My father has been in Meadowbrook Manor for 2 yrs. Facilities are what they are & eventually you find yourself in need of one. Admittedly this one has need for some improvements, but it is clean, food is good staff is welcoming. It's not easy leaving a loved one in a facility, fear of how they'll be treated or looked after is a major concern. What eases my mind are some of the caregivers that handle my dad. Lisa Smith, Lisa Sutton, David & Juna have always shown my father respect & concerned care. They are always helpful & answer my concerns when questioned. Kwame, has been extremely good in helping him. One day he was changing him & was so patient. I thanked him & he replied it's important to treat them as you would want to be cared for . It was easy to see what a genuine good soul he has as was the same with the others I mentioned above. It's never easy having a family member in a facility, but it's a blessing to have people who seem to genuinely care for his welfare. read more

My dad has been with Meadowbrook for almost 2 years at the 3rd floor. I visit dad on all shifts 3-4x a week. And noticed that dad has been taken cared of like family, dad is always clean and well groomed, his room is always neat and tidy. Nursing staff always very active with other patients too besides my dad. I would definitely recommend MeadowBrook if you need a place for your loved ones. read more

The Therapy staff & my therapist Glenn i give 5 stars!! They are very knowledgeable and caring they are awesome. Nurses i give 5 stars they do a great job Cnas do a great job during day but at night it looks like they are under staffed it takes some time for someone to come probably could use more staff Food i give 1star needs a lot of improvement They keep hospital clean but place needs updating Because of some of staff it helped me have a good stay. read more

This is an overall good facility and like with everything you need to work out the kinks. Loretta the CNA supervisor on 2nd shift is wonderdul. She helps to smooth out some of the kinks, but she can't do it all. She needs help. Communication is needed from every area which is not quite there with everyone. This place is understaffed,those who are employed here .the good ones(very few) are amazing,the rest could give two craps about the patient.it took 2hours for a cna to "look" for a wedge and we only got one when another cna stepped in to help.we told a nurse the patient was pulling on the catheter line and she said they shouldn't do that tell them to stop (no kidding) the patient was not coherent.if the patient isn't awake or able to eat on their own,their not fed and some of their pain meds are in their pudding.the cna wasn't able to change or move the patient on his own,left him in soiled diapers asked family members to diaper or help sponge bathe the patient..definitely a sad place to be read more

Meadowbrook Manor has been amazing with my mom. Since I brought her in there a few years ago, they have taken care of her, like she is their own mother. She started on the 2nd Floor and Colleen and Kelly were so helpful in making her feel comfortable. She is now on the 3rd Floor Memory Care. The 3rd floor, including Colleen, Barb, Chris, Erma and Isabel and the whole team has been so AWESOME. They really care about my mom and the other patience. I witness their kindness through and through. Thank you for making my mom comfortable and being far away, it's hard to see her a lot and they are always giving me updates and also FaceTiming and calling me with her on the phone. We all know that nursing home rehab facilities are pretty awful because of staff storages and the pay sucks. My father died there and my mother was there at the same time for a broken hip. She kept getting an intestinal bacterial infection which basically killed her since she was so weak from it she couldn't even do her necessary rehab. Finally brought her home where she passed away. I also believe Bolingbrook Hospital (across the street) contributed to her death. That is a whole other review. Stay away from both places read more

My Brother was in your Bolingbrook Facility last week he died on Sunday March 26 2023 at 9:45 am he was under hospice care when your nurse came in the room pronounced him dead she said she would call hospice Which we found out hospice was never call we sat in the room with my brother for 5 hours thinking we were waiting for hospice This was a awful experience ok 3 days later I get a call from your facility asking how lon is doing You need to work on your Communication while we were waiting in the room Two nurses came in wanting to make his bed didn't realize that he had passed away He had a roommate which you promised to keep out of the room he tried to come 3 times in that 5 hour read more

