I ordered the mean fried egg burger. I'm not a big fan of mayo so I asked for no mayo add mustard. I also asked for my egg to be cooked over easy. Well my egg was cooked over well. Okay no big issue, but when we got home I looked at the bill and noticed I was charged .25 cents to change from mayo to mustard REALLY!! If I was told there would be a charge that, I would have a choice to agree or have a different burger. Check your receipts or when ordering ask if there is an additional fee. 25 cents can add up. read more

Old school thick burgers just like Dad used to make them. Umpteen choices of toppings and the onion rings are the best side in the house. Has a great toasted bun that I haven't had before - definitely made the burger. Don't recommend the double because you are not likely to be able to eat that much unless you are a football player. The name of the place caught my eye and I decided to call them to place an order. They don't accept orders over the phone, so I went in and placed an order to go. I ordered a Mean Burger with cheese and added Mayo and extra pickles, along with a side of regular fries and a sweet tea. I must say that the burger was one of the best ones I've ever tasted! They didn't add any pickles to my order, which greatly irritated me because I love lots of pickles on my burgers. However, even with no pickles, the burger was excellent. The bread, slightly sweet and toasted just so, along with the meat and cheese were cooked perfectly and all of the flavors meshed well. It was a perfect home style burger! The fries were good as well and the sweet tea was definitely flavorful and sweet. I don't live in the area, but I will definitely be back. read more

Visited Mean Burger for the fourth time today... I can now say without any doubt, this is arguably the best hamburger I have ever sank my teeth into. I have tried the Mean Burger w Cheese and Bacon twice, the Mean Jalapeno Cream Cheese burger, and my new favorite today - the Mean Bleu Cheese burger. Also it'd be a crime not to mention the buns. Fantastic! And it's a no-brainer that I'll be going back as there are about 17 more burgers on the menu that I need to try. Regarding sides, I've only had the garlic fries and the fries with cheese and bacon which are both top-notch. And again so many more to try. And the young lady that works behind the counter is so friendly and has a smile that lights up the restaurant! If there were more stars to give, I would. Highly recommended. read more

I hate to be the first person to give Mean Burger four stars. it's a good burger; however, the patty was over-cooked and dry. It wasn't juicy at all, as several have mentioned. There were no pickles and the bun was not lightly toasted, which is not a problem at all. The person taking our order asked if I wanted mayo. I said YES, I love mayo! He failed to say it was an extra 25¢. The owner explained the reason behind that. I completely understand. Next time, I'll bring my own! The onion rings were the best!!! I will be back! I'll just have to mention that I don't want it well done. Simple solution to a minor problem. read more

We were up on Fm 1960 running errands and my wife wanted a decent burger not a franchised fast food burger. Hit Yelp and Mean Burger was 0.2 mi away right across FM 1960. I had heard a lot of people saying it was good so we gave it a try. I had the standard Mean Cheeseburger and my wife had the Mean Mushroom burger. At a new restaurant I always order the standard stuff first. Such as at a Mexican Food Restaurant I order Beef Fajitas or Cheese Enchiladas. If you can't make the standards good I am not likely to be back. The Cheeseburger was very good. I ordered it all the way. Solid flavor. It's what a simple cheeseburger should be. Decent size, really all you need. My wife said her burger was good too. O-rings we're ok. We will probably try some of their fries when we come back. Definitely it goes on our list of places to eat. Pretty good size menu. Lots of choices. Staff was super nice and service was pretty fast. They were not that busy. Based on a fast food hamburger combo is about $10 or more these days their price was fair. Give them a try. I think most people will like them. Good to support local owned businesses. read more

This place has the best burgers on the North and Northeast sides of Houston. Everything is made fresh and hot. Even the patty will burn your mouth if you aren't careful. The Cajun garlic fries are the bomb. Fast and friendly service. I like to add the fried egg to my burger. The buns are homemade and thin. Best buns ever. They even have bunless and vegan options. Just moved to the area and my partner stumbled across this place while out one day. I just tried it and I am impressed with all aspects. I walked in and the girl at the front was very friendly, helpful, and greeted us with a smile at all times. They have a beyond party option for vegan/vegetarian friendly option. It is delicious! Their fries aren't my favorite type but they are fresh and I'll order them again! They even have a burger salad option for those that are gluten intolerant. Very good burger place! I got the Bleu cheese burger and it was great. The bun has a slight sweetness and you can tell it's homemade. My husband got cream cheese jalapeño burger and it was also very good. We did not even need to add extra condiments. The beef is clearly 100% angus and you get a pretty thick patty.
