We came here to celebrate my birthday. dinner on a rainy Wednesday evening, and it turned out to be the perfect romantic atmosphere. The restaurant was quiet, the rain outside made it feel extra cozy, and the food was excellent with generous amounts . Our server was amazing, she was handling around six tables while also acting as the hostess, yet she stayed friendly, attentive, and never made us feel rushed. Huge kudos to her! We had a lovely dining experience at our visit to Lazy Dog in Boca. Two people in our party were first time guests.. Surprisingly the manager came over to greet them and offered them $10 off their next visit. The manager also gave them his business card in case there were any questions. That's the first time I've ever experienced that at the restaurant and it was just a really nice touch. We had the lunch specials which had ample portions of delicious food. Food was delish! Tried the Brussels sprouts for the first time as the appetizer and it was light, tangy, and perfect! Great for just 2 people. Cobb salad was 15/10. Very good portion too. The bowl looks bigger than it actually is- it's not that deep just a wide bowl. The ahi tuna bowl was soooo good. Not too spicy just brought the perfect kick and heat. First time trying Lazy Dog and we really enjoyed it. The food was good, the atmosphere was great, and everyone was welcoming. James, the manager, stopped by our table and brought us complimentary chips to welcome us since it was our first visit, which was a really thoughtful touch. Right when we walked in we were greeted with a warm and Friendly smile. Quick update on Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar. I just got off the phone with the GM, James. Good conversation, and he's a genuinely solid guy. We walked through the review, and one thing became clear pretty quickly. The feta wasn't a mistake. It's part of how they build the dish. It's actually tied into their queso blanco and shows up as part of the garnish. The issue is that it's not listed anywhere in the menu description, and I made sure to point that out. To his credit, he said he'd take that back to the team. As for the rest of it, what I reviewed is what they're serving. No changes planned right now. If they ever DO make any changes, I'll be happy to re-review. He did offer a gift card, which I appreciated, but Florida Nacho Man doesn't take comps. The review stands. read more

Food was 4.5/5 We had the Parmesan garlic chips, chicken, pot, pie, and fish taco. Everything is made fresh in house. They also make TV dinners which seem to be very adorably packaged, and we will have to try this in the future.. 5/5 We sat outside this evening in a well covered shaded area. There's a fire pit outside that really brings ambience to the space as it is the focal point. It felt like we were in a southern lodge somewhere in the Smoky Mountains. Very charming. I always wanted to visit lazy dog restaurant and I finally had the chance to do so recently! I love the design of the façade with the rock work. It's something that you see very rarely in the Fort Lauderdale area. The restaurant inside and outdoor seating wise is very spacious with a ton of different seating options as well as a huge bar. This place definitely gets busy later in the night so keep that in mind if you want to just walk in without a reservation. I didn't realize they brewed their own beer here and I ordered the ankle buster blonde. I'm not going to lie I didn't love that beer, but I did love the appetizer that I saw advertised on the table which was candied bacon for five dollars. It came with a generous amount of bacon, and I would highly recommend as an appetizer to start! It's rare that you see five dollar appetizers these days. Now for my meal, I ordered the lunch special, which came with a sandwich which I chose the Roasted Chicken Club with avocado and bacon, and fries. I also got the chopped salad as the other part of the lunch special. The salad came first, and I really liked it a lot and had a ton of flavor. I also really love the sandwich. The fries went very well with it as they have a nice coating. This restaurant definitely taste like a western type dish as there's a lot of bacon throughout the menu. My one complaint with this restaurant is, I didn't know what lazy dog exactly was. I feel like that's kind of a weird brand name and that might deter other people from visiting, but rest assured it's a great place to eat at. Lazy Dog in Boca is one of those places where the vibes are better than the bites. Went with friends, had a blast, but the food? Let's just say it peaked at "Burger Night." We kicked things off with the crispy rice tuna, which turned out to be mostly crispy rice with a cameo appearance by tuna. And the rice was not crispy. Honestly, if the tuna had a LinkedIn profile, this dish would've endorsed it for "invisibility." Then came the Kung Pao Chicken Bowl--aka a giant pile of rice with a side hustle of protein and veggies. What sauce? Who knows. It tasted like Kung Pao without the "Kung" or the "Pao." The veggies were so undercooked they probably still had gym memberships. The Sweet & Spicy Bowl? Same script, different title. Basically Kung Pao's twin that also failed to season its personality. But then--cue