The market, which I think was formerly a meat market that went by the name of Cattleman's Meat, is really small with various shelf items literally stacked as high as possible, a produce section and a meat and fish section. Overall it's a rather disorganized looking mess of place with buckets here, old towels over there, and a general hodgepodge of disorder. The cuts of meat didn't look all that good, the eyes of the fish somewhat milky and appealing. The produce section didn't really contain anything that I noted as uniquely special or out of the ordinary ethnic and the can goods, sauces and spices nothing I couldn't for the most part find at a nearby Publix. The checkout clerk, an elderly gentleman was more than friendly but the rather seedy appearance of the place plus the fact of not finding any unique spice variety of galangal, chili powders, tamarind, file or possibly one that I had never heard of or experienced before, prompted me to leave without having made any purchases. However, I did find the prices for what they did offer considerably less than might be found in one of the larger chain grocery markets, as fact which must be their key point.
