I have been coming here for over 15 years and have always had a good experience. All the hygienists I have seen over the years have been great. Currently Carly is my hygienist and always takes care of me, telling me how to better take of my teeth. Dr. Casañas is the dentist I have been seeing from day 1. He has always been taking care of me with all sorts of dental work. He is someone I trust, always tells me the truth. I always take Carly and Dr. Casañas advice and recently I have been only going for cleanings. So far, no cavities. My dental health is good. They really care about their patients. Everyone, including office staff are polite and efficient and a pleasure to work with. They work well with my insurance. I highly recommend Meadowbrook Dental Care for dental work. read more

I used to go to meadowbrook and had an overall good experience. Not sure what happened to the previous dentists that actually care about their patients, but the new dentist has been the most unhelpful to my mother. My mother went in for a toothache and the dentist recommended that she do a deep clean then she would fill her cavity. This was about a month ago. My mother has done the deep cleans and still has a toothache and no relief. The cavity hasn't been filled. I don't know any dentist office or professional that would allow a patient to go untreated for so long. read more

Won't be back. They perform procedures you didn't ask for during annual insurance covered cleaning and x-rays. They lead you to believe these are all just part of the covered policies ( even when you ask to be sure ). Then you get hit with a bill for hundreds of dollars. You ask how ? They tell you insurance only paid for some. When you point out cleaning and x-rays are covered 100%, they finally tell you the various non-essential procedures they performed without informing you of the extra cost are going to cost you. They don't point out the costs in advance ( since you may very likely say " no thanks " ) which, in my opinion, is extremely unethical. They ate not a brand new practice just learning the ropes. So, I can only assume that this is how they do business. To me, that is much too shady for me to ever set foot in their offices again. read more

100% THE BEST! Chipped bonding I had on a front tooth while visiting from out of town, they got me in on a Saturday morning with Dr. Lomba! This tooth has been repaired many times yet none like this - I literally was tearing up I was so happy - you cannot see that it's bonded, the composite matches perfectly and she shaped the tooth exactly as the one next to it. Dr Lomba is AMAZING!!! 5 stars doesn't do her justice !! read more

Updated: Shortly after the review I was notified by phone that the collection against me was released and that Barbara was terminated. This was a minor relief but Barbara's actions drove me crazy. Now months later I felt the need to update this and edit slightly because I wish Ill will on no one and I know what reviews can do to a business. I wish I had been able to figure it out without the public review. I see people posting in favor of the office and I wish them well and thank them for rectifying the matter after the fact. Original edited: They dropped my insurance but didn't tell me until I was in the office for the visit. Then the doctor and one of the girls from the front desk said they would take care of it for this visit, Just without Floride, so i got a cleaning without Floride. Then the Insurance didn't pay them so they billed me. Then Sent me to collection. Then When I'm able to finally take time away from working to try and sort it all out, Barbara Boland tells me that if I pay her now, the insurance company will send me $75 by mail, like using the collection as some form of extortion. And the worst part is that the reason I ignored the first phones calls from them is because after they dropped my insurance I had to beg them to stop spamming me with marketing. Clean, modern dentist office. Everyone super nice and welcoming. The staff and dentists are AMAZING! Def one of the best dentist around. Very accommodating office. Also I will say this after reading a few of the reviews, I was made aware of any cost that might be due to me up front along with constant reminders via text, email and phone calls regarding upcoming appointments. Just like any other medical/dental practice, it's the patients' responsibility to know your deductible, co-insurance, and anything that might not be covered. You can't be upset with the doctors or staff, blame your insurance company. read more

