AC started leaking again. The 2nd time was worse than the first. I was unable to open my kitchen cabinets doors. Also, it was the first thing visitors saw when they entered my home. It was an eyesore that could not be ignored. Sam, Josh, and Cristian (who helped with the demolition part of the job) were all amazing! I do not believe that I can be any more impressed with my repairs. My ceiling in the kitchen and bedroom both look new again, one would never know how bad it was. We read 5 star reviews on this company, but no way those reviews come close to what our experience have been. We are also reading reviews of work he has supposedly completed in the last few weeks and find this concerning, especially since he has told us he was depressed and was in bed, and unable to work. He stated that once he recovered, he would return to finish our project and possibly begin driving for Uber. The timing and volume of these recent reviews raise serious questions. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. At best, the crew seems capable of basic painting, and even that required close supervision. He promised to repair all cracks before painting, but only some were addressed, with repeated promises to come back later for the rest. We were sold on hardwood flooring with claims of a 100 year lifespan and unlimited resurfacing. Without our knowledge, refurbished wood was used instead. The floors are already making loud squeaking noises. The turf installation was poorly done. There are potholes throughout, no level surface, and the areas around the trees are messy. Grass is already growing through the turf. Sand was dumped directly on top of the grass and not properly removed, and leftover turf was left sitting on the lawn, killing the grass underneath. turf not anchored and he only used weed barrier around the trees. Plug covers removed for painting were misplaced, so they are left bare now. He removed our backyard tiles before even securing a contractor to replace them. His plan was to install tiles before painting the walls, but when he could not find someone, he painted anyway, promising to power wash the walls later because debris from the areas without tiles repeated splashed on the freshly painted walls everytime it rained. 6 months later, the tiles are still not installed. He told us two months ago, that the person he contracted with, wanted more money for labor and we offered to pay the difference. just so our work can be done. One contractor he sent out started installing the tiles, before ensuring a leveled surface and before the tiles on the sides and the door was removed. Yet he stated the tile guy was the best in Houston. The contractor also proposed for the new tiles to go the existed tiles. We also discovered that interior paint was used on exterior trim. We only found this out when workers he sent for touch ups told us directly. Additionally, drains were not marked before removal, so they were reinstalled incorrectly. This has caused water to collect improperly in our yard during rain. He built a wine room but has yet to complete it. Lights and shelving are still missing. He placed tiles here without grout and left some areas open. Although our contract included a kitchen remodel, we chose not to proceed until the existing incomplete work was finished. We had been paying in installments, and the amount paid now exceeds the value of the work completed. In total, this company owes us around $5000 in work paid for and yet to be done. Payments made were supposed to cover: Replacement of a cracked window Driveway touch up Backyard tile work Garage shelves Front door waxing One kitchen tile Tiles in two areas in the back These items are completely paid for but remain unfinished. He left in December stating he needed knee surgery. When he returned, he gave personal reasons for delays and asked for more time, yet we later learned he was taking on other jobs while ours remained unfinished. They broke our sprinkler system and promised to repair it but have not done so. They also entered our garage without permission, took items such as a ladder, brooms, shovels, and cords, used them, left them unclean and disorganized, and damaged some. Additionally, they entered the house wearing shoes without using protective shoe coverings. This contractor has received a number of positive reviews within the past month, which coincides with the time we sent him a certified letter regarding our concerns. This timing raises questions about whether those reviews were strategically posted to offset negative feedback he anticipated. We gave this company so many chances because we understand the struggles of some small businesses. Overall, this has been a stressful and frustrating experience. Mursal is an Irresponsible contractor with consistent failure to complete contracted work, Exhibits deceptive or misleading business practices and lacks integrity and accountability in fulfilling obligations. We strongly recommend exercising extreme caution when considering Home Repair Dudes or Guliyev Mursal, who also goes by Mark.

This was a Covered Patio addition w/ fire pit and I'd say moderate cost. Pros: 1) The phone number listed is for the owner which is quite bold for any company. 2) They were very quick to respond for a quote. 3) They completed the job even through all of the struggles. Some may have taken the money and run. Cons: 1) The Project Manager, Cristian, assigned had very little oversight and added very little value beyond scheduling, ordering materials and translating. -We had to drive around town to locate the stone material we wanted to use in his price range (which didn't exist by the way). There were not recommendations of where to go or any samples available on hand that he'd spec'd. -We had to meet new contractors onsite and explain what they'd be doing. Inspect the job before they left. Look for issues and explain to everyone what needed to be fixed. -We found out in April that Cristian didn't know we were in a windstorm zone in Brazoria even though he was advised by the City Inspector who was not closing out the final inspection with out the engineer letter in January and Me at the beginning of the project where he noted it in the quote. *Still amazed* So the roof had to be replaced to meet the windstorm criteria. -We had to keep and maintain an Issues log for everyone to know what was remaining to be repaired. -We had to stay in constant communication w/ PM (and eventually the owner as well) if we wanted the job to move forward. Weeks would pass with no communication, no work, no major weather events and no explanations. -PM refused to schedule workers in parallel -Requests we made in quoting were explicitly ignored, such as the type of wood NOT to use or dimensions of the foundation. The foundation size was corrected luckily before they poured but unfortunately we reluctantly agreed to keep the wood if they could get the stain right... that took 4 attempts. -This was quoted as a 30 day job, which contracted 7/9/22 and today 8/25/23 we are submitting (as in I'm doing it myself) the paperwork to close out the last permit more than a year later. -In the end the PM/Owner decided they could not do a portion of the contract (French drains and yard regrade & resod) they agreed to and refunded that portion. We happily agreed as well. -We were lied to over and over throughout the process, overt small lies to cover up ignorance and then big whoppers. I don't do lies or liars. I tolerated it for a bit and then I didn't and my husband took over communications to keep the peace. But for anyone from Conerstone reading, honesty goes so much further. 2) The company didn't have relationships with subcontractors and used subpar labor for which they were testing on my project. -Every aspect of the job (except the foundation which is now chipping away) had to be redone 2+ times (up to 4 that I can remember) -There was an attempt to not get a plumbing permit to avoid using the more expensive labor required to run the gas line. After rerunning that line 3 times and getting the permit anyway I'm sure the cost more than caught up though. 3) The nature of our contract originally meant that we had paid for the covered patio before it was complete. From the point it was paid in January we became last priority. You can see on their FB page "Wrapping up another beautiful Patio Job"... 1/3/23... They staged a photo shoot with a gentleman with a cornerstone shirt (I assure you, they do not employ their own labor). How in the world that takes another 7.5 months, I'm sure would baffle all of you as well. Good luck in your search, this is not it.