dramatic music--the burger arrived. For $15, you get a perfectly cooked, flavorful burger and dessert. That burger came in like the hero of a bad movie, saving the night at the last possible second. I ordered the Korean Steak Bowl, which was fine... individually. Together, it felt like a group project where nobody wanted to collaborate. And the egg? Overcooked into retirement. That yolk was gone, folks. My hub and I went for a late evening drink and it was such a pleasant experience. Love the ambiance and the appetizers. I wanted to try the bacon candy but they were out so we tried the chicken meatballs in curry and it was good. They also serve mocktails and a good old fashioned. I've never really loved Lazy Dog, but we came here for a birthday gathering and it worked well for a group. One thing I do genuinely enjoy is the fireplace -- it adds a cozy touch, especially when you're sitting and catching up. We initially went up to the bar hoping to get a happy hour drink, but were sent back to the table to order the happy hour specials instead, which was a little annoying. I ordered a vodka soda along with the lettuce wraps. It's a decent deal, but overall the food is good, not great -- just not really my favorite. That said, it's a solid choice for larger groups. We had over 14 women, and they had no problem accommodating us or doing separate checks, which is always appreciated. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times, so you may have to walk a bit -- not a big deal to me since it helps get my steps in. Overall, it's fine for a casual get-together or group celebration, but not a place I'd go out of my way for just the food. And it is not expensive which is even better. Messiness sums up this restaurant in a nutshell. When I got here, the menus were filthy--it was like touching a public toilet and not being cleaned. Absolutely sickening. The food was presented fine and was good. The strawberry lemonade was not good and left in the remnants of the strawberries apparently. Hardly tasted like lemonade. It was a disappointment LazyDog certainly isn't lazy when it comes to cleaning and letting dogs run the show--it's more like "pawsitively chaotic" The food and service were fine overall, but the dog-friendly policy turned the patio into a real "ruff" experience. I hadn't even been there 5 minutes when a mom rolled in with two young kids and two big dogs, parking right near me. The kids were bouncing off the walls (as expected), and the dogs were nosing around other customers tables, bugging everyone trying to eat in peace The mom casually dumped a cup of water and ice straight onto the ground for the dogs--creating a slippery puddle and ice cubes sliding toward nearby customers. Only after that did she bother asking for actual water bowls and food. To top it off, the kids started to contribute to the mess dropping their food on the ground for the dogs. It was a total hot mess--more like a dog park with tables than a restaurant patio. And then the birds started to get in on the action. The patio of restaurant basically turned into basically a zoo. April 24, 2026 @ 10:30pm. This is why I don't go out to a lot of Florida restaurants because of shitty workers. In the same breath, this is why I only go to places where I already know people. I walked into this bar, I usually get taken care of by 2 other bartenders that I like that are actually very good. I haven't seen them in a while so I've been getting questionable service to say the least. It's so interesting to see people that are terrible at their job still have jobs and that was my experience tonight. The bartenders were GOD AWFUL. No one said hi, offered me a menu, drinks NOTHING. For my entire visit, neither bartenders said anything to me. I waved down the manager who happened to be in the bar area and she, QUITE LITERALLY, saved the visit for me. She greeted me, took my food and drink order and even checked on me to see if everything was ok. I would have tipped her if I was able to because she was everything the other 2 bartenders weren't. Great at the job. People ask me why I only go to restaurants that I know the people at and this is why. I don't like being annoyed when I'm trying to relax and I don't tip shitty service. When I go out, I expect amazing service and to tip the bill every single time and if MELLISA TOMLINSON was bartending instead of managing this particular night, she would have all of my money. My visit this night was great only because of MELLISA, other than her, it was a terrible experience. AWFUL BARTENDERS this night. I have very mixed feelings. A Saturday night at 6:30 PM. Good news: Our party of four all got hamburgers of different kinds. All arrived as ordered and perfect. The bacon candy is a star. Bad news: Parking virtually impossible. A real hassle. We were seated promptly, but it then took 25 min for server to arrive just to take our drink order. It consisted of scrambled eggs, cheddar and jack cheeses, and avocado on grilled French bread with seasoned potato hash tots. Everything was very good except for the hash tots. I felt like they were over seasoned and it was too much for me. I didn't get a mimosa because they ran out of champagne...lol! That's what we get for going later instead of earlier.
