My second visit a bit better than the first. Joined by Ben, Dora and James for a super Saturday of golf. With all the rain, warm temps and sunshine the course was lush and green. The greens were in top condition and all were green except for one that had some dirt patches. Of course that's where my ball always lands. The Fairways were better than fair and much better than my last visit. This course has is laid out as a 27 hole ciourse with three nine hole courses. Today we played the Water Fall and the Longest Hole combined nines to get in our 18. The longest hole is 841 yards and par 6. an exceptional and challenging hole that will test your ability and approach stragey. An awesome weather day with family on the links. I did have word with the Manager about the 18th hole. The adjacent driving range has a tattered and worn net designed to keep balls off the 18th fairway but on this day, that area was littered with balls. Not very fun to search for your drive among a sea of balls that all look alike. He was receptiive and immediatley dispatched a team to shag the balls from that area. Ben & James were not happy that they couldn't play their excellent drives. He did say they had budgeted for a higher net to be installed this year. I would caution against playing that hole until ithat net is installed.

I booked the Harbor Club room for my daughter's Sweet 16 tea party for 20 guests. I was told by…read moreJenelle Lavarine, Director of Sales and Marketing, that the venue fee was $1,600, and I took her at her word. Later, Katie Simpson accidentally sent me the January 2026 Catering Guide, which listed the venue fee as $950. Since I signed my contract in January 2026, I asked why my pricing did not match the guide. I was then told that I was paying more because my event was classified as a quinceañera. When I asked to see documentation reflecting that pricing structure, I was sent a "quinceañera guide" that appeared to have been created the same day. It did not match the formatting or structure of the previously sent catering guide and did not include the room rate for the Harbor Club, which is the room I reserved. It listed the larger ballroom, The Cove, at $2,000 for private events held Sunday-Thursday, yet my event was scheduled for a Saturday. There were multiple inconsistencies. When I questioned the discrepancies regarding the date and pricing, I was then told I may have received "special pricing" because my event was a Sweet 16 and not a quinceañera, which contradicted the earlier explanation that I was paying more specifically because it was being treated as a quinceañera. Due to these inconsistencies and the lack of clear, transparent pricing, I chose to cancel my reservation. Unfortunately, I will lose my $1,000 deposit that I paid on January 21st. While losing that money is painful, I ultimately decided peace of mind was more important than continuing to invest additional funds with a company I no longer felt confident in.

The wine selection was very small and overall the cocktail hour was very dull without many options for drinks, the portions being served were very tiny and almost not worth the wait. The only good thing about this place was the decoration and the aesthetic of the place.

This is my third time playing a round of golf. I played…read more9-holes and to warm up hit the range and putting area. The Range was emblematic of the entire course. The option to tee off the grass was closed and too the mats I went. They mats looked like they saw better days(like the greens). The one I used was faded out and wrinkled as opposed to flat, which I said to self, it's like playing in real conditions where there are bumps and such. The distance markers according to their legend were supposed to be colored coded but they weren't. The range balls were dirty and the range was full of previously hit balls. It looked like they are still recovering from COVID as if they were closed and just reopened. As you can tell in the pic the greens are leas than ideal. About 6/9 greens looked this bad or worse. Their practice putting area is much worse. The bright spot was I saw a hawk or falcon in its natural habitat foraging for food. That was cool. The staff was ok, not spectacular. The club house has a old feel-vibe. In short, Lee's Hill looked like they gave up on improving it before COVID or the late 90's.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME NOR MONEY. This is a terrible place…read moreto play. Greens are infected with a multitude of different grasses. Bunkers are a joke. The rakes are a novelty because there is zero sand in the bunker. They might as well start mowing their bunkers because the weeds growing from them are taller than your pitching wedge. There is zero golf etiquette, groups in front play incredibly slow 20 minutes a hole. Groups behind play best ball from the front tee box. As a local of over 20 years playing here for the first time, this will certainly be my last. Stick with Northern VA, central VA. If you're local just go to Fredericksburg Country Club. Do not waste your time. $81 per 18 holes is a complete joke. Coming from $38-$42 pre-11AM tee time 18 hole courses in Sonoma California there is clearly a discrepancy and lack of knowledge in maintaining a golf course. If you have enough land, just mow your yard and play there. Absolutely bypass this pathetic course.

I went on Mother's Day to see the Chris Ryan band, and it was a lovely day…read more There is a stage for the band, there is a playground for kids, there are animals that are very friendly, including a very noisy peacock and a peahen. One side of the main building is the winery area, and the other side is the brewery area, the signage is a little hard to decipher, but it's pretty easy to figure out by asking. The wines were delicious, I tried a white and a red, and Anna, who served me, was very patient with my questions, even though the line was long. I appreciated that and I didn't feel rushed. The other young lady also helped me, and the staff was incredibly nice, even though the line was very long. There are multiple picnic tables out in the open area in front of the stage, and there's a lovely seating area right in front of the winery and around the side, and there's even a little hidden grotto that's very pretty. They have lights outside, so it probably looked very pretty after dark too. If you want to sit at the picnic tables, pick one under a tree, because the sun does get pretty brutal. I also recommend possibly bringing something to sit on, or you can bring a blanket and sit in the grass. I brought a large cooler with a picnic,, and they did come and inspect it, but it was fairly perfunctory. I brought my own nonalcoholic things to drink, in glass bottles, and I had my own glass, and there was not an issue with that. I would advise bringing some food, as at this gathering I think the only food truck was a pizza truck. When I had gone before, they gave the option of a fruit and cheese platter, but I didn't see any this time. I think the food trucks rotate, but you could probably call and ask. It's a lovely place, but if you don't know where you're going, you might miss it, so look for the sign in and a white truck with black lettering with the name of the brewery and the Vineyard on it. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this for an afternoon, and they have rotating bands that play, and it makes for a lovely day out.