Hmm. Don't know what the other reviews are about but I never had a problem with them. All I know is this. This place is the place to be. Usually little to no wait. Appointments are on time. Everyone is friendly. Hygienist are skilled at what they do. They made me feel comfortable and described what they were going to do before they did it. The reason I keep going back is because. Completely overpriced dental "spa". Had work done there over a year ago and now my new dentist tells me the work has to be re-done because I have problems developing under the over-priced cap. Unfortunately, once the cap is removed I have to get a new one. I could not recommend this place. Recently I had a bad toothache and one of my friends recommended this place.I booked my appointment with Dr Ahadin as she was the recommend one. Right from the making appointments to the actual visit, Meadowbrook Dental Care makes sure you have a great experience. You can tell that they really care for their patients Dr Ahadin's pleasing and bubbly personality half numbed my pain even before she actually got started. She did few quick Xrays and found the cause.With another half and hour of fixing up I was good to go. Not only is her touch very gentle but she is very good at what she does. Her cheerful personality definitely helps digressing the pain and she keeps you entertained with her talks.With the finesse she fixed my tooth, I don't think I will ever any aversion from going to a dentist. She is clearly one of the best dentists I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them. read more

Dr. Casañas is the best dentist I've ever met and known. His office is totally state of the art and they do things I've NEVER seen done in a dental office, like an oral cancer screen. I have taken friends and loved ones to this office because I trust him an his staff to really help them if dental work is needed, and to prevent any issues as well. I used to love this place when they first opened but now they're becoming greedy. I understand now every medical office has a cancellation fee , and I understand everyone's time is valuable. What I quite don't understand is how if you cancel an appointment two weeks before your actually appointment that counts against you. Also if you do not cancel within 48 hours it is a $50 cancellation fee. Now that by the way has lowered because my sister was a victim to a $80 fee before. If you ask me that is a set up , with every medical office being different in their policies , why isn't one notified or reminded in any of the mailing , texts , voice messages , email , smoke signals they use to remind you of an appointment. They dropped most insurance plans within the last year or so and choose not to tell you until you're in the dentist chair ready to go. It happened to me and most of my extended family who used to all go there because we initially liked the Dentists themselves a lot. None of us go anymore due to the billing practices. I've also received two bills with NO description of charges, meanwhile I know for a fact that everything I had done was covered (though considered out-of-network). It's laughable that their billing department is even sending out this notice hoping a fool would pay for it blindly. Such a shame. This practice really had a lot of potential. read more

Stay away. Far away. This business is completely dishonest. I had a crown, post, and root canal done by this place. Something was not right with my crown because food was getting stuck. So I went back. They said to give it another 2 weeks and that the crown looked great! I did not believe them and went to another dentist for a 2nd opinion. The new dentist said the new crown was over contoured and my other 2 crowns that were done by them were also bad. The new dentist referred me to a prosthodontist for a second opinion. He also said all 3 of my crowns needed to replaced. The other 2 crowns had open margins, but the root canals were phenomenol. The post they used were cheap. I went back to Meadowbrook and showed them the paper the prosthodontist had written up regarding what he had found. They agreed to refund me for the new crown, but not the old ones. The office manager was a complete robot. no apologies. nothing. They messed up my appointment twice. This place is a complete money making, unethical business. stay away. oh and they also fought me on the 100 discount they gave me for paying THEM the full amount. read more

I am a social worker with the NYC Dept of Education, and am covered by UFT dental insurance. I had used Meadowbrook and the experience was okay. Not as close as some, but okay. They called me back, and I went. When I was sitting on the chair, one of the office women came to tell me that they did not accept my insurance. I asked why they did not inform me as they were booking my appointment -- and got a complete excuse as an answer, something like "we only decided a couple of weeks ago." I explained that my appointment was booked after their decision and they should have told me. Otherwise, how could I continue the treatment I was starting there, if there would be no continuity due to their discontinuation of accepting my insurance? I reminded them that when I first sought them out 2 years ago, the first question I had was if they accepted my UFT insurance. They said yes. It was very embarrassing that this was brought to my attention as I was prepped and ready to begin and sitting on the chair already. Then, the woman said they would waive the fee for that day only and then we would see. I went ahead with the visit. After 4 digital X-rays, a cleaning, as well as fluoride and a new check up, at the time of payment, I was told that with the "out of network" payment of my insurance, the total of my visit would be over $370, which they waived, except the fluoride and part of the check up, which cost $60 even. So I ask: 1. why did they call me to come in as if nothing had changed? Why did they inform me that they were billing as "out of network" as I sat on the chair and not before? Meadowbrook has a lot of bells and whistles, and technology, and all... but the humane factor got lost in the shuffle somehow -- surprising because the founder appeared to be interested i helping those in need, at least in the publicity editorials posted in the office about his work in Africa, I believe. It was heart warming. I did not understand their posture and how it was done. Bottom line: my dad was an excellent dentist and surgeon with several academic degrees from IV League institutions and NYU. We were not rich, but we lived well and he accepted insurance, even medicaid, and helped many people who would never afford high level of care. I do miss him and his posture on social justice -- and he did not have to go abroad to do it. read more

