Teachers meet students where they are at and help them grow. Social-emotional development is also a big area of focus. Students are kind towards each other and they engage in projects to teach them things like gratitude and appreciation for others. FWA also has a great sense of community. If there is ever a concern school leadership is there to listen and help any way they can. I'm so glad I found this school for my child.

My daughter had Mrs. Lautigar and I expressed to her teacher several times that I felt she had dyslexia ( I had it, my mom, and my grandmother) the signs were there and she brushed me off. Her grades were declining and I finally sent an email to the Principal, Vice Principal, and the Special Education teacher. After months of asking for testing she finally received testing in fall of 2024. She did not receive results until a month before school ended. So my child struggled all school year due to the lack of understanding, urgency, and care. My son on the other hand had Mrs. Wooldridge and I absolutely loved her, if I gave stars it would be just for her. Her efforts in the classroom was very evident and she truly cared for her kiddos.

And there is a reasonable amount of h/w per night. I remember the pre-k teachers and how sweet and considerate they were. I remember being held and comforted when I was sad :) If you have any emotional struggles you will find kind and loving friends there to comfort you. Though the lower campus DOES have an issue dealing with bullies, it has gotten better. And because of them, the person who used to physically abuse me has COMPLETELY changed and has become a better person. They have also trusted in Christ more. Side-note: If you or your child feels uncomfortable with anything or anyone, you can just ask a member of the faculty if you and them can talk later.

This elementary school in the heart of Fort Worth is a gem. Such a gem that I wavered on even…read moreshouting it out online. This hundred year old school has the best staff, teachers, and as a result students I have ever witnessed in a public school. They had activities for the children to participate in every month and cute ways to involve the parents in all of them. It is a quiet small community that do any and everything to make sure those children want for nothing and get an education that rivals any private school. We moved at the end of this year and not being in that district and, that school anymore breaks my heart. It is honestly the best. I love Sweet Lily B.
