This place is famous (chicken wings & chicharrones ) and oddly never super busy maybe I just come at the right time. The food to me is always good. Duck fat their secret trick for delish zucchini and regular fries. My favorite is the chorizo burger and my hubby does tumor has a brisket. There's a cheesecake and hubby got brisket cheesesteak. I just think if you're going to cheat and have an unhealthy meal it should be worth it and this place is. Plus they have good beer. I love the music they play and the rustic old style diner vibes. I went in and didn't know which burger I was going to pick - I ended up ordering the "Inside Out juicy Lucy"- 6 oz pimento cheese and bacon stuffed angus burger with american cheese,, lettuce and tomato! and had no idea what to expect! Delicious. We hit up this burger bar on a mission to try something new. We checked out Diners, Drive Thrus and Dives first and started off the night with a cold one and some house made chicken wings. We then had the Inside Out Juicy Lucy served with fries and house made ketchup, beer battered mustard and Mayo. Great time! Came in around 1:30pm on Monday, July 3rd. Good crowd for a late lunch, but still ample seating. We chose to sit up at the bar. Very friendly and quick service. We ordered a couple beers, their insanely good (and famous) wings and split the juicy lucy burger. We ended with trying one of the adult milkshakes and wow, that was unreal. We were in the mood for a good burger for lunch. So of course I searched my Yelp bookmarks. We came here -- having no idea that they'd been featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. The place is in a non assuming strip center on the west side of federal highway. There's parking right out front. Inside, it's casual with a bar/counter and tables along the opposite wall. You order and pay at the counter. They do bring your food to you at your table. The four stars are solely for the burgers. We both got singles -- mine plain (no cheese) with a lettuce wrap and coleslaw on the side. His with tomato and upgraded to blue cheese (it comes with American) and French fries. They bring two different "sauces" -- a mango ketchup and a special caraway mustard. Neither appealed to me. The fries were just okay and so was the coleslaw. But the meat in the burger was seasoned perfectly and delicious!!! And I didn't add anything. It may seem a bit expensive -- a single is just under $10 including one side; However, we have paid a lot more for yucky burgers over the years. There are a number of different burgers. A lot of cheese choices and special sauce choices as well. If you don't eat beef, they have pulled pork, chicken, salads and even an "impossible" burger. Wings, too. Stopped in yesterday and were immediately welcomed by Christina who not only answered any questions we had as first timers, but also provided us with excellent service throughout our visit. We ordered the Inside out Juicy Lucy and the Cowboy Burger, both Burgers were delicious and of high quality ingredients and very flavorful! Towards the end of our meal Chef George came out to see how things were and Thanked us for stopping by. His passion for cooking shows in every bite, via his creations. Stopped in here for a bite while in Boca Raton on business for a few days, and OMG; it has changed my life. No, seriously. I ordered the "Nancy Pants," their take on the classic American cheeseburger. Not only was it seasoned to perfection, but this 1/3 of a pound burger was cooked to perfection, and resulted in multiple mouthgasms. That's right, I said it, and I am not ashamed. Used to be a great spot to grab a burger. Juicy Lucy was my favorite. Sad to see this restaurant go so terribly downhill. Couple of weeks ago, we stopped by and were repeatedly told that the restaurant was out of various items. From wings, to soup, to balsamic dressing, to olive oil (for salad)... the reason we were given was that "they had a busy month". We decided to give it another chance and return and this time just ordered burgers. Unfortunately even the signature item of this burger joint had gone terribly downhill. My favorite was always the Juicy Lucy which is supposed to be stuffed with pimento cheese. This version of the burger was incredibly dry and with no pimento cheese in it, and just a small slice of cheese on top of it. To make matters worse when I asked the chef (who was walking by) if they changed the recipe as my burger had no pimento cheese inside he looked at me puzzled and said "maybe they just didn't put as much cheese in it?" If that's the attitude of the chef, can only imagine how the rest of the staff feels... Drinks are now served in tiny styrofoam cups, the restaurant is empty, no atmosphere to speak of, empty fridges staring customers in the face, just not a place you want to be... I understand the restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m. but the kitchen should not be closed at 8:40 p.m. twice. This is definitely a delicious burger, but I question it as being the best. For aside, I had the fries in duck fat, and to be honest with you, for the price of the fries and the burger, I would've preferred to see fresh french fries instead of frozen. In any case, I wasn't happy with the french fries, for a drink they served me a birch beer which was very, very good. I recommend giving this place a try because she won't go wrong; I'm currently in the middle of a burger crawl throughout the Tri-County/south Florida market. We stopped in recently on our trip to drop her daughter off at FAU. We were looking for a good restaurant at reasonable prices, and found this place on yelp. Our first impression when we walked in was the smell of the place was amazing. We were greeted and welcomed by the hostess, who was fantastic. We ordered our food and it