Food Review: Me-N-Ed's, Sanger, CA (Jensen & Bethel) Ordered two large pizzas $55, one double pepperoni with extra cheese, the other a simple pepperoni/mushroom/olive. Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Should've been a layup. Instead, it took them 1 hour and 20 minutes to deliver. At that point I'm convinced they hand crafted each pepperoni slice by slice, or maybe the driver took a scenic tour of Sanger first. When the pizzas finally showed up, the disappointment hit instantly. These things were burnt, bone dry, and looked like they were assembled during an earthquake by a blind 3 year old child. One pizza didn't even have pepperoni in the center just a sad, empty space staring back at me like it was ashamed of itself. So for the first pizza ordered in December, Me-N-Ed's (Jensen Ave) earns a glorious ZERO stars. Better luck never. read more

You would think with 2 locations being here in Sanger they would be the same but they aren't. IDK WHY? It's so weird, the North location is way better!! The taste, the quality, cleanliness of the store, and the customer service. This (Bethel & Jensen) location stinks, the pizza hardly has any cheese, the restaurant is always dirty and the tables never get cleaned, and the employees are so rude. Friends, family, and co-workers all agree LOL. Close this location down and stick with the North location and make that one even better!! read more

Whatever you do, do not go to this location or oder from here. It has management problems and there is no quality control.. It is very inconsistent and there is a little effort put into the product. Our family has been a huge supporter of this brand for 40 years, but the quality of this location has gone downhill so bad. 5/6/23 Getting lunch for tomorrow. I ordered a veggie calzone with chicken added. The worker was training. He was not good at all. Definitely clueless and really wasnt listening, kind or welcoming. I checked the receipt and he didnt add chicken. I told the worker training him and she said she would make sure chicken was added. Told it would be ready in 20/25 minutes. Clean, safe & practiced. I went back in to get it and thankfully it was ready early. The worker was different and already trained. He repeated the order and said chicken was added. Wished me a good night too! Hopefully, there's chicken like he said. 5/07/23 Lunchtime! Calzone split. My half was surprisingly, really delicious! Great amount of veggies and chicken! To LA, yaknow? So I got in my car started driving. I hopped on the freeway but ran out of gas halfway through. I pulled over and screamed and took off my seatbelt and got out the passenger door (for safety) and all of a sudden I saw Randy Savage riding on a goat storming right at me. He said "hop on kid" so I grabbed on and we took off toward the grapevine. He dropped me off downtown but as soon as I turned to thank him he was gone like a goat in a wind. It was crazy man. Wish I could rate it a 0! Worst pizza ever. Go to the grocery store and buy some frozen pizza's, I guarantee they will be a lot better than this. The pizza looked horrible, topping on combination were lacking and the garlic chicken had a dark strange sauce, no chicken and chopped garlic was just dumped onto of the pizza. The pepperoni pizza was even worse. It was like they put a lot store bought pasta sauce on, threw on a few pieces of pepperoni and dump cheese on. The pizza was not cut. My wife and I drive to sanger just for the pizza. The one on clovis & kings canyon sucks. Usually always happy. Today we went for dinner 4/15/24. The place was filthy we arrived at 5:30 the floors windows even the copper bar all filthy. Service was slow other people were complaining. I was very surprised. The moment I walked inside I was skeptical but the minute I bit into the pizza it was great! I must admit when your inside the joint it looks pretty run down and there is nothing but young kids working. But don't be fooled by that because the pizza did not disappoint at all. I've had 2 perfect pizza pickup experiences here so I can't comment on how it is to eat inside or get delivery from this location. Always friendly and prompt service at the counter , I didn't wait more than 2 minutes to get the pizza and both were perfectly made and delicious--Tuscan Harvest is my new fav! Let me start by saying my family and I absolutely believe Me-N-Ed's Pizza is generally a superior pizza to most others. But, the pizza from here - sub standard at best! It was 8pm Friday night & when we called they said 30-35 minutes for pickup? Sweet! Well, it tasted like 15 minute pizza! Dry. No taste. Barely any cheese. Toppings? Only in the center! Why would anyone think that it's ok to charge $61 for 3 pizzas & 1 side salad with the salad being the best part of the meal? The service here is awful. We had one experience where they gave us the completely wrong pizza for take out, only to find out after the 20 minute drive home (we could've checked, somewhat our fault). Another time where we show up to pick up 10 minutes after our estimated pick up time and was told the pizza was dropped. Tonight we are told our pizza was given to someone else by mistake when we arrived to pick up. Pizza is good but with this many bad experiences it would be 0 stars if I could. After my first wonderful visit. The subsequent visits have went downhill. I tried to avoid ordering on Friday's since even with online ordering the wait time is doubled and I usually have to sit and wait for my food. Then one time I wanted wings the machine was broken. This last time, the wings were HORRIBLE. I got little pieces of something I though was a wing. And they were fried too hard. I also decided to try a small pizza because there is a Monday-Thursday coupon. And the pizza was...mehhhhh. Calzones are much better. In the end I was sick as a dog the next day from it all. This location is decent when Frank is there. When Frank isn't onsite it goes to hell. Yesterday this location ruined another special occasion. I ordered my pizzas for a party we were having at our house. They said it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrive to pick up at 20 minutes and said a few more minutes and they would be ready. I looked around for a place to sit and restaurant was at 50% capacity and not a single clean table and they didn't bus a single table while I waited. I waited 30 more minutes and pizzas still weren't ready. Several customers were extremely pissed that wait times were going way passed promised time. I get things go wrong but why promise a time if you can't come close to delivering within that window. I finally told them I need a refund I have a party full of kids I need to feed and can't keep waiting. There were no apologies and care that they failed to deliver. Told I would have to wait up to 3 days for a refund. Me-n-Eds used to pride it's self on excellent pizza and excellent customer service and now it's a I just don't care if you like us or not attitude. It's sad you need to check in advance to make sure Frank is around to get decent service. I'd eat across the street at Mountain Mikes if your looking for a quality dining experience. read more

