Another visit and it appears owner and management changed again recently. Gone are the combos from last change and my last review. Back to à la cart menu. $$$ compared to national chains, we ordered Jax and Baja burger, fries and onion rings and drinks. $37.00 for 2 people.. Over all the burgers, fries and onions are really good. Service is friendly and plenty of seating. Interior seems the same. 2 things that I wish were better is the fountain drinks are no name and taste a little off. The sweet tea is an odd lemon flavor and not sweet enough. It says sweetened tea not sweet tea. The other is the parking lot is tiny and needs some repairs and better markings. read more

My husband and I visited this place a while back and we got the burger and fries and a drink first let me start off by saying the staff was friendly and the place was clean it gave me modern burger joint vibes. They were nice and helpful since it was our first time there however, the food was pretty good the only thing we weren't too happy about were the drinks. I'm not too sure what kind of drinks they had but we didn't like any of them. But overall if you want a good burger and good fries and good sauce that they had. I would definitely recommend this place. Just don't get a fountain drink from there cause they're not the branded ones and I usually like Dr Pepper Coke, but they didn't have that there that's just my preference. read more

We stopped by for lunch during the weekday. Our order was taken fairly quick and it arrived to our table shortly after. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with Cajun fries and a footlong hotdog with sweet potato fries. Both were hot, fresh and delicious! We dined in, they have a pretty large seating area in addition to outdoor seating. Overall it was pretty good! read more

We went on a Friday afternoon and there was hardly anyone in there but my husband and I were super impressed with this place! Friendly service, the burger was pretty massive. The patty was thick and so juicy and tasty. The sweet potato fries were good, on the salty side. The shake was so good. For the price you really can't beat this... lots of seating options, some outdoor patio covered area seating as well. Parking lot wasn't huge, I could see it running out of space at busy times. Their menu is simplistic - not overwhelming at all. I would come back here! read more

Driven past here so many times and finally stopped in on a Friday evening around 6:30. Not crowded at all, lots of seating both indoor and outdoors. You walk in and there's a large menu board with quite a few things to choose from. I ordered the Jax cheeseburger with fries and a shake, that came out to about $22. I dined in so just grabbed a high-top and waited, it honestly didn't take long at all. The food was hot and fresh, it's a solid burger honestly! We stopped through for a quick bite before going to the light park which was nice because it's literally right across the street. Not sure if perhaps it was close to closing time or what but our food was not the same as it used to be when we came before which was probably a good year ago. We got a grilled cheese, turkey burger, basic cheese burger and a bacon cheeseburger with a bunch of various style French fries. The fries were unfortunately overdone and over seasoned. Turkey burger was dry and no seasoning. Best part was probably the bacon cheeseburger since our boy devoured it. When you walk in there was a musty smell and may have possibly been the reason to the start of the not so pleasant experience. Server at the register is a sweet lady but again I think perhaps since they were close to closing time they may have been tired and done for the day because in the past our experience here was always great which is why we wanted to stop by here before our light park visit. read more

We stopped in for a burger after a festival in the Woodlands. The weather was great so we sat outside on the patio! The staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful with recommendations. Jax burgers is one of my favorite burgers only this visit we sat against the wall and a small flying roach was literally 1/2 a foot away from my wife so I mentioned it to the manager, told her my wife will jump on the table she's petrified of roaches and at first told her kidding, throw in a burger and I would keep it quiet and she said do what you need to do. An exceptionally good burger with thick shakes and great fries... all for reasonable prices! Came here with a group from work and it was not to busy. You look at the giant menu on the wall and walk up to the counter to order. There are not a ton of options but the burgers are all you need to order anyway... well that and a shake and fries. The burger was so flavorful! Truly a delicious meal that if I was closer I would be tempted to eat at more then once a week. The fries have some skin but are crispy and good (they have jalapeño catchup on the table and I suggest using it for EVERYTHING... accept maybe the shake. The shake is a thick cup of goodness... it might take a bit to get it going but it is worth it. The place got busier as lunch time rolled in and I can see why. The burger was awesome! The eatery is a little "hole in the wallish" but again the food is full of flavor and the location is really just filled with character. Well worth a visit! Ah the shroom burger! So per good as always. Now I hadn't been to JAX in a few years and I was so disappointed that they changed their garlic fries. This was my favorite thing about Jax. But no more minced garlic. Just a nasty sauce. So sad about this. We used to drive far to get these fries. The other issue was the eating room temperature. The sun was hot and the room seemed to have no AC whatsoever on. We had to eat at the tall bar tables near the soda machine because that room was too uncomfortably hot. read more

Uhh.. I like my burgers well done...I had no clue it would be medium rare..............I never eat burgers that way and I'm not used to that.. So, quite frankly I'm displeased............... The fries were tasty.. a bit salty, though. Other than that, I think the burger would've been bangin'! If I choose to go to this location again, I'll make sure I request a 'well done' burger. This was an odd experience for me, considering the fact that I've never been served a pink burger...Usually, restaurants cook them well done, unless otherwise requested. This is the best burger joint in Houston to me. Things I love: They cook your burger when you order. It comes out so hot it is hard to hold. They turn it upside down in the basket to keep the thin bun on bottom from getting soggy. They have delicious fries and onion rings, and they too are served hot. There is a great selection of soft drinks but it is hard not to order the milk shake or malt, because they are divine!! Very impressive food. The people are nice too. The bun was a little burnt. And I couldn't taste any of the mixed in jalapeños. Also I kinda wish they had whole lettuce rather than chopped just because it kept falling out of the burger. But other than these issues the burger was pretty tasty. Definitely not a McDonald's burger like one person posted. But also not the best burger ever as many other posters swear by. Definitely glad I went. But don't know if I'd be willing to spend another $20 on one of their Burgers either. They're closed on Sundays according to Google maps which is old school nice to see.

Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.