The long and short of this review is this: take your loved one somewhere else. My father spent 10 weeks at Meadowbrook following a fall. We did not have a lot of time to consider options for rehab when he was released from the hospital. We were limited to facilities that had openings and accepted his insurance. It seemed most facilities had some bad reviews and Meadowbrook was a more convenient location. We figured, "How bad could it be?" It is exactly as bad as the reviews said. We should have heeded the warnings. Rather than chronicle every offense my father endured during his stay, I will summarize the grievances. The facility is poorly managed. The top administration is horrifically ineffective. There is an overall feeling of disorder and disorganization. The lack of leadership has a ripple effect throughout the entire facility. Policies are inconsistently enforced (are masks required or not?) and there seems to be no discipline or urgency among staff. It was not unusual to see staff sitting around on their cell phones while nearby patients were ignored. The facility is understaffed. The nurses and CNAs complained regularly about their high patient load due to lack of staff. This results in poor care for patients and a demoralized workforce. On countless occasions, I witnessed patients, including my father, wait for more than an hour to receive basic care like pain medication or toileting assistance. This is particularly dangerous if the patient is vulnerable and unable to move on their own. The communication is astonishingly poor. This was especially problematic during the transfer from the hospital but also throughout my father's stay. No one seems to be on the same page-nursing staff, PT staff, social workers, external agencies, families. It was not uncommon to ask a question more than once and get different answers each time. The food is awful. I know institutional cooking is a challenge but nutrition is a key part of healing. We had to supplement my father's meals heavily to prevent him from losing any more weight while he was there. I would be remiss if I allowed you to believe there are no redeeming qualities to this facility. The physical and occupational therapists were great. Their tireless work helped my father gain the strength he needed to be released. There are a couple of nurses and CNAs who were absolute rockstars. They gave the best care possible under very trying circumstances. These people are the reason we didn't transfer my father to another facility. If your loved one ends up at Meadowbrook, know that you will need to check on them daily. You will need to advocate for their care constantly. Between my mother and siblings, someone was with my father for several hours every single day. I'm sure they were relieved when he was released because we were relentless. It should not have to be that way. If you have other options for care, use them. read more

DO NOT send anyone you care about to this facility. My mother was there for physical therapy after having total hip replacement. From the time she was admitted it was no good. For the sake of length I will hit the highlights of her stay.. on day 3 she was taken to the bathroom and left on the toilet. nobody returned or answered the call light.. after 25 min my mom somehow got herself back to bed.. she complained and was told to use the bathroom at 5am instead of 6:20 am because that time is getting close to the change of shifts. also on day 3 she was given a document to sign that was more than 60 pages with "sign here" tabs.. the document was an agreement to be a permanent resident for 1 year from date of signing... she was only suppose to be there for PT then return to her home.. they also placed a post it note on the document stating she can sign independently meaning she didn't need anybody else to read the 66+ pages ...there was never a plan of care developed, she had physical therapy for 45 min for the first 4 days.. after therapy was done she was left in bed for rest of the day.. we asked for a chair that was appropriate height for a hip replacement. It took three days to get one put in the room ..on day 5 she was offered a shower for the first time since being there.. after day 4 she never had physical therapy again which was the only reason why she was there.. we signed out AMA after being there a week... I could write a chapter about the shady business and care that we experienced but the take away is this place is terrible.. aesthetically it looks nice but underneath the appearance it is no good. My mom is fortunate that I have been in healthcare for over two decades, and I was able to advocate for her and recognize right away to poor quality of care that was being delivered. This facility is ran like a nursing home with a rehab label Slapped on it. I feel sorry for those who don't know any better or don't know how to work the system. There were a few good caregivers and the physical therapists were good but outside of those "few" people it's terrible!! please look at other facilities and if you choose this place good luck! read more

My father was a patient at meadowbrook manor. He was looked away and forgotten about because the Covid scare. My family was reluctant to get the experimental "vaccine" for my father. That's when they began to treat him/us like second class citizens. They would call and harass us about getting him the jab. They then dangled a carrot in front of us, and the "care providers" said if you want to be able to visit with him again he needs to be vaccinated. Against my wishes my family decided to let them experiment on my father. He was given the shot and 6 months later he died. He was a healthy 185 pounds when he was placed in to their "care". When he died he weighed 104 pounds and looked like a skeleton. Demented stroke victims don't fair very well being locked up and not assisted with eating i guess. I'm not a scientist. He didn't have the additional problems he developed before the Covid shot that consequently killed him. Meadowbrook forced us to get that shot and that is sick and twisted. "Don't you want to see him again? Safe and effective." Our desire to see him and their requirements to do so killed him. Shame. Shame on you. read more

This looks nice but don't be fooled. My mother was here and she started to develop bed sores. I don't know if it is because they are short staffed or the just don't care. It took both of my sister awhile to convince my mother to have some form of will to live and get out of here. While visiting my mother here patients would call for nurses and it took them awhile to respond. It very hard when a loved one needs a lot of medical care. While my mom was here she lost the will to live, I glad my sisters did a great job to get her out of here. I never seen my mother like that before. So think twice before send a loved one to any place like this and don't be afraid to pull them out if they get worst being here if you do send them. read more

