Oh yea...finally made it to meat rub Mecca. Picked up a few T-Shirts and a few rubs to fly back home with me to Cali. Staff was super helpful and friendly and they were grilling bbq pizzas and handing out slices. FYI: TSA had to open the rub jars and swab them for explosives. I thought it was just liquids for the 3-1-1 rule, but the agent said any spice over 100g has to be checked too...it added about 20 extra minutes to my check in at DFW Airport. read more

I wanted to buy some items that were not available online and I was told they were not able to ship them home for me. Do not know each other personally but ran into each other very late at night a few years back at the local HEB Anyway, if you are into BBQ and Smokin Meat then this is the place to set your sites on. We started watching Meat Church on YouTube and we were hooked. Great recipes and Matt is awesome to watch. Recipes are easy to follow. We wish we lived closer so we could go to the actual store. For now we order online for us and gifts. Love the Ocho gift pack, it's 8 spices and rubs and they have been on sale for $65. Great deal and they are delicious. We all have Meat Church shirts, stickers too. Great customer service but all done through email. No customer service phone number. They are quick to respond. When it comes to dry rubs I have been looking for the one that keeps me coming back. Well I have found it. I was at Lowe's and came across these dry rubs and decided to give it a try. If your looking for a great bbq dry rub look no further Meat Church is by far the best I've had. There's a holy Vodoo dry rub that's got a lil kick to it. It's great on wings. Then the honey hog dry rub is excellent on ribs and all pork especially on pork butts. The other dry rubs are all purpose rubs that are great on anything. Had tickets for Meat Church BBQ Cooking Class hosted by Matt Pittman last night. 137 of us bought tickets online for this BBQ Cooking Class that sold out in less than 1 minute. People flew in from Oregon, California, Colorado and Massachusetts for this class. Just goes to show the impact Meat Church and Matt Pittman have on the bbq world. Highly recommend! The class was located at TX Whiskey in Fort Worth where TX Whiskey is Distilled on these beautiful grounds and sold in rustic buildings After checking in we were greated with Cocktails. As the class progressed the employees served us Walking Frito Texas Chili Pie, a 2nd Cocktail with Nashville Hot Smoked Fried Turkey Sandwiches. Concluding the 3hr class with a Smoked Brisket Pastrami Reuban slider and potato salad. We had time to shop in the TX Store and meet Matt Pittman from Meat Church for pictures before enjoying the last Cocktail of your choice in the TX Tavern. I have used Matt's videos every time I want to smoke something on me Treager pellet grill. Never had one thing come out that wasn't absolutely delicious. My friends and family always compliment me on how good my brisket, baby back ribs, beef tenderloin, whole chicken or spatchcocked or anything else I make tastes. I finally got to see where it all started. Not a huge place and no fancy silly stuff "you just have to go there to see" but a check mark on my bucket list for sure. I was up in Grapevine for an RV club event. I saw a sign on the road that said "Waxahachie" so I decided to take some time and go to the Meat Church BBQ supply. After a leisurely 50 mile drive through the Metroplex, we arrived at Waxahachie at the Meat Church. It was a lot bigger than I thought. They had just gotten in some shipments of Goldee's seasonings, which is what I wanted but ended up forgetting. They not only have Meat Church stuff (i got some brine, chicken breading seasoning, and chili seasoning) but some Malcolm Reed including the AP (the bomb) and a whole bunch of Heath Riles stuff. Jim, the expert helped us. Jim made suggestions based on his cooking experience. It was solid. All in all, FUN. I also got the bacon butter (do this), the rib candy (peach habanero) and the W Worcestershire sauces. No meat church seasonings because i have them all. In fact if I didn't have everything for serious barbecue, Id have tun up quite a bill in there. Still, I could have easily gotten more. Saw a Meat Church video where Matt makes barbacoa tacos. Make Jim throw that one on if you want to go away starving. read more

I've been using Meat Church rubs for the last several years. I think they make some high quality good stuff, and I've never been disappointed with the ones I've used. I can usually find the ones I need at Beef Slabs in Mansfield (obvious shill) but since they opened their own brick and mortar store I've always wanted to visit the mother ship. It's a short drive down to Waxahachie. Street parking is pretty edgy, but there is a free public garage about a block away on the corner of Jefferson and Jackson, basically the street behind the store. I advise you to park there and walk. It's a lot easier than getting into and out of parking on the street. The store is nice, and you can get EVERY rub or brine or meat add on they sell here. I use the Honey Hog the most, and the season salt they sell is my favorite, I put it in a lot of stews and soups, other things I cook, and I use it on french fries and other take out stuff I bring home. It's great stuff. I picked up some of their new Voodoo cajun rub. If you're into spending a lot of money, I see they're selling Traeger pellet grills now. They also have some pretty neat logo merchandise. I geeked and got a long sleeve t-shirt. They had some cookbooks around, and one I was looking for but to lazy to order online. I bought it also. They have a good selection of smoking accessories and tools. It's interesting just to check everything out. Anyway, glad I went, might drop back in one of these days. They have an email list worth signing up for. They do a lot of interesting smoke video's and some good recipes that are really worth using. read more

There was nothing to see and buy that you can not get in retail stores. He would have liked to see different products and something more. I don't recall how I found their rubs because I have never seen them here in CT. Since I got my Traeger pellet smoker/grill a few years ago it is pretty much all I use when cooking on the grill. I mainly use The Gospel, Holy Cow and Honey Hog. My son would put Gospel on everything he even put it on mashed potatoes. I am going down to Dallas area soon and am planning on stopping in to the store to take a look at some of their other items. I order online and always get everything in a couple days. Been a fan of Matt Pittman and the Holy Congregation for a while. California isn't big on BBQ. Planned a trip out to Dallas with the wife and me and decided to go see in person it's about a 45 minute drive. Beautiful small town I loved it!! Ashley greeted right away. I was in heaven the minute I walked in. 385 bucks later I got a beautiful meat church cutting board some shirts rubs and more rubs. Truly wonderful experience only thing that sucked I wanted the big Meat Church Texas state flag cutting board and they were sold out but I will fly back just for it! Matt Pittman your the man! I bought a cooking class off their website for a Saturday... well it turns out it was a mess up on date on their end and I actually bought a wine and bbq festivals in Dallas! When we reached out they immediately changed the website and refused to refund us the money!!!! We own a small business too and there is no way we would treat a customer like this.
