    Brisket nachos

This was one of the best brunches I've had. The crab cake Benedict I had tasted super fresh while the brisket nachos were savory and saucy with every bite! If you ever get served here and the food takes awhile that's actually a good thing because they make everything fresh in that kitchen! Even their biscuits! And this place had such a family farm vibe that I love! Servers were super nice and accommodating, like how an aunt or distant relative acts when they're super happy and excited to see you!

Food was great and service was excellent. Such a nice vibe and we would definitely go back. Wish the biscuits were a little less dense but they were still good.

Food: Everything was delicious and good portioned. Ham was one piece not cut individually on top of the biscuit which was a little annoying. Otherwise, the food was good. A little pricey. Service: Waited close to 40 minutes. But everybody was nice. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of crowds. Packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Has an old country feel to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Clean. Would definitely love to come back for dinner.

Lovely brunch at Hen and The Hog. The brunch menu has changed quite a bit. I was a little disappointed the smoked salmon Benedict was taken off the menu but did try the crab cake Benedict which was absolutely delicious but do hope the salmon makes a come back! Service was amazing as usual Elizabeth and Dana are always in point!

The Hen and the Hog always have decent food. My fiancée and I had such a great experience at the Hollywood location that when I drove by this place while I was in Boca, I had to stop by and have my shrimp and grits. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The place is small but they also offer outdoor seating. Little tricky to find parking space and the entrance but compared to how everything else is, this little inconvenience is worth your troubles. If are looking for a decent breakfast and lunch place look no further. Give The Hen and the Hog a try and you won't be disappointed. They have freshly squeezed lemonade and orange juice but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe next time. The meal didn't take long at all and it was served hot and placed carefully. PS They have clean bathrooms, and this says a lot about the restaurant in my opinion.

So consistent, another great breakfast here. I went with the traditional breakfast, eggs, bacon and the amazing biscuit. Nancy what a great server m, very nice, attentive and natural. Keep it up guys.

A hidden gem! We order from here every Saturday morning. The quality is consistent, and on the few times it wasn't to our expectations, the manger has always gone above to make it right. Heads up that the wait times on the weekends are usually over 45mins.

Went for lunch for the first time. Nachos were very good I really like the sweet brisket on them. Brisket melt was my favorite. The meat was delicious and the bread good too. It was big. The pulled pork platter was good and also a good amount of food. Sweet potato medallions were nice and soft and the breakfast potatoes are delicious, so much flavor. Only bad thing was the staff. For at least thirty minutes they were screaming out to each other to complain inside the restaurant about how much tip the outside tables were leaving them. Very odd and off putting ... save that for after hours.

The Hen and the Hog is a casual BBQ joint on the side of Federal Highway in Boca. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is ample parking behind the restaurant and plenty of outside seating under the canopy and large umbrellas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a warm day so we opted to eat inside which was quite cold.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are only 7 small tables and a few bar seats but we were seated quickly and enjoyed the kitchy decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lovely server named Shanice gave us our beverages before taking our food order. The menu has a huge variety of brunch options as well as a few salads and entrees. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Omelet and it was so good. There was plenty of fresh smoked meat inside it and the portion size was very good. It came with a side but I asked for tomatoes slices instead of chopped potato hashbrowns. My husband ordered the hand held Baja Breakfast Wrap which was basically a loaded burrito. It was not very big in size and had alot of potatoes in it but he did like the flavor combination. It didnt come with a side because the potatoes were stuffed inside. We asked for some of their housemate BBQ sauce and it was good but quite sweet and not thick at all. I would have preferred something less sweet and a little smokey and spicy. The only issue we had was that the kitchen was VERY slow and our server apologized more than one time. This is not a big restaurant so it fills up quickly but the service is excellent and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again.

This restaurant reminded me of a mom & pops diner. The service was amazing ! We sat inside and were greeted promptly by 3 staff members. Dana was our server and she was very pleasant, polite, funny, she had great recommendations, she made our 1st so enjoyable. There wasn't many vegetarian options however they are willing to work with the menu and your diet.. I ordered the nova Benedict, but I hate poached eggs, so they were able to give me two fried hard eggs in replacement. We also ordered the cinnamon toast, crunch waffles with a side of eggs and bacon for my guest. We also had their lychee mimosa, which was very good as well as the Henny Rita, which was good, but could've been a little stronger. The food was very flavorful and plenty. The portions are very good. The restaurant itself gives off a real homie vibe. It is so welcoming. We cannot wait to come back.