I never thought I'd be raving about visiting a dentist office but Meadowbrook Dental Care goes that extra mile. I was skeptical of going to the dentist because of a horrible, painful experience I just had at a different practice. Upon arriving, ALL staff warmly greeted me which was awesome and surprising! Usually it's just the secretary signing you in but everyone was super warm and welcoming. I was given a tour of the office and was immediately impressed by the layout and upgraded technology. I loved that they had photographs around the office of the volunteer work they do all over the world. When I got to the room I'd be seen in, there was a little gift bag on the chair to welcome me to their practice! Dr. Miguel Casanas greeted me and got to know me a little before which made me feel less anxious! He took his time and explained everything. When I came back for my cavity fillings, I was amazed that I didn't feel any pain and was comfortable! The last place I was holding on to the chair for my life to then have fillings come out after 2 days. Dr. Casanas worked effeciently and made sure I was comfortable. I absolutely recommend Meadowbrook Dental Care to anyone looking for a great atmosphere, staff to help, and great dental work! read more

Warning, they come off very welcoming and knowledgeable, and before u know it you were bamboozled. It's not the traditional dentists office where your worked on by the dentist for a 45 minute appointment. At meadow brook it's like an assembly line - dentist works on you for 10 minutes then moves on to another patient, sees you again for another 5 minutes and so on and so on. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!!!!! My husband went in for the 1st time and wanted to see what work was going to be needed AFTER we got back from Europe in a month. He left not being to happy with the office and was thinking of looking to go somewhere else. Anyways we get back from Europe and I'm looking at my mail and i have a EOB from our dental insurance letting us know they paid Meadowbrook over 3 grand for all the procedures they billed meanwhile my husband never had them done it was just discussed then my next letter is from Meadowbrook letting me know what my remaining balance is for the procedures. How can you bill insurance and a patient for something that was never actually done? In the meantime that we were in Europe my youngest son was in pain so he went to Meadowbrook b/c they had the soonest appointment. They sat there telling my son we had to pay over a thousand dollars because our insurance wouldn't cover it. Thank god my oldest checked with the insurance and all we were responsible for was $250. read more

Everyone in this office is so friendly! From the second in walk in I feel so welcomed and not like I am going to a typical dental appointment. Making appointments are so easy and they offer great office hours. I love the text message reminders. My cleanings have been so thorough and informative. I have sensitive teeth and was given great recommendations for a new toothpaste to help. I had braces years ago and my overbite issue was never addressed. As I got older I was getting frequent headaches and jaw discomfort. I mentioned this to Dr. Casanas, who suggested Invisalign. It was way more affordable then I would have thought. It has been about a year now and the results are amazing! I smile with confidence and my headaches are completely gone! read more

Even though they are very nice and the place is clean, they act like a used car salesman, being very pushy and trying to get you to purchase all kinds of expensive and unnecessary procedures. They stopped taking a lot of insurance, and now they try to talk you into buying their "insurance". My daughter in law was in excruciating pain from a wisdom tooth that needed to be extracted. They told her that all 4 wisdom teeth were infected and would need to come out. But first, they said because of tarter they can't tell if she has any cavities so she would first need a deep cleaning and debridement. Isn't that what X-rays are for--to see if there are cavities?? Why would they need to know about her cavities before extracting her wisdom teeth anyway? So she left and made a few phone calls until she found an oral surgeon who takes her insurance. He told her that only 3 wisdom teeth need to come out because the 4th one is fine, that she does NOT need a deep cleaning, she only needs a regular cleaning and that Meadowbrook was just looking to make money off her.