We've lived in Sanger for 5 years and in 5 years this specific Me N Eds cannot get it's act together. I don't enjoy leaving poor reviews however, after today's pizza disaster we won't be soliciting your establishment any more. Pizza crust: Poor. Tasted like a salt free saltine cracker. The cornmeal was burnt, black- on the underside of the crust, the cornmeal was also crusted onto top of the pizza. You aren't cleaning your ovens enough, more cornmeal doesn't fix the problem! Also, I think you used a medium pizza round and stretched it to be a large, that's how thin this crust was. I could also taste the refrigerator taste in the dough. Pizza sauce: non-existent. The best part of a Me N Eds pizza is their sauce and there was none. Pizza cheese: non existent. On the entire large pizza, ONE SLICE you could see the cheese. Toppings: Sparse. I called this MenEds on Jensen and Bethel in Sanger to order take out and was put on hold for over 15 minutes, so I downloaded the app and placed an order. I ordered a large pepperoni and a large combination and requested extra sauce on both pizzas, but what we got were 2 pizzas with hardly any sauce on either one and the pepperoni pizza hardly had any pepperoni on it. Well Me n Ed's, after years and years of being a customer I have to say no more. At least not at this location. The last 3 orders have been either made wrong or crappy. Even today I checked my pizza before I left because I can't trust that it would be made correctly. Sure enough it wasn't. I asked for extra sauce and the pizza I was given was barely warm and dry. I brought this to an employees attention and they told me it wasn't dry, the cheese was covering it. No it was dry. Also, for the amount you have to pay for a specialty pizza they sure do skimp on the toppings. I've only been to one other location within the chain, in Modesto. Seeing as how there are two locations in Sanger, I'd expect perfection. That wasn't exactly what I found. Four of us went here to get lunch. It's not horribly expensive, although it is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. We ordered two 12 inch pizzas. The person behind the counter wasn't really friendly, but not rude, either. He told us 20 minutes, and it may have taken a bit longer than that. We were busy enough that it didn't matter so much. The combo pizza was available first. They called our number. I was thinking that the Modesto location brought the pizza to the table. In any case, the staffer said that they would bring the remaining pizza to the table. They did not. They called the number twice, with less patience in the voice the second time. Strangely, we only finished the first pizza and I sent someone with the second pizza to get it put into a box. We shared it at the skate park. Both pizzas were good. Not happy with this place. I've ordered family sized pizzas with no olives and they come with olives. This happened twice!! The receipt even states "no olives." The first time, I went in they said they couldn't do anything about it and the second time I didn't even bother because I gave them a second chance only to come home, open the box, and find olives. I just wanted to comment about the staff. The young lady who rung up my order was super sweet and patient with us when my cousin and I confused ourselves over how we were paying and I THANK HER FOR THAT. However, I wanted to complain about a staff member there who seemed a little to hands on. We ordered some pizzas and came in the pick them up and the young lady asked another worker to grab them, which he didn't. So she went around him to grab them and handed them to us. Then he went ahead and pinched her underarm torso area. She said, "Those aren't the pizzas," and he responded with, "they could be." She maintained her composure since there a couple of customers present but to me she looked a little uncomfortable with this look of confusion on her face. I was also uncomfortable for her because someone shouldn't have their hands on you unless you're okay with it, which she didn't seem to be. read more

Poor management .. the whole place was dirty there was no system as to who does what .. the lobby was a mess .. the employee drinking cups everywhere.. the employee did not wear gloves or mask .. I understand we don't need to wear mask but if your laughing and talking please wear one for the sake of the food that is bring prepped.. I wouldn't want spit in my food ..when it comes to gloves no one washed their hands, not once .. employee were touching their hair , their hats, their mouth and face , the registers , the phone.. gross.. the manager i didn't even see them on the floor. she came got soda and went straight to the back .. no guiding on who should do what .. 11 people on the floor and not one single person thought it would be good idea to clean up the 5 tables that were dirty.. the food I ordered over the phone took 50 mins I came in after being told itll be 30 mins came in and still waited ... Utterly disappointing. The crust tasted like cardboard and snapped like a cracker, there was no sauce on the pizza at all, and the cheese didn't even have any flavor. If I wanted to chew on some cardboard, I could've easily used part of the amazon prime shipping box sitting next to my trashcan. The pizzas in the frozen food aisle at Walmart taste 1000x better than what I just ate. Do better, Me-N-Ed's. Also, side note: They do not do "no contact delivery." The delivery driver was not equipped with a mask or gloves, and had me sign for the pizza with their pen. Luckily, we are in a more rural area with a lower number of COVID-19 cases, but in the middle of a pandemic this is still a valid safety concern for both customers and employees. read more

I ordered my pizza online at 11am to be picked up at 12:15. When I got there, I was informed that it had just gone into the oven. This was a challenge because I was trying to treat employees to lunch and they only have 30 minutes. I was told it would be another 15 or so minutes. I went and bought some drinks at the grocery store and came back when I was told it would be ready. I stood there for a solid 10 minutes before anyone ever acknowledged me. Then when they asked my name (again) they said that the pizza was ready but the cheesy bread was in the oven. I also asked for light olives and mushrooms and the pizza was absolutely covered in them. It's unfortunate because this is the closest pizza place to my work, but the service is so slow. I'd rather go to Little Ceasers and get it out of their portal. read more
