These are especially difficult times but knowing our Dad is at Crosby is such a relief to us. We look forward post-vaccine with the resumption of activities, the gym and guest lecturers. It was a daunting and emotionally difficult task for everyone in the family. Thank goodness for Atria! Our first interaction was with Frank Mastrone, the Community Sales Director. Frank listened attentively and understood our challenge. It was clear that he wanted a positive experience for my parents. There was no pressure or pushy sales pitches and we all felt comfortable throughout the process. I'll start with the facility: it's beautiful. The large and nicely appointed lobby opens on to the lounge, which in turn opens to the garden. Besides seating areas and paths around the flower beds, the garden has a fountain, koi pond and play area for the grandkids. It's lovely. The dining room is bright, spacious and the flowers and table linens give a sense of elegance. And the food! Wow! They had us at the appetizer. In addition to the dining room, there's a nice bistro with sandwiches, salads and snacks. We looked at one and two bedroom apartments as well as a studio. All were bright, fresh, airy and nicely furnished. My parents selected a west facing one bedroom unit and their sunset view is amazing. My dad enjoys the afternoon games and both enjoy the exercise and tai chi classes. They haven't yet availed themselves of the movie theater (super comfy) where there's a daily matinee and evening show, but they have enjoyed the concerts and live performances. Everyone on staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very caring with the residents. The nursing staff is attentive and really on top of the details; I'm very grateful for their care. Denese Brooks, the Executive Director, takes a personal interest in the family's experience and has been very helpful in figuring out logistical issues. I'm so happy that my folks are at Atria! I live on the opposite coast, so knowing that they're safe and well cared for is a big relief. More important, however, they are happy, comfortable, enjoying themselves and making new friends. They have been found guilty and are NOT in compliance with safety checks or communication. My grandmother was found covered in vomit and mucus for HOURS because they didn't check on her, in her memory care room!! They don't care about your loved one, they care about the money. They falsely reported giving her medications...but the time stamps were 3 DAYS AFTER SHE PASSED! They worked so hard to cover up many of their actions after her death. Don't walk away....Run. Your loved one deserves dignity, compassion, respect, and above all, care. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN HERE!

Floor nurses and CNAs are overworked. Unit managers never offer to help or even ask if we need…read morehelp. Medications aren't being ordered for patient. Nurses aren't putting in orders correctly. Turnover of staff is huge. Agency workers make up 50% or more of their staff. Poor pay for staff. Lots of favoritism. Employees talking in other languages other than English on units. Makes some families who visit uncomfortable.

The meals served are better then 4 other rehab centers I've been a patient in. Activities are available and quite varied. Cards, cooking groups, movies, crafts etc. You can be as busy as you want to be. PT staff does a good job at rehabbing patients that are willing to put in the effort.

Terrible experience having our elderly loved one here after hospitalization. Apathetic "care" and…read moreat times more like basic warehousing. Uncaring, robotic nursing staff, under-responsive supervisors & administrators. It was a nightmare watching our family member languish there while no amount of polite advocating seemed to make any difference. They appeared to be understaffed at most times, and the staff who were on duty were not always trained in the use of the medical equipment needed by our loved one, so we usually had to wait for the nurse supervisor on duty assist, or sometimes other professional therapists who weren't round the clock coverage like respiratory therapists, when we'd have to wait much longer for help. They always had an excuse as to why the persons on duty weren't trained on that equipment ... learned early on that here, like at some other facilities but not all, nurses on duty assigned to direct patient care are all LPNs or PCAs so that is why - some equipment requires RNs or RTs who are fully trained. So sometimes the shift supervisor on the floor who was the RN would have to do the hands on, and they were always so busy so it would have to wait, etc. Too many cost saving measures being employed that poorly affected the patients; more than obvious. Would never recommend. Such terrible memories here for our family.

The staff was wonderful, attentive, kind, and really nice people. This includes all staff I encountered--nurses, CNAs and nursing techs, physical therapists, housekeeping, kitchen and nutrition staff, maintenance, and administrative and medical personnel. The facility is extremely well maintained and clean. Food was very good and ample portions, and special requests were accommodated. Physical therapy was very effective--staff was very encouraging and respectful of my limitations, working toward progress and not over stressing. Nurses and techs were great. Personable and professional. I would go there again.

Of course, this is always a difficult decision for the family, but, Ridgefield Station has made this process and my father's transition as easy as possible. The staff provides excellent care and the perfect balance of allowing resident independence, while still providing proper oversight. All of the staff that deals with my father (and by extension, the family) has been very kind and caring. While there are many factors that go into making a decision of this magnitude, I would say that for the items Ridgefield Station controls, they do an outstanding execution of a tough job.

The team is caring, competent, and go above and beyond in their kindness to this population. I "pop in" often, always seeing residents engaged in activities, or relaxing in front the of fireplace (electric, of course), or sitting together in the dining room. The Compass Care facility is bright, modern, beautifully furnished, and full of natural light. Unlike others I toured, there no dark hallways or corners with residents slumped on sofas and chairs with no supervision. I cannot imagine a better place for these very special loved ones. I am an extremely demanding person, especially when it come to family, aren't we all, and Ridgefield Station is tops in my book.

When I arrived to do so at the appointment time the therapist suddenly had a family emergency and they canceled it. They also sent paperwork to his insurance saying he wasn't participating. They stole items out of his room and left him there for hours without checking on him. When he was sent to Griffin Hospital he was dehydrated and everything was shutting down and I lost my Dad 3/29/24. I've been getting a bill ever since he passed away for resident amount and he wasn't one. If I had to do all over again I would of never sent him there.

He was brought there on a stretcher, but after two weeks of physical therapy, he was up and running again (ok, maybe not running, but he was walking again). I was impressed with the progress the staff made with my father's rehabilitation. My interactions with the staff were positive and informative. My father actually enjoyed his stay here and liked the staff. Overall, it was a positive experience.
