I explained that I was looking for something different than just typical maternity photos and she did not disappoint. My portraits are beautiful, vibrant, and I've received so many compliments on them. On the day of our shoot, Marcie was on time, and I never felt rushed or hurried. She took her time with me and gave great instructions about how I should pose (because I'm not a model!), and we had a lot of fun laughing together as she worked. I would recommend Marcie to anyone looking for a great photographer in the Ann Arbor area.

marcie of pink moon photography captured my hard but redeeming vbac experience from beginning to…read moreend and also did a maternity shoot for us a couple weeks prior to the birth. she is very personable and was such a pleasure to work with. my husband and i were a little leery about having someone we didn't know capturing such an intimate experience. but when i initially spoke to her on the phone i knew she was the right person for the job and meeting her in person before the birth to go over the process put me and my husband totally at ease. marcie documented every emotion of the labor and delivery process. priceless looks exchanged between me and my husband. the support of our doula. joy, exhaustion, pain, setback, perseverance, accomplishment. our daughter crowning and being delivered from my body and placed onto my chest, something i had not had the privilege of experiencing during my first birth. i will forever treasure these moments marcie so beautifully captured that make up my redeeming vbac experience. our maternity photos were taken at the botanical gardens in ann arbor. i love outdoor photos but didn't think they were possible in january in michigan. but marcie informed me the impossible was definitely possible! the greenhouse of the gardens was like a balmy bit of florida in the middle of winter. marcie made this 36 week pregnant mama feeling like a whale look like a goddess! i can't recommend marcie highly enough. i loved working with her and plan to continue to do so in the future.

Biggest regret of my wedding day? Hiring Mishelle. She's SUPER responsive when you're trying to…read morehire her but after you've signed your contract, it's radio silence. She's great at making you feel like you are sooo lucky to have her as a photographer. She charges $5700 for an engagement photo shoot, 8 hours of photography on day of with 2 shooters (herself and a friend). We were traveling from out of town for the engagement photos. It took multiple emails (like 5) to get her to respond to a date that could work for us so that we could buy our flights. Our engagement photos weren't great. She tends to shoot from below, which wasn't the best angle for my husband or me. There's very little direction from her (I.e. put your hand on his chest). She does do a good job of feeling like the photos she's taking are fabulous during the shoot. On the day of, she likes to claim that she "takes charge" which I thought I'd like. She's not lying, she takes charge but doesn't pay attention to the schedule. She made me 30 min late to my own wedding bc she was taking pics and not paying attention to the time. My family actually said they thought I was getting cold feet. I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt but we finally got our photos over 3 months after the wedding. I cried when I got them, and not for a good reason. The photos are terrible. They're unedited.....there's trash in the background of my bridal portraits that she chose to not edit out. She put a filter on all of them but it just washes us out. I do not have a single one of my mom and me that's in focus. She took a million of my husband and me but I can't find one that I like. It is truly disappointing. I don't have a single photo from cocktail hour, no photos of our signature cocktail signs, no photos of our beverage napkins. It's like she was just shooting random things that aren't in focus. To top it off, multiple people came up to me and asked who my photographer was bc she was so crabby during the day. I will be asking her to edit our photos...tbd. I would never recommend Mishelle.

I was thinking our day was just a one off bad day for her but it seems like that's not the case. I don't think it's always been this way with Mishelle but I believe the quality of service/work has gone downhill and it should be noted for the prices being paid. Non responsive up until wedding day and multiple ignored messages. When we did talk I could barely get a word in or share our vision. Showing up late/distracted on wedding day. Didn't get many of the family portraits that were outlined, odd angles/lighting/bad editing/blurriness in photos that doesn't seem normal for a 15+ year experience photographer. While I will say there are some good photos, overall we were disappointed in our experience and the delivered work for the amount paid. There are many many anecdotes I could share that reflect our experience but overall, the day and 'edited' images reflected a lack of passion, care, or attention to detail. I try to give the benefit of the doubt but for a once in a lifetime event, the photographer experience is very important and unfortunately Mishelle missed the mark.

Basel was my photographer, and our engagement photos were wonderful! My wedding photos were abominable. I was given 380 (unedited at my request) photos. Thats it. There was 2 photos of me walking down the isle. Eyes closed and making a weird face. No photos of rings being exchanged. My husband and I had only 6-7 shots alone.. most were blurry and not in focus. The only photo of us walking into the reception was completely blown out with a flash, you can't even see us. There are about 10 pictures of our first dance, all are either our backs, blurry or the file is damaged. There is one photo of my dancing with my father. There are 3-4 others, that again I cannot open. Basel arrived late, and stop shooting or left early. Requests for photos during the reception after dinner, made by my mother in law, bridesmaids and aunts were ignored. I have plenty of hot girls dancing pictures. Some photos are salvageable and I am able to edit them but the actual quality of the shots, and the fact that there is literally one shot or every pose is completely unprofessional. He did not bring his 20-25 years of experience to my wedding.. My mom's iPhone would have taken better photos.. and in some cases did.. I could go on and on... I am heartsick that my wedding photos turned out so completely terrible, don't waste your time or your money.. Like I said our engagement session was awesome, but the wedding was a disaster. Don't have your day ruined.

We were able to customize our package to exactly what we wanted and they made sure to get every arrangement of photos of our huge wedding party and family! They were so kind and easy to work with and at the end of the night checked in with us to make sure there wasn't anything else we wanted before they left. I would highly recommend them for any special occasion and if we ever need professional photographers again, we will no doubt be back to see them again!