Truly scratch cooking...my veggie omelette tasted just feet away from the field where the veggies were grown Sitting at the bar just minutes after their 7:00am opening, service was cheerful and highly efficient - even though the staff were clearly setting up for the day A very hip yet rustic feel to the whole place, playing on old farm equipment so much better than the folks at the Cracker Barrel chain do I will be back for dinner - the BBQ is probably amazing when they stay open later at the weekend You will not be disappointed

Great place for a hearty brunch with friends! The inside is a little smaller so it seats a smaller party and also has bar counter seats. Outside can hold larger parties. It's summer so it's a little bit on the hotter side but the food is so worth it. The people who work here are also super nice and check on you often. We got the orange mimosa and loaded grits to start. Can't go wrong with a brunch mimosa. The loaded grits were perfect. I was scared that the bacon and sausage would make the grits super salty but honestly it was a really good balance. Next we had the crème brûlée pancakes, let me tell you, I ate a 1/3 of it without the syrup before my boyfriend even came back to the table. It's somehow crispy and also fluffy at the same time. The other dish we got was the smoked brisket skillet which is so filling that we had to take it home. The barbecue sauce went really well with the dish. Definitely coming back here for brunch so I can explore more of the menu and of course get the pancake again!!

Great brunch options here. They have additional menu items that the Pompano Beach location doesn't offer. The menu is a little pricier given that this is located in Boca but it is well worth it.

Ask the Community - The Hen and The Hog

Is the Pampano Beach location open tomorrow, Christmas morning?

Yes we are open Christmas day and new years day.

    Do you all deliver?

No, however you can order through uber or door dash.

Boca location closed? We drove here Saturday morning and it's boarded up?

Funny, it was full to the brim when we left. I see YELP listed my answer to Boca not Pompano, there is the problem.

The staff were very friendly to us as we walked in and immediately offered us some water and we were only getting drinks that day so we ordered a matcha latte with the whipped coffee on top as well requested almond milk. We saw them hand, whipped both the coffee and also whisk up the Matcha, which was a pleasant surprise. We didn't need additional sweetener but it was overall a really good matcha! We sat there for about 45 minutes enjoying our drinks and never felt rush. It was definitely busy inside but nothing terrible or cramped inside. We snagged a table outside on the patio area which was a good mix of sunlight and shade since they had umbrellas up. We ordered coffees - I got the London fog chai. And then ordered food. I got the original avocado toast. The drink was very good. I was able to do a milk alternative so I chose coconut milk. The avocado toast was loaded. Lots of micro greens and a poached egg that was cooked very well. The avocado was not as heavy as you would think for an avocado toast though. I was catching up with some old friends so it was nice to be able to sit and chat and not feel rushed.

Staff was nice. - The decor is a "casual surfer beach house" theme, and they also have lots of signage near the small bar in support of the Buffalo Bills (all opposing teams be warned, I can only imagine the place during regular NFL season!) - The menu had quite a bit to choose from, including a bottomless booze option for $20 (nice!) - The staff is on the younger side so I was expecting far less than the kind service we received... definitely a bonus! - The food was good... we had the Burger and the Shrimp Quesadilla - Price was pretty reasonable for the portions & quality CONS: - My order got messed up a touch... not the end of the world but caused me to purchase something I didn't want - No Gluten-Free breads available (although they do have corn tortillas!) All in all a solid 4 stars, really only because there was nothing about the brunch that made me consider going above that rating. It really was all... good!

From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff behind the counter, which immediately set the tone for a great experience. The ambiance is exactly what you'd hope for in a French cafe: bright, lively, and effortlessly charming. The space has that perfect balance of cozy and bustling, with the aroma of fresh-baked pastries filling the air and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. I asked for a recommendation since everything (from the croissants and tarts to the éclairs and quiches) looked meticulously crafted and almost too pretty to eat. You can immediately tell there's a strong attention to detail in every item they make. I ultimately went with the almond croissant, and I can confidently say it's one of the best I've had. The exterior was perfectly flaky with just the right dusting of powdered sugar, giving it a delicate sweetness without being overwhelming. Inside, it was soft, airy, and beautifully layered. What really set it apart, though, was the almond filling. Unlike most almond croissants, where the filling is sparse or concentrated in one spot, this one delivered from the very first bite. The filling was rich, flavorful, and generously distributed throughout, making every bite consistently satisfying. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back and work your way through the entire pastry case. Looking forward to trying more on my next visit.

She apologized when coming back but it was a little odd, we waited about five mins or so. I told her I was considering the tiramisu latte or the pistachio latte and I was hoping she could help steer me in a direction. I asked what she thought between the two and she clearly found my question odd bc there was a long pause before she said it depends what I'm in the mood for. Which isn't very helpful at all lol. And she said it with a bit of sass, like what a dumb question to ask. I don't think my question was that outlandish, many places have specific favorites or recommendations. After discovering the tiramisu latte relies on the cream top that can only be made using cream and no non-dairy products, I decided against that one. Without the cream top, it's just a vanilla latte she told us. Typically the pistachio latte is made with syrup and a pistachio butter but she said even the pistachio butter is made with condensed milk. We wanted to confirm paying for a pistachio latte would be the same as paying for a latte with syrup added and she said it would, but again she seemed kinda annoyed or impatient by our questions. Not friendly service at all. It came out to $8 for an iced latte ($1 for non-dairy milk) in an albeit cute container but it was just subpar.
