(my first mistake) Of course, those meetings to discuss my priorities and reduce the budget, never came. My dream wasn't realized as they either vetoed, forgot or bumbled each feature of my design. Examples: I have a wavy wall, it took them days to correct the paint throughout the house, they flat refused to match my craftsman trim, they forgot my vented kitchen hood, vetoed my transom (they don't even know what that is), failed plumbing inspection three times and nearly blew up my house. (I'm not embellishing) Had to install the cabinets twice (ordered incorrectly and hung at the wrong height), the rough plumbing is so poorly done that the knobs don't sit right and turn lop-sided; failed to contain the renovation dust which covered even stuff inside cabinets and drawers throughout the house. The cleaning crew came multiple times and I still had to hire my own at a cost of $360, to get all the ceiling fans, fixtures, floors, etc. finally clear of dust and paint splatters. They scratched my hardwoods and damaged my stove. To top it off, they stopped paying the subs and one of them put a lien on my house, EVEN though, i was up to date on my payment arrangement. (Yes, that's totally legal, for some reason!) The drama continues as I need help correcting some issues that i don't feel I should have to live with. I ran a background check on her and it turns out she's no stranger to the Tarrant County Jail. She has had multiple (recent) arrests, and criminal charges for Assault Bodily Injury, DUI, and Drug possession. This is clearly not a person you can trust in your house. I have never received worse service from a cleaning company then I did with Jonas. We recently redid our floors and had that white dust everywhere. I explained that to Jonas and I was promised a "deep clean" that would include 2 cleaners and a separate crew to come out and clean the 2 rugs separately. Not at all what we received. One of the cleaners showed up an hour late and left an hour early. Big issue there. He was the "helper" and also the one who "cleaned" the carpets. Only half of my kitchen was cleaned. How do I know this? Because of the white dust all over the counter and the dishes sitting on top of them. They cleaned half of the beams in the living room, yet managed to clean the fan that was above the beams. They missed several piles of sawdust around the house. They missed black finger prints on white door frames and when asked about it, the cleaning lady said they were stains. As I looked her in the eye, I used my spit and finger to rub the black finger prints off the door frames. Point made, she went back to work which was nice of her I guess. Very little in the gym was cleaned. Not even wiped down. We still have white dust all over because the cleaning lady said it was "hard to get to." Yet, we are talking black benches that are knee level. She took a phone call while we were doing our walk through and openly complained about how long it was taking at our house. As she was asking for payment, I was sweeping up a pile of sawdust, in front of her, and she had the guts to ask me for a tip. Lest we forget, the so-called 'professional carpet cleaning' that was happening outside in my garage, where the male cleaner pulled the rugs. He used a machine, similar to the one you can rent yourself, and did a quick once-over. Completely ineffective. Worse-yet, he melted our circuit board in the garage when he plugged in the machine. My fault for having bad wiring in this old house, but I expected something a bit more professional-grade. All of this is bad, and I can accept when unrealistic expectations are set or someone received sub-par service, but when we called Jonas to explain all of this, he repeatedly said he would check into this but there was no worry, disappointment, or shock. He just kept saying this is the standard service. Yikes! We signed up for a "deep clean" and got a very poor result. I have since called several other cleaning companies and asked if this is a standard deep clean and they all laughed. And said if that's how they did business, they wouldn't have a business.

We asked friends, looked over ads and turned towards Yelp. It was decided that we would settle for no less than a five star rating wanting to avoid the pitfalls so often heard about shady contractors. The ALC Remodel team arrived (Gabriel and Luan) dressed nicely in company shirts and a nice honest proposal of which we finally accepted. Prior to start, Gabriel de Franca, gave us a list of supplies that we could purchase (at the local box store) using my military discount. It saved us allot on our big items like our bidet, sinks and shower head units. Day one began, as each day, with the crew covering our bedroom furniture and rug with plastic. The destruction phase is the worst, but ALC did all they could to limit the dust including a plastic door that effectively sealed off the work area. We watched carefully as the ALC folks (Joseph and Jonas) came each day, always on our requested time and finished after a full day's work in time for us to have a nice dinner and evening. Payments were divided into four segments, each paid at completion of a phase. We paid nothing up front. ALC's work was completed within the agreed time line below original estimate. The final product is stunning! STUNNING! What makes the look so special is the workmanship. Maybe the right word is artist for each tile, every marble panel, even the final touches to paint and presentation was just perfect. Final thoughts; we were so impressed by ALC Remodel. More than just a team, the company is family and the work absolutely shows through. If we could give Six Stars we would gladly give them ALL SIX!

See the photos, the top 3 line tiles are white, all the rest tiles are yellow! I went to the store where I purchased the tiles, and the manager said he could not do anything. I lost $1500 labor to redo the entire left-side wall, including removing the installed tiles, replacing the hardy barker board & red guard, and installing the tiles again. I also lost 8 pieces of the tiles (materials), $90.76 total. I would like Floor & Decor to contact me back for this loss, since it is completely their fault for giving me different color tiles!