"A Refreshing Experience that I had to Share" A little background on how my mom landed as Meadowbrook. My mom suffered a nasty fall in the home that resulted in fractured pelvis and a nasty gash in her head that required stiches. After a four day stay in the hospital, inpatient care was recommended to us. My mom actually lives in Chicago, but I live in the Western suburbs and my brother works in the area as well, so when searching for a facility, convenience and location was our main concern. As with many, having a loved one in a facility whether it's short stay or extended, can be a scary experience. The idea of my mom being somewhere other than her home brought about many emotions. My mom was transferred to Meadowbrook on 09/25 and her stay extended thru 10/15. Upon her arrival the intake process was seamless. She was taken to her room and various exams and test were performed. The exam was based on the injuries she sustained in the fall. Her medications were reviewed and the rest of the first day was spent on getting settled. She came in during lunch time so she received lunch shortly after arriving. Let's speed up this review up a bit because I can be wordy . Please keep in mind, my mom stayed in the short stay wing so all staff references and experiences are based on the short stay area. For the loved one, it may be a good idea to bring all of their toiletries as well as any other familiar articles that may make them feel at ease. Blankets, towels, bedding and any scents would be good. Meadowbrook provides laundry services if needed but the family also has the option of handling those services as well. We participated in the many activities offered at Meadowbrook such as Yahtzee and Bingo. Meadowbrook also has movie night on Friday's, chocolate chip cookies for residents nightly and a cozy living room area with a Kitchen and eating area for residents as well as their families. The living room area is where I met many other residents and their families which added to the close knit feeling that we had while staying there. The Physical and Occupational therapy team at Meadowbrook was phenomenal. After a brief screening assessment on day two, therapy began with sessions each day. Some days my mom actually received both PT and OP on the same day. Progress in both my mom's gait and mobility was seen by us in less than a week. When she arrived at Meadowbrook, she experienced pain in most any movement. After a couple of weeks of therapy, she still experienced pain but it was more related to soreness from activity and exercise. Pain medication minimized with each day of therapy and if any medication was needed, Tylenol was sufficient. When she arrived she was actually taking Tramadol for pain. In getting to know a few of the residents as well as their families, I'd say everyone had mixed reviews on the food. My mom actually like every dish she had during her stay. I was impressed with more than a few of the lunches and dinners my mom received. The smell and presentation was inviting and portions were perfect. Some seniors have smaller appetites and I've noticed with my mom that sometimes too much food can be overwhelming for her. I have only one negative blip during our stay that I share only to also mention that my concerns were fully noted and addressed. On the second day of my mom's stay, her aide assigned during the day left her unattended in the bathroom for a longer than acceptable period of time. I was actually on the phone with her during this time so I was able experience how long she was left alone directly. I addressed by concerns later that day to Meadowbrook's Administrator Amy. She carefully and intently listened to my concerns and assured me that what we experienced was unacceptable and would not happen again. I thank you so much Amy for taking our concerns seriously and ensuring that the rest of my mom's stay would be worry free. I have some special shout out's to some of the staff: Nurse Joe Joe - It was such a pleasure. Your smile and gentle demeanor put my mom at ease each day. Nurse Rea - We always looked forward to seeing you come in. Always so patient and kind to my mom and always made us feel welcome when we were there to visit. Nurse Priyaka - What can I say? You are exceptional. That day with the lost partial was epic. Without you, the partial would have been lost forever. We are so grateful to you and your extra service. I can't say enough positive comments when it comes to Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville. After researching many facilities and finally choosing this home/rehab center, my father was sent here for rehabilitation due to a broken leg. That coupled with terminal cancer that spread throughout his body made the task of rehabilitation very difficult. The physical therapy staff was tremendous working with my father. They were encouraging, caring and thorough. They kept me up to date on my fathers progress and in many cases setbacks. The nurses and caregivers were also wonderful, caring, compassionate and understanding. I would name names but I am sure that I would forget someone along the way. The compassion that was shown included the social worker, receptionist(s), nurses, caregivers, house keeping staff, physical therapists and administration. I will also say that I have no affiliation with this facility other than my dad being a resident there for multiple months. This is a completely unbiased review.
