The staff had no idea as to why she had labored breathing and was unresponsive...add to that they had her placed on some sort of inflatable mattress that wasn't inflated so it was if she was sinking into the "bed". She had been there for 5 hours without fluids, they couldn't get a Dr to approve fluids which is utterly insane to say the least. moreover we heard a social worker talking about hospice. If I saw her today... believe me that my sister and I would share our minds with her. Thank God I had my Mom's Neurosurgeons nurses cell phone #... I called and they took her out of there immediately by ambulance to Silver Cross. She was on her way to dying and the staff couldn't even manage to understand that there was a problem. How is this considered educated care? I could do a better job and in a totally different industry! She made a full recovery because of Silver across and is alive today. I would NEVER in a million years put anyone that I loved in this facility. They never once called to follow up because they knew they were negligent and would be in hot water. I wanted to sue them but I needed to focus on our family. Lucky for them.

They also have this job posting on indeed which is totally the opposite than what i was offered in the phone. I am so confused that They have a contract with an agency and willing to pay $50 an hour to agency nurse but will not pay fair salary to the staff nurse? Stay away from this place

While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. Jennings Terrace is a very special place. My mom is there and she is 100 years old. It's the kind of place that sincerely cares about people. The staff is exceptional at what they do and exceptional at understanding people from different walks of life. They are able to have compassion for my mom and her health or mental health difficulties that we all have at times throughout life. I am so thankful that my mom is at Jennings Terrace. There are a lot fancier places, but I don't think there is more skill or care or compassion in those places. This is home for my mom and she is happy there. We decorated her room and she loves it. She goes and sits out by the big cozy fireplace and watches a movie with other residents when the weather is cooler. And, when we walk in are usually greeted by someone who gives us a smile or a group of people playing games and laughing in the game room. This is home for my mom and I am so thankful to Esther, Daphne, Diana, Keosha, Diane and all the other staff members that I haven't named that make sure that things run smoothly. The Pearl is absolutely not a good live in rehabilitation center. No care plan is ever provided. They are woefully understaffed. In my opinion they are more concerned about money than the patients. In my opinion, from what I saw, they take horrible care of patients! Non responsive nurses and staff; tried to give incorrect medication to my relative more than once!! STAY AWAY!!!
