Neither…read moreof us particularly enjoy being in front of the camera, but Michel made us feel totally at ease, directing us with poses and facial expressions along the way. For our engagement session on the beach, Michel went the extra mile and purchased a small pop-up changing booth so that I could change into my several different outfits without needing to run back and forth to the car. Also, we really appreciated that Michel wore a mask during both sessions and helped us remain socially distant. After our sessions, Michel scheduled some time to go through the pictures together to pick out our favorites. I was expecting to love only a handful as I'm usually very critical when it comes to pictures of myself! However, I was so surprised to find that I loved almost all of the hundreds of pictures Michel showed us (note: these were just the unedited photos)! It was nearly impossible to narrow them down to ~30 favorites. I've received tons and tons of compliments on these photos and truly treasure them. My fiancé and I are so glad we found Michel and Sarah (his wife) and might just put them on speed dial soon. We've already planned two more future sessions for more headshots and puppy photos! Gave me the impression of someone who thinks they are better than everyone else and is just overall someone I would not want to deal with. I would 100% not recommend someone to use this company based off the impression I had with the owner I can't imagine what he does behind closed doors if he behaves likes a misbehaved spoiled child. Take your business else where. I as well just want to state don't take what they reply to this comment if they decide to do as justification he left me a terrible review at my place of employment and I did everything he asked to a T. Never had a bad review at my work until he did it.

We used Elite for photo, video, dj and photobooth. This will likely be long because of that but…read moreoverall we would totally recommend using Elite. Our photographer Jeff showed up early which was great and immediately got to work setting things up. He was personable, instructional in staging photos, efficient and I truly cannot wait to see the shots he captured. Our videographer was not who we originally were assigned but Emory showed up and again was personable, helped walk us through some great moments to capture and was so passionate about video that he was hyping us up all day. The few clips he showed a couple of the bridesmaids made them so excited for us to see. Evan was our dj and played each song as we planned. The music was up beat and fun and when there was a song I wasn't super fond of we made eye contact and he mixed into something else. The photobooth was fun and the attendant was so kind. We also did uplighting and cold sparks. The pictures people took of us and sent show people with shocked excited faces when those went off, which was just a fun addition. Overall our day went smoothly and hoping that the pictures and video we get delivered will be just the same! Thank you to Hilary for all of her assistance in making this all possible too!

Biggest regret of my wedding day? Hiring Mishelle. She's SUPER responsive when you're trying to…read morehire her but after you've signed your contract, it's radio silence. She's great at making you feel like you are sooo lucky to have her as a photographer. She charges $5700 for an engagement photo shoot, 8 hours of photography on day of with 2 shooters (herself and a friend). We were traveling from out of town for the engagement photos. It took multiple emails (like 5) to get her to respond to a date that could work for us so that we could buy our flights. Our engagement photos weren't great. She tends to shoot from below, which wasn't the best angle for my husband or me. There's very little direction from her (I.e. put your hand on his chest). She does do a good job of feeling like the photos she's taking are fabulous during the shoot. On the day of, she likes to claim that she "takes charge" which I thought I'd like. She's not lying, she takes charge but doesn't pay attention to the schedule. She made me 30 min late to my own wedding bc she was taking pics and not paying attention to the time. My family actually said they thought I was getting cold feet. I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt but we finally got our photos over 3 months after the wedding. I cried when I got them, and not for a good reason. The photos are terrible. They're unedited.....there's trash in the background of my bridal portraits that she chose to not edit out. She put a filter on all of them but it just washes us out. I do not have a single one of my mom and me that's in focus. She took a million of my husband and me but I can't find one that I like. It is truly disappointing. I don't have a single photo from cocktail hour, no photos of our signature cocktail signs, no photos of our beverage napkins. It's like she was just shooting random things that aren't in focus. To top it off, multiple people came up to me and asked who my photographer was bc she was so crabby during the day. I will be asking her to edit our photos...tbd. I would never recommend Mishelle.

I was thinking our day was just a one off bad day for her but it seems like that's not the case. I don't think it's always been this way with Mishelle but I believe the quality of service/work has gone downhill and it should be noted for the prices being paid. Non responsive up until wedding day and multiple ignored messages. When we did talk I could barely get a word in or share our vision. Showing up late/distracted on wedding day. Didn't get many of the family portraits that were outlined, odd angles/lighting/bad editing/blurriness in photos that doesn't seem normal for a 15+ year experience photographer. While I will say there are some good photos, overall we were disappointed in our experience and the delivered work for the amount paid. There are many many anecdotes I could share that reflect our experience but overall, the day and 'edited' images reflected a lack of passion, care, or attention to detail. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but for a once in a lifetime event, the photographer experience is very important and unfortunately Mishelle missed the mark.

Detroit Photo Bar is AWESOME!…read more My fiancé and I wanted to have a photo booth at our wedding, but we were looking for something beyond the standard photo booth experience. When we discovered Detroit Photo Bar, we were intrigued with the open-air set-up. It did not disappoint! The open-air booth allowed for bigger group photos, higher quality images and it was more engaging for guests that were waiting in line. It was a total hit with everyone! Prior to the event, I had the pleasure of working with Sarah and she was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She was quick to respond to my emails and very flexible with my requests. She even allowed me to design a custom backdrop and template for our photo prints. At the event, both Sarah and her husband Kyle, went above and beyond to make sure everyone was enjoying the photo booth. They were friendly, attentive and patient (which probably wasn't the easiest after 4+ hours of an open bar ;-)). I highly recommend Detroit Photo Bar for your wedding or next big event!

I'll do that later if I have to, but for now I'll just say that if you don't like your experience with them and you post a bad review, they'll make it even more unpleasant by hounding you about it. I was hoping to just move on but I guess they want the whole story, which I'm anticipating they'll argue with me about. Yelp, I think, is primarily for communication between customers. I understand businesses being able to respond, but they won't leave me alone. I'm not the person who hired them for newborn pictures.
