MD Pain, also known as Metro Denver Pain, or MD Sport, Spine, and Pain Management, has been through many changes since 2017 when I first was a patient. Since I have been injured in 5 car crashes that were not my fault, I suffer from crippling constant pain. At first I found MD pain helpful. They were responsive to my needs and the Dr. Huser listened to me. But that started to change. MD Pain began to use Nurses who were licensed to write prescriptions, (NPs) and those NPs began to change my medications. This resulted in complications for me that were very serious! I had to call the Doctor on off hours in emergencies, and get help! I even had to go the ER! Then they closed some offices. Then COVID hit. MD Pain switched me to online appts which frankly were more convenient for me, because I didn't have to worry about being late due to traffic. Finally, this year, I was on a good medication regime and working with a good NP who understood my medication needs and wouldn't change them. Then I was informed that Online appts were cancelled. And I would have to go back to in-person appts. I was not informed that the office or clinic would be moving. I have a long history of sever migraine headaches. And I take medications to control them. But then in October I got a terrible headache and missed my appointment because of the headache. The NP I had been working with had left MD Pain and the new NP refused to fill my medication because I missed my appt. even though I had been a patient for 5 years! After 5 days of this terrible headache, I was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Room at Porter's. Since I had just signed a new "Pain Contract" I asked the ER doctor to call my Dr. at MD Pain and ask what medications I could have. (This was after Porter's had me waiting 4 hours). After 5 hours Porter's dismissed me with NO treatment at all. MD Pain told them: "We need her to come in". The reason was later explained to me by "Libby" at MD Pain, that I supposedly had missed a UA. Which I had not. I had just submitted one that was clean in September! I continued to be bedridden with a terrible headache for 4 more days. When I finally recovered enough to talk on the phone, I called MD Pain, and asked for an appointment for my medication refill. I was given an appointment to speak with Ashley Vanderjaght the next day by phone as an "exception". and she was not nice. Instead of apologizing for giving the Hospital incorrect information, she asserted that the reason she did not give me my medication before was that it would have been "6 days too early" and she stretched back into August to make her argument. Although I told her this was incorrect, she would not be persuaded. So I just came right out and asked if she was going to fill my medication or not? I did get my medication, only to be left in tears. This month I was denied my appt for being late after the MD Pain moved to new location. After asking how I was going to get my refill, the person behind the desk made a phone call and explained to me that she was getting my balance. I still asked her how I was going to get my medication refill. She came up with a small balance and asked me to pay a certain amount. I told her I pay would half of the pay half of the balance, as it was a small balance, and I just made a large payment in September. She was not satisfied with this, and threatened me with collections. I thought this was ridiculous. I had just made a large payment in September and I had not gotten a statement reflecting this and I so told her. She was not deterred. She stated that if I did not pay the demanded amount, she would not schedule my appointment. I asked her position and she stated "Office Manager". I realized at this point that MD Pain had changed so much, they could no longer meet my needs. I suppose if you can get past the Office Manager, don't have to deal with Ashley Vanderjaght, and you can see one of the nice MDs, you might be OK at MD Pain, but I didn't want to risk it anymore. read more

Since moving from NJ, finding a good PM doctor has been a challenge. That was until the other day when MD Pain called me back. The only reason for 4 stars was the week delay between me calling and leaving a message of my interest, to them calling me back. I had all but given up hope on finding a PM clinic. So many things called were private pay and exorbitant amounts just to see a doc. MD Pain took my insurance, and the phone call was very pleasant & thorough. I was sent a packet to have filled out before my visit, and when I arrived the staff was very pleasant & professional. Dr. Checa spent over an hour with me & I cant say enough good things about him. He, the service I received and the day of experience was all 5 stars! If you need to find a great doc, where prescribing narcotics doesn't have to be your only choice, then you need to see them! read more

