Portugal comes to you! Not only in a bottle, but the vineyard grounds are impressive and evokes old world European style. There are also several antique garages there that house cars, motorcycles, and even a firetruck! Joe the owner is personable and will tell you about his collection and his personal favorites. The staff here are also very knowledgeable and friendly! Truly a classic wine tasting experience that is worth stopping by and stating a while to pursue the grounds for photo ops that are instagram worthy!

A Saturday wine tasting with my Lady friends was in order. We've been to many wineries in Virginia and I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful establishment for the first time. Yes, it can get little noisy with a large indoor crowd but everyone was enjoying their stay, so the noise cancels out or maybe it was just the enjoyment of the experience. We were greeted immediately and very pleased with our service. Unfortunately, there the usual food trucks were not available but it was recommended and welcomed to order from a local Italian food business for a quick delivery. All of my lady friends selected the $15 wine tasting, which included all 12 of their everyday listed wines and a charcuterie plate for each purchase but did not include the limited edition wines. I'm typically a red wine fan but I was pleasantly surprised by their Sauvignon blanc. I would like to experience the winery on the outside when the weather is warmer but even a little rain didn't keep us away. Thank you to Cathy and the staff for helping us get a win out of the weekend.

No more than an hour drive from the beltway and you will arrive at this little piece of tranquility in Virginia wine country. Since, I visited in October I tried the Halloween flight which consisted of four wines samples that were paired with a piece candy. Out of the four tasted I preferred the rose. I was curious about the cherry wine and ordered a glass. I ended taking home a bottle because it was so good.

I did not have any food here unfortunately! Service at the bar was absolutely fantastic (thank you to the gentleman that was serving us). I highly recommend the deluxe wine tasting. It came with a small meat and cheese tray which was delightful - not sure if I can count that as food? Haha! Wines and ambience were perfect. Definitely stop by here for a tast

We called ahead for a reservation as we had a group of 6. The tasting room manager was quick to respond and very accommodating. The tasting room itself is circular and has limited indoor seating (but lots of outdoor seating) so I would definitely recommend a reservation on weekends if you have a group. Otherwise there's bar seating in the middle with stools for 1 or 2 ppl to easily have a tasting. They offer cheese plates and packaged snacks for a fee, but you can also bring your own food. Large selection of wines + some sherries and liquors; all of which were estate or virginia grown. I really liked the red blend, Cabernet Franc and the cherry cordial. I would love to visit again!

We love this vineyard because they make fantastic dessert wine. The owner is originally from Portugal where originated port wine. There are many picnic tables outside and horses in fenced area. Even our kids can run around and enjoy themselves. When we came by, they had German food truck. It was nice to hang out outside and relax and enjoy wine tasting. We took Cherry, Moscato and Sauvignon blanc to home. Great venue and great wine

Amazing venue/winery hidden all the way in Bealeton, VA. I've come here a few times and tasted all of the wines that they offer and have not been disappointed. It has a beautiful setting outside in the front and is great sight for any weddings or cute dates to the winery. They have a great selection of wines and majority of them are delicious!! I prefer sweet wines and they have some good selections of them. Oh..and they have WINE SLUSHIES!! OMG they are freaking good!! You have to get one if you go! On the inside, there is a large ballroom for large events and parties. As far as the groom's and bride's suites they are totally opposite. On one side you have a cute little mini house that looks like a makeup/hair salon that any bride would gawk over. ...and then you have the suite for the men.... A basement with a couple of tables and chairs. It looks so basic and plain. There's nothing that shows any kind of manly personality whatsoever. I could possibly imagine how those jails that celebs go to instead of the real prison and mirror it with the groom's suite. But hey it shouldn't really matter for the man..its only just one of the BIGGEST decisions of your life. It would be nice to have a nice space to ponder it. Overall this place is an enchanting place to visit and I recommend it to anyone who wants to be married or just to grab some wine.

My friends and I met here last week for several celebrations since it's about halfway from Charlottesville Northern VA. We were there on a Friday, so it wasn't too crowded. The service, ambiance, and the wine was all fantastic. The serve was very flexible with our requests to alter our tastings. It was absolutely the perfect place and we will definitely return!

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day at Morais Vinyards. I came with friends to attend a wine pairing with Indian food. It's the first pairing event I've been to here and it was exceptional. I love Indian food. The next event is May 22nd and it's Caribbean themed.

My good childhood friend and I decided to stop on by after coming from sky diving. This place is sooo beautiful. We literally had a flight of wine each and it was just great energy. We also ate cheese platter. We weren't from the area but the view of being out there was definitely something beautiful to see. Plus it was such a nice day out why not enjoy the fun

I visited Morais one weekend afternoon by myself for a tasting. I tasted the entire range of wines that were available. The wines are presented with a small tasting plate of various edibles: cured meats, cheese, baked goods, and chocolate. Your wine pourer will instruct you as to which food item to taste with the various wines. Overall, I enjoyed the tasting! At the end, they serve you a small tasting of a wine slushie. I had never tried one of these - and it sounded disgusting to my mind. But in execution - it was really, really good! I'd like to come back here with friends and do another tasting and enjoy a glass of wine! #MoraisVineyardsandWinery

Ask the Community - Morais Vineyards & Winery

Does Morais have any new rules around COVID?

Do I need to make reservations for a tasting for a group?

If you have a very large group I would recommend it so they can accommodate you. If its a small group you can just walk yp to the tasting bar, it's quite large.

Does Morais have wifi connection available on the property?

    Yes, it is under "Guest"

Hello! Does Morais allow dogs on the property?

Hi Amanda, We welcome dogs on our property outside of the buildings, not inside.

Dog friendly & family friendly. Lots of locals were constantly dropping by, and all seemed to be on a first-name basis with the staff. Rogers Ford has a 'make yourself at home' vibe to it, AND it makes great wine. My favorite continues to be the Petit Verdot, which has an incredible nose and is my favorite Petit in all Virginia. This time around I learned the previous wine maker (OK - the owner's dad) was the first Virginia grower to make a 100% Petit Verdot back in 2002, after he realized it grew well enough here that he didn't need to blend it with anything. I found two new wines since my last time, and had a new vintage of the port-style. The new white wine is a Vidal Blanc which was fairly sweet, and seemed to be a hit with a lot of customers. The new red was a 2014 Cab Sav. I found the Sav surprisingly peppery; it was newly bottled so some time would help it, but it was already more than drinkable. The Chardonnay was still good - all steel, no malolactic fermentation. The Rose was too sweet for me, but I still enjoy the Sherry-style Brandy Station Dulce a lot. The Sangiovese is gone! (Cue tears). The 'most improved' was the 2014 "Snake Castle" port-style (also made with Petit Verdot). I liked this MUCH better than the 2012 vintage; in fact, it could eventually displace the Petit Verdot as my favorite.

Another great vineyard. The wine was excellent and our tasting guide "Joanna" (sorry if I spelled her name incorrectly) did a fantastic job guiding us through the different flavors. They had a great selection from dry to sweet and we walked away from the vineyard with a bottle of their Jacob Christopher Chardonnay. Wine tasting is subjective, which is why some wines are delicious to some and just okay to others. One thing that isn't subjective is bad wine and Rogers Ford does not have bad wine!!!!
