Local & legendary: KC Bier's Winterbock.

There's a reason they call it 'happy hour' and Old Chicago definitely knows why. They've got the shareables and the drinks to make your after-work time well spent. This OC is connected to the Hilton Gardens Inn near the KC airport. The spacious dining area is completed by a U-shaped bar and the TV sightlines are outstanding anywhere inside. Have a seat at the bar, sample beer both local and well-known, and order from a strong menu. OC's pizza is really darn good, and I suggest the thin crust, which is not *too* thin and still holds all of its toppings. I'm an easy mark for the Pepperoni Rolls, a stellar appetizer that comes with marinara and is shareable but only if you like the person you're sharing with, otherwise, eat them all. This location is currently only open 3-10, but that's plenty of time to fill in a late lunch, a happy hour, or catch supper during a game. There is ample space, super friendly staff and quick service, and the food is worth the visit. They almost always have some sort of promo going, like a beer tour or whatever, so you'll have tons of options when stopping in.

Food was surprisingly decent for hotel food. The place was a decent sports bar with everything you'd expect. However - 10p closing is incredibly difficult. After a night out and not wanting to leave the hotel i would have paid good money for a beer after hours.

This was located close to the Hilton near the KC airport and i didn't want to venture out too far. I went early and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and did a good job. I ate what i could of the pizza - for individual size it was a lot of food so i took some to go. The pizza was good, beer was cold and place was clean. Will absolutely come back and try some other items on the menu the next time I'm in town.

This was conveniently located in the Hilton Garden at the airport in Kansas City. I eat gluten-free so I just had a gluten-free pizza with no crust. It turned out amazing! Plenty of topping and cheesy! The service was good. Friendly and prompt. There is no room service but t

We always get the double deckeroni pizza. The hamburger rolls are so good. Tons of beer on tap if that's your thing.

We had the Triple Play with chips, queso, salsa, and the avocado mash, then ended with the Twin Peaks Sundae. I liked everything overall, but did have a complaint or two. The avocado mash was a bummer of a miss for me. I love avocado, especially on burgers, so I planned to add that to mine too. Unfortunately it had a lot more spice and some flavors I wasn't expecting, and I just didn't love it all together. I was hoping it would be my safe option on the Triple Play since queso and salsa can be a bit much for me. That one might be on me for not asking what was in it first. The burger though was actually really good. Juicy, simple bar food flavors and exactly what I wanted. The fries were crispy and fresh, and it's honestly pretty easy to mess up fries, but they didn't at all. The sundae was the best part for us. Super rich with that hot fudge Ghirardelli brownie and just really fun to dig into with those two big scoops on top. I did feel a little limited on what I could order because I can't handle much heat in my food. If you like spicier leaning bar food, you'll probably have way more options than I did. Service was really good. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and on top of things. The whole Twin Peaks staff vibe is part of the experience, but they were all still super nice and professional, which I appreciated. Overall it's a solid spot if you're in the mood for this kind of atmosphere. Just maybe check the menu ahead if you have any restrictions.

And it's further afield than we normally do for date night so it felt like a choice he wouldn't expect, which is how we roll. We arrived at about 6:30 on a Friday and it was pleasantly full but not crazy. I had reservations, obviously. The staff had all signed a nice postcard on the table to note his birthday. After we put in our drink order (he got an old-fashioned and I got a Dr Pepper, since I was driving), our server brought over two bottles of Prosecco, one being NA since she wasn't sure if I drank or not, and offered us a toast for his birthday. I thought it was a nice gesture. They ask that you put in your full order at the top of the meal so they can pace it properly. We started with the whipped goat cheese with brussels sprouts and fried saltines. An interesting dish and fun to see saltines reimagined as something high-end. He got their gigantic pork chop and I got a perfectly cooked and delicious KC strip with the creamiest mashed potatoes. I saw half butter and half cream and I thought, that's for me! Lol. That wasn't a cheap entree, but it did include a sauce (I got béarnaise) and a choice of side. I took more than half of my meal home. At that point, she brought out the dessert menu and Kyle decided on the flourless chocolate cake, which is one of his favorites, but that he often doesn't get at a restaurant because so many restaurants buy their stuff from Sysco now. And holy cow, it's the best dessert I've had in ages! A great reminder of how good a flourless chocolate cake can be. Anyway, I definitely would recommend Acre. They did a great job of making my fiance feel really special and just generally had terrific service and wonderful elevated food. Helpful hint: there is a $25pp no show fee on reservations, so be aware of that, and cancel at least 24 hours out if you think you might need to.

I have ordered the slow blossom cocktail and it was amazing. Sweet and sour as our server described. My husband got old fashioned and he thought it was just average. We ordered beef tartare to start with and wow. All you can taste is spicy mustard, it's like eating spoonful of wasabi. Even thought we have mentioned this to our server we did not received any offer to replace it or compensation at the end of our meal. We ordered housemade ricotta cappalletti and that was the best dish! Although the portion was a bit on smaller side it tasted amazing!! We also ordered roasted campo lingo hen - it was good but not amazing. The proportions were off. We got full chicken breast and full leg with 2 pieces of broccolini and maybe like 2tbs mashed potatoes disappearing under chicken leg tasting just okay. For desert we got dark chocolate crème- overall very good. Needed just a bit more or raspberry ice cream( not sure if it was ice cream or gelato or sorbet). Overall I don't think it was worth going back and price tag. I found staters list short and not much variety. Wanted to recommend other carb/cracker options for starters. Goat cheese whip sounded amazing but why would I want fried saltine crackers with it?? Beef tartare came with these seed lavosh that was more like very salty thin crackers. I didn't get it. Additionally - the air conditioning was very aggressive. It was keep blowing right on top of us alternating between cold and hot. Was disruptive.
