We decided to stop by on a weekday evening. The establishment was somewhat busy upon arrival and more people showed up shortly after. The space is reallllly small, much smaller than expected, It's not meant for large groups at all. Ordering was pretty easy and arrival of food was speedy. We chose to order two single patty burgers with spicy ranch fries. All items were freshly made with quality ingredients. They do not have fountain drinks which was a bummer. Canned drinks and tea are the drink options. Overall impression of the establishment is that it's too small, the seating flows into the ordering area which leaves you feeling crammed in a tight space. In addition, the restrooms are too close to the ordering counter in my opinion. Despite it, the burgers were pretty good.

Well this place has potential to be good but the seasoning is just not cutting it. If the burger was seasoned it would be ok. The bread is fresh and the fries are really good. It is truly a smash burger with the crispy edges it's just missing the salt other than that it's ok. It's a small little place mainly set up for to go orders but you can sit in there and eat. It's nice and very clean. Service is expected as is for a place like this. It is worth a try. Work on the seasoning.

So.... Had bun slut a couple of days ago for lunch and it was really good. Fries were fresh burger was great but today... ate almost half of my burger and found a black and grey hair in my burger in between the cheese and bun. First thought "oh it could be mine or whatever cause I've got long hair" but my hair is pink... so definitely not mine. I was so disgusted.Don't think I'll be coming back to this location

Whether it is brunch, lunch, or dinner--Bosscat excels in their innovation towards cuisine & drinks alike! Their brussel sprouts and buffalo dip are two classics that I highly recommend. DJ was spinning tunes inside but we opted for outdoor seating on their covered patio as it was a nice day. I gotta say I had some trepidation given our CM's earlier experiences here. But everything turned out just fine on our visit. First off I love that everything on the menu is under $20. That means we can order more. I was a bit worried that out steak and eggs would be tough because I ordered it medium rare and it came out more medium well. It's even cut already so they should've been able to tell how well done it was. But it was still tender which is actually all I really cared about. The Holy Smoked Benedict is not your traditional eggs Benedict. Instead of ham they have slices of pork belly. And it's served on a crispy biscuit (I could taste the crunch) with potatoes with a poached egg on top just like a regular Benedict. My only comment would be a little too many potatoes for my particular liking, but you can just brush them off. With the money we saved we got the beignets. They come in a sack of 5 and with a Meyer lemon curd on top side for dipping that has a dollop of melted marshmallow cream on top. They aren't traditional beignets but are really small biscuits. They tasted hot and fresh, and were nice and fluffy regardless, which again is all I really cared about. Cold water comes in an old whisky bottle and is left at your table so you can pour as much as you want when you want. I really wish more restaurants did this. The place is also now on the InKind app so make sure you sign in and pay with the app if you do that kind of stuff. InKind is free and has occasional offers that make dining even more affordable.

I ordered the smaller portion of the BBQ chicken salad and I still felt like it was huge. I had to have my husband help finish it! The spinach dip is some of the best we've tried and that's saying a lot as this is usually our go to appetizer for most places. I'm not a tuna fan, so I didn't try my husband's meal, but he was happy with it. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area to just come and chill at the bar. It's very spacious and the restaurant has such a cool vibe. I've never had anything to eat here that I didn't like. Their drink selection is vast, especially if you're into beer. They have Angry Orchard on draft (my favorite) and that's hard to find in a restaurant. This is a great place to grab a drink before going out for the night, but it's also a great place to be your sole destination!

Now their brochure tout big portion sizes is their hallmark and their credo #4 says you should be saying "wow" when you get your food. So I got the biggest plate I could find to test that theory. And what bigger plate than the "Bigfoot" chicken fried steak. They were right I did say wow. Just not the amazing wow but more like the disappointment wow. I mean, the size was meh. Definitely seen bigger in many (most) other places. If you tout a name like Bigfoot you gotta make sure it's huge i would've thunk. The menu says "smothered" in gravy. The gravy didn't even reach the edges of the steak. More like a dab. The credit #4 says they buy huge platters for a reason. Well, even the platter looks more like a regular size "plate" that my knife could almost fit across. Definitely nothing impressive. And the sides ... meh. The mashed potatoes is just like one scoop. Again I've seen much bigger elsewhere. And the bad part was it wasn't even hot. The onion rings tasted pretty good though and were hot. The soup that is supposed to come with the dish never came. It was tomato soup. So I eventually asked the waiter and he brought it out after our meal was done. I thought he'd also bring out with the soup the cornbread muffin that the menu says is supposed to come with this dish. So I asked the waiter and he said customers usually tell him if they want the muffin, otherwise he doesn't bring it. So I guess it was my bad. Honestly I just hate it when they make it seem like you're the one to blame. When he brought one out it came in what looked like a plastic takeaway container minus the lid. Definitely Not winning any presentation points. Credo #3: "we cook everything to order, so it's going to take a little longer than the average bear (pun intended). I don't think the long wait was due to cooking these to order. They display some of their home made pies and cobblers. They looked interesting. So we tried a chocolate cream pie which has like Oreo crust. It was pretty good. But tbh I think house of pies does it better. And we had that just last week. Credo #5 didn't apply to us: "Nothing is worse than going away hungry from a restaurant. It won't happen at The Bear". Whelp, it did. Overall I thought it's an ok place. But we probably wouldn't go back. Their history is interesting based on what I was reading. Maybe they expanded too quick and should've kept it more local for quality control. I'd like to go back in time and visit the original Black Bear Diner in California where the owners were, just to see if it's really got that Cheers type vibe that I read about in their brochures while we waited for our food and if they really stand by their credos. And to the owner, please follow Credo #6: "we make this promise to you, our valued guest: We will read every single comment. We truly appreciate our guests taking the time to write to us. It helps us to determine if we are meeting your needs ...". If you really adhere to this, please don't send a canned response which I've seen used again and again asking to email you details and location. The details are all right here in the review. Both Words and photos. And the diner location is listed on the business page of Yelp. It'd be better just to not respond than to send a canned response that means nothing. It makes you look like you're trying to appear responsive but really aren't.
