    BBQ nachos with burnt ends

With only 20 minutes to spare before my flight after long day of work, I was bummed to not be able to enjoy KC BBQ before heading home.... Until I spotted the BBQ TO GO sign! I was able to order quickly, and my order was ready within 3-4 minutes. The gentleman at the counter explained the sauces available - he recommended the spicy, sweet sauce - which didn't disappoint! Unlike so many airport meals, I was thrilled that the pico and corn were fresh, not canned vegetables. The portion was enormous, so I would recommend sharing this with 2-4 people depending on appetite. This meal was knockout - I would order it again in a heartbeat!

You cant get much better when it comes to airport BBQ. I usually get the smoked turkey & chopped brisket. Plus they have a very convenient to-go section in case you're in a hurry to catch a flight. It's a little expensive...but that's to be expected at an airport, and it's no more than other restaurants at MCI.

Got the nachos with pico for lunch! Decent amount and fairly filling for airport food. Meat was a little cold

Had two IPA's, liked them both. The 1/3 lb (that's bigger than a 1/4 for you math challenged folks) Pitmaster Burger with cheese and bacon and their mustard hinted Gold sauce was pretty good. Not juicy great, might be precooked? (Don't do that guys). Side coleslaw was creamy and prolly made yesterday, so it was onion forward. Don't do that, either guys! Make it fresh. Wife really liked their 3 sliders: turkey, pulled pork and brisket, each with a different sauce. Not a bad stop but not top notch either. Gave them a four, might have been a three, but it's Christmas rush.

Although we couldn't get drinks that didn't stop us from getting food and great customer service. The place was absolutely dead and we wanted to get some cash in the waitresses pocket, plus she was super sweet and beyond grateful. I got a salmon blt. I love salmon and BLTs so this was perfect for me... the only gripe I have about my food was I wish it was a salmon filet. The salmon seems to be a filet but cut into smaller pieces and spread around on the bun, instead of a whole piece. It was still good and I'll be making my own at home now! Fries were flavorful as well as they came with a dusting of Cajun seasoning. The restaurant itself was empty bec of the suspended liqour license but they have darts and pool and on site parking. Nice big space with seating at the bar and plenty of tables all around. Everything is spread out too so you won't feel crowded.

The wings came highly recommended by a local, since I went on a Thursday I ordered the 99cent wings. They were great!!! My wife order a pizza which she and I both enjoyed! (Thin - great cheese pull - not floppy) Lastly, I ordered the southwest chipotle burger, it was cooked very nicely I would just request more chipotle next time. Overall a great experience. I will most likely be back when I pass through town.

On a quiet night, our bartender was pulling double duty, tending bar and waiting tables with a smile. He was friendly, capable, and making it work. That kind of effort deserves recognition. Cudos. The food was acceptable, and honestly for a convenience stop while traveling, it does the job. My one genuine complaint -- and I'll own it as a pet peeve -- is the French Dip. What arrived was a chuck roast sandwich on sliced toast with au jus. The meat appeared to have been processed rather than pulled, giving it a texture somewhere between shredded and ground. It tasted fine. That's not the issue. The issue is the name. A French Dip is thinly sliced roast beef, or even prime rib, on a French roll with au jus -- a classic with a specific identity. What was served, while a perfectly respectable dish in its own right, was not that. Call it a homestyle chuck roast sandwich, a braised beef dip, anything honest -- and there is no complaint. But borrowing the French Dip name sets an expectation this dish simply does not meet. Rename the sandwich and this becomes a solid three-star airport-adjacent hotel restaurant. The effort is there. The honesty in the menu just needs to catch up.

We had the Triple Play with chips, queso, salsa, and the avocado mash, then ended with the Twin Peaks Sundae. I liked everything overall, but did have a complaint or two. The avocado mash was a bummer of a miss for me. I love avocado, especially on burgers, so I planned to add that to mine too. Unfortunately it had a lot more spice and some flavors I wasn't expecting, and I just didn't love it all together. I was hoping it would be my safe option on the Triple Play since queso and salsa can be a bit much for me. That one might be on me for not asking what was in it first. The burger though was actually really good. Juicy, simple bar food flavors and exactly what I wanted. The fries were crispy and fresh, and it's honestly pretty easy to mess up fries, but they didn't at all. The sundae was the best part for us. Super rich with that hot fudge Ghirardelli brownie and just really fun to dig into with those two big scoops on top. I did feel a little limited on what I could order because I can't handle much heat in my food. If you like spicier leaning bar food, you'll probably have way more options than I did. Service was really good. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and on top of things. The whole Twin Peaks staff vibe is part of the experience, but they were all still super nice and professional, which I appreciated. Overall it's a solid spot if you're in the mood for this kind of atmosphere. Just maybe check the menu ahead if you have any restrictions.

My main complaint is the QR code menu such a PIA, I asked for a paper menu and finally got one but it was outdated. 3 of us got fish n chips it was hot but the fish was not breaded much and kinda small portions, also got a small tin of ketchup 1/2 full but a full one of tartar sauce so we had to ask for more ketchup weird small things like these make it an unpleasant experience. the atmosphere was great watching the royals season opener and the drinks were really tasty