was delivered quickly and exactly as ordered. And tasted fantastic! While we were sitting there, the owner and head chef introduced himself, and we had a great conversation. We will definitely be adding this to our rotation of places to go when we visit Boca again. First off I must mention that the service fast and friendly, and that the young lady working the counter and delivering food and beverages was terrific! Tried a couple of new things today for lunch. My wife had the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich, which she liked and said that she would order again. I tried one of the specials, Brisket Cheesesteak. I would not order it again in its current state. Let me start with it is a tasty concept; it had a nice smokey flavor and good quality brisket. My issue was with the technique...the brisket was sliced in decently thin slices, but it was not easy or enjoyable to eat. Every other bite resulted in slices being pulled out of the sandwich, resulting in more meat than you intended to bite off, requiring using your finger to handle hot meat and cheese. Not that the M.E.A.T. professional cooks want or need my input, but if the brisket were chopped it would create a better mouthfeel and more enjoyable eating experience. I cringe at piling on and I apologize, but I was not feeling the Duck Fat Fries...they seemed like they were just frozen seasoned fries. Once upon a time I was a regular at the Islamorada location; and for good reason, great burgers, decor and atmosphere plus great staff. But this ain't the Florida Keys.... This is Boca Raton and in 4 years, I've been here just 3 times. Regardless of how good the food is, the location just sucks. Lobby of a bank building... that alone makes it (1) hard to find and (2) an odd place to eat (there are tables and bar stools in the open lobby). If MEAT Eatery were in a plaza (as they are located in the Keys) or in a stand-alone building I'd probably visit somewhat often but I find it uncomfortable. The decor (inside the place) tries to capture the same as the Keys location but have an open plan into the bank lobby reflects on the atmosphere. Despite the not-so-great location the food does manage to be rather good. I know the local competition, Tucker Duke's, is more popular but I happen to think the burgers here are better. The Inside-Out Juicy Lucy Burger... it's the burger to get; pieces of applewood bacon and pimento cheese INSIDE of the burger patty (hence the inside-out). I have not had it at the Boca location but if it's anything like the Islamorada location, then the Chicken Sandwich is worth checking out. We had been in the process of planning an event and wanted to have MEAT cater the food. It was cooked perfectly, juicy and extremely satisfying. It was on the smallish side for me but I am also a tall and lanky bottomless pit when it comes to food. The toppings were a little lacking but quite frankly that wasn't what the purpose was anyway. The waitress enthusiastically greeted me at the door and helped guide me through. She also worked the bar and had several other patrons happily staying drink after drink. Best suited I'd say for a night out watching the football game. I've had this bookmarked for a while but had not had the reason to go yet. Until the other day... Had to kill some time before meeting a friend. Since I knew it would be late before I would be able to grab dinner, decided to make it an early one. Searched the area on the Yelp app and found my bookmark. Got to the location my GPS took me to. At first it's a little confusing, since the restaurant is inside a business building. They do have a sign outside, but until you park you won't see it. On top of that, you have to walk to the end of the lobby area to find M.E.A.T. The other confusing thing is that you are looking for a restaurant but this looks more like a bar. Small inside, with about 4 - 5 stool seats at the bar, and behind that there's another open area (bar like as well) were you sit in stools as well. While I was there 3 people came in asking where the restaurant was not realizing they were actually in it. They have some happy hour items on the menu, like $3 sliders, and some wines and beers. I opted for a wine, and after looking at the menu went with the Inside-Out Juicy Lucy. This is a burger stuffed with Pimento cheese and Applewood bacon, topped with American cheese, lettuce and tomato. I asked for it without tomato and without the bun, with coleslaw on the side, instead of fries. There was only one girl at the counter, serving everyone, including phone, people ordering to go, and the people dining in. The kitchen seemed to be a bit understaffed too since my burger took a very long time to come out. The girl apologized twice for the delay, and checked on the order. The burger is advertised as Best Burger by various sources. Was it good? Yes! It was delicious, very satisfying, and really liked that they added extra lettuce to make it like a salad, and not leave me hungry or like I was lacking something for leaving the bun out. But "award winning", not sure. Maybe the lack of staff or the years that have passed since they won it affected the taste but again I was very happy with it, and even more with their homemade Dijon mustard that was and excellent dressing for my lettuce (salad). After an hour and a half, at a place I thought would be a lot quicker, I was done, ready to pay and go on with my day. The cons I noticed, the wait, the sometimes tired attitude of the girl working the counter (she looked like she didn't want to be there), the fact that leftover food was left on the counter for a while (again, short staffed), and the weird setup. Pros: good burger, good happy hour prices and daily deals, nice wine and beer selection, and you don't have to wait to be seated.
