Where's the meat??? I've been a loyal customer of the Me n Eds chain for almost 50 years. I'm very disappointed in how their food is now. At Lemoore chain I've had burnt pizza (til black) twice on take out (I didn't find out until I reached home 45 minutes away). Now in Coalinga I get a 3 topping pizza with pretty much 1 topping (mushroom). The sausages are so few and small they're almost non-existent (10 Itty bitty pieces on a large pizza). The linguica only had 6 pieces on a large pizza. I ate here with my family a week ago as a dime in and the pizza had plentiful meat (same order). Why are they skimping for take out? The service isn't great here, because the shop is run by a bunch of teen and just post-teenagers. You'll find them joking around and working at a snail's pace when ordering your food. So, that's unfortunate. The pizza; however, is REALLY good. The crust is perfectly crisp and the pizza doesn't flop despite being loaded with toppings. We stopped by on our way to King City. The service was good. The pizza was ordered and received at a reasonable time. The kids ate most of their yummy thin crispy crust pizza and I had the one time salad bar. The salad bar does not have a big variety of items but it's good and fresh. I love the seeds and they do have raisins and crouton toppings. I like the old style soda dispenser. I prefer it over the new types that are out there because of the taste. Easy to find, in the center of town, with ample parking, this could be a good stop for lunch on a family road trip up and down the state. EXCEPT, that on a recent visit, I was greeted by the loud music coming from the cable TV explicit rap station (as were all the kids in the place, including some very young ones). The rapper was pulling no punches with regard to f-bombs and MF this and I'm gunna (blank) you (blank)(blank)(blank)....nothing subtle. It made for a very uncomfortable experience. Food was not bad, although a bit slow, and I had to ask several times for my drink, but it was the x-rated rap lyrics that made me decide not to bring my kids into this place next time. read more

When you drive through the town, you see lots of older style buildings that are all in need of repair. Me-n-Ed's is a new building with an industrial look inside. The order counter is right inside the door. It's not set up to efficiently take many orders, but it gets the job done. The customer service was friendly, but very slow to get the pizza out. The pizza is a very crispy bottom with a bubbly doughy top. It's like a thin crust hybrid. The sauce is tangy but not particularly flavorful and the cheese is nothing spectacular. It's a good pizza, but not anything to write home about. I might come back if we drive through here again, but mostly because it is clean and has a nice clean bathroom. read more

You better make sure your order is right or Daniel will steal your money and tell you to get over it if you ask for a refund. If I could give zero stars, I would. We don't live in town, but we have family there and usually go to pizza and treat everyone when we visit. This time we placed a large order, $110 worth and picked it up. Part of that order was a garden salad for my daughter who doesn't eat pizza. When we got it home, the salad was missing. I called the restaurant and asked if they could deliver it since it wasn't put in the bag (mind you, my SIL only lives about 3 - 4 miles from there). The guy I spoke with, Daniel, said it would take 15 min to drive there and when my SIL told him it was maybe 5, tops, he claimed they aren't insured to deliver 4 miles away...um, ok... When I got back on the phone, I told him that was fine, just refund the $10 for the salad. He said he can't do that and no one there can do it either - I'd have to drive back later that night when the night shift starts. I explained to him that I don't live in town so that wasn't possible, and if they can take a card by phone, they can issue a refund by phone by manually entering it (I used to own a business). He said he can't do that and had the nerve to tell me that he can't believe I'm so worried about $10. Seriously?! I told him it doesn't matter if he thinks I shouldn't care about the money or how much it is - they charged me without giving me the food. Quite frankly, t's not up to him nor is it any of his business whether I care about MY money. After being accused of being rude for asking for a refund, I let him know I'd be calling back to talk to a manager and file a complaint against him. Again, he said I was rude because I said I'd tell his manager! I have never had worse customer service - that's just theft at that point in my opinion! Later that evening another worker called me and was much nicer, apologetic for Daniel's actions and acknowledged what happened was not right, but, because of the shift change, he'd have to have the manager call me the next morning to issue the refund - Something about the tills. I appreciated the apology and told him that was fine. Sadly, the whole day has gone by and no call from the manager... I won't ever be giving them my business again and think the only reason this business has made it is because they're in a tiny town with such limited options. I'd like to see Daniel get shorted $10 on an order and have to make it up with his own money to see if HE still thinks it's no big deal. All I can really say is I've ate there many times and have had food delivered. It's always been one of the best meals in town. I've never had a bad meal there. We used to meet after church almost every Sunday. The all meat lo ers pizza with pineapple and bbq sauce drizzled over the top will make a puppy pull a freight train. Love Me-N-Ed's! It's clean, has clean bathrooms, has a wonderful salad bar, self-serve sodas, beer on tap, and fresh from the oven pizzas. I usually get a thick crust with my pizza and a have rarely been disappointed in the meal I get. I especially like the calzone and some other sandwich options that a lot of people don't think about. The staff has always been very friendly and efficient; very patient with my inability to decide what to order. Some of them have exceptional humor and make the visit extra fun by their comments and attitudes. There are two sections with a semi separation between the two. this offers a little more quietness or just a different setting for some customers. There are a few arcade games and little quarter machines for the children. Has three or four TV stations in the larger room and one in the other room which are usually playing sports. My spouse really enjoys this aspect! Nice place to eat and enjoy time with a friend. Me-N-Ed's family deals are amazing and well worth the price. It's nice to be able to watch the entire preparation process and see where your pizza is at the moment. I especially like that Me-N-Eds is locally owned and managed. read more

Came here for the first time and it was better than I expected! They have a good selection of specialty pizzas and an all you can eat salad bar. It was a clean, family friendly atmosphere as well. I got the spicy hawaiian pizza. It had a little bit of everything...almost like a hawaiian meats bbq chicken pizza. The only downfall/complaint I have is the crust. I don't mind if it's thin, but it wasn't chewy or had any dough to it. It just crisped off when you bit into it. We also had their spicy hot wings which were really good! Went today and literally ended up walking out..but suprise suprise when another family walked in they attended them right away. Was about 6 people working and none of them said hi or we will be right with u. Didnt even acknowledge me and my dad. My Husband found this place on Yelp while we were driving on HYW 5. Hyw 5 from SF to LA has very few food options we did not want to stop at a fast food but we wanted a place where our toddlers could stretch their legs. This place turned out to be perfect.