Dr. Huser is great, but his P.A. (won't mention any names) is a piece of work. She doesn't listen, never looks at you in the eye, very accusatory, stating you took something for pain they didn't prescribe, when in fact it was given to you when you had surgery at their facility. This P.A. definitely doesn't understand what pain is. You tell her the prescription she gave you last time you saw her doesn't work, so what does she do, she triples it up, and it still doesn't work. She doesn't take notes. She is very disrespectful, clueless and has no empathy whatsoever. She looks down on you, and treat you like you are worthless. She said she would write a refill prescription for pain and you could fill it on the upcoming Monday, when it fact she knew she wrote it for the upcoming Wednesday instead, causing extreme pain since I had nothing to treat it with because I had to wait for the pharmacy to fill 2 days later. Very dangerous when you could possibly go into narc withdrawl and die. Worthless is what she is. read more

My first bout of shingles I was eight years old, then again at 23, and one more time at 27. Five years later my shoulder went numb, then the pain started shooting from my back to my neck, and down my arms. No one listened to me! I was given anxiety meds and told it was all in my head. But no more! MD Pain saved my life! I finally found people who believed me, who cared enough and did what was necessary to finally stop the pain. It's all about the money for MD pain and all about him getting your insurance money for injections!!!! Do not let up until you get the injection that will end up costing you a couple thousand dollars they don't tell you upfront and will work for the first time but make you feel horrible after they wear off . They will convince you to get another injection and it will last half is long as the first injection, and after that injection was off do you feel worse than you did before and so on until they don't work at all !!!....Also will get you hooked on painkillers and then your quality of life is shot !!!! so I would stay away from MD Pain and their evil practice!!! read more

I recently had to change pain doctors due to him leaving his practice and through research ended up at MD Pain. I have had multiple doctors given my history of over 20+ years of chronic pain and pretty much down to needing basic prescription refills. I must state that my experience with this practice was by far my worst experience. First, they are by far the most expensive charging triple the rates of my previous doctors. This may not be an issue for people with good insurance, but buyer beware to check your insurance coverage. Also understand that there are more affordable options with other pain management offices to choose from as I recently found. Second, I met with Karissa a physician assistant that lacks any compassion for her patients. I don't think I was there with her 5 minutes before she was quoting the medication contract and not very interested in working with concerning cost, pain medication, and required office visits. I felt too me like there other places she would rather be. I don't think she cares for her job and I couldn't help feeling that she was judging me as a drug addict. It did not start this way, I first met with Dr. Usher for the initial visit and he was very pleasant, and I was eager to be under his care. Unfortunately, after a series of rescheduled appointments on their end, I had to take an appointment with Karissa and the rest is history. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Bernardini for 3-1/2 years. Thanks to him, I was able to successfully work my way out of an excessive dose of opioids (prescribed by another doctor). Since then, he has helped me manage other pain management issues. It is always a pleasure to come to the MD Pain/Lincoln office--a pleasant, organized place with short wait times. I would happily recommend those in need of pain management to the MD Pain/Lincoln office. read more

I am very disappointed with this facility after seeing Dr. Bernadini. I have been to many doctors for my pain over the years and I've never been treated so disrespectfully by someone claiming to be a specialist. He rushed through my appointments and after having several MRIs with no indication of where my pain is coming from, his exact words were "I don't know what's wrong, I can't help you and I don't know anyone who can". I asked him what my next steps should be to figure out my pain and he arrogantly said a neurologist or muscle specialist wouldn't know anything he doesn't. He went to write me a referral for a physical therapists that I basically had to demand from him, and instead of returning to the room he had his assistant hand off the note to me. I said I still had more questions, and instead of coming back into the room to finish my appointment in private, he stood in the hall and answered my final questions in front of a bunch of people. I asked about a back brace and he simply told me to order one on Amazon. He showed no interest in pointing me in the right direction of someone more qualified or who might be able to help, and treated me like he didn't care about my pain at all. He seems more interested in patients who need surgery who's insurance will pay him out for a ton of experimental procedures. But since my scans didn't show anything, my insurance won't cover a lot of treatment options. Once he realized this, his demeanor completely changed and he was no longer invested in helping me. I had other appointments with him hat were disappointing, but this was the final straw. I will not be coming back to this facility and I strongly advise choosing a doctor besides Dr. Bernadini. read more
