We ordered a calzone and just split it as they are huge, so plenty for both of us. I just wish it would have been warmer. We also ordered mozzarella sticks, which were really good. This OC is connected to the Hilton Gardens Inn near the KC airport. The spacious dining area is completed by a U-shaped bar and the TV sightlines are outstanding anywhere inside. Have a seat at the bar, sample beer both local and well-known, and order from a strong menu. OC's pizza is really darn good, and I suggest the thin crust, which is not *too* thin and still holds all of its toppings. I'm an easy mark for the Pepperoni Rolls, a stellar appetizer that comes with marinara and is shareable but only if you like the person you're sharing with, otherwise, eat them all. This location is currently only open 3-10, but that's plenty of time to fill in a late lunch, a happy hour, or catch supper during a game. Our expectations were not high so I ordered the chicken fingers with the sweet chili Thai sauce on the side. I cannot overstate how my expectations were exceeded.....WOW. These things were so delicious that I have to write a review. I mean......I NEVER do this, but this is important. I've always considered chicken fingers to be a child's food, or something generic and preferred by those with a limited palate. I was wrong. We used to eat this at this place when I was young. Let me tell you that this place is not the same. This is one of the worst places I've ever been to in my adult life. The service was kids that were sitting down playing chess. We sat down, then four other people came in and there both was covered with food that was never cleaned off. Our waiter was very matter of fact, hat on backwards and wearing jeans. The chicken tenders were very good. Except there was supposed to be 6 but we got 5. My sons pizza was just dripping oil all over the table and he used about thirty napkins to get the majority of it up. It was a little loud, but it was mostly the table next to us. Our appetizers came out pretty quick. We got fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. Delicious & we're very fresh. Pickles had the right amount of seasoning & just the right amount of crunch as were the mozzarella sticks. It didn't take long and we had our entrees. We got a calzone (meatball, pepperoni, chicken and extra cheese). That thing was pretty big. You get a calzone you better be hungry! It's very filling. A little greasy, but not bad. Late lunch was the priority of the day after arriving in Kansas City on a brisk October 2019 trip and meeting up with friends. We ended up here at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom. Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom is similar to Chili's, since their restaurant layout and menu choices seem to mirror each other. At first, we couldn't find the restaurant from the main road, but we ended up finding it since the entrance was located on the backside of a hotel. You could see it off the interstate but not from the local road fronting the hotel. With that said, my friends and I arrived here around 2pm on a cool Thursday afternoon. The restaurant was quiet and was well kept. It was funny that we had our Pokémon Go apps open on our phone and the server admitted to us that he pays too, which was awesome. With that said, the experience here at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom lasted about an hour. They had an assortment of beers that fit their lunch specials, but apparently what I wanted didn't fit in, so I just decided on ice tea instead. I ended up with their cheeseburger with fries, which was ordered medium. The ambiance was nice and quiet. The burger itself hit the spot after 10 hours of travel. Quite nice to be able to sit down and enjoy friends and good food here in Kansas City. The overall experience here at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom was quite nice and in a quiet area near the Kansas City international airport. It's location is at 10920 N Ambassador Avenue and located on the first floor of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. Just be aware that you won't see it from the local road since they don't have a sign in front, but you could spot it on the interstate coming in. They accept major credit cards and also do cash too. I arrived with friends after being picked up from the airport, so it is a place where you can go for a nice meal prior to leaving Kansas City or after arriving. Not sure about public transportation to get here, but best bet would be to arrive early enough to grab a bite before heading off to your flight. Also, uber and Lyft are viable choices for you to get here too. The service here was good and friendly, while being professional and courteous at the same time. I was impressed by the way they had their menu laid out and how much items they had for lunch and dinner. It was similar to Chili's honestly. The prices here were decent, as it mirrored many other places for overpriced burgers that cost $10 on average, but I digress. With that said, I was probably my first time to the Old Chicago brand, although I would have to check. First time to this location pretty sure; I know. I just went with my friend's suggestions and it turned out to work well. Who can't resist a burger and fries right after arriving on a jet plane in Kansas City? For the most part though, the experience was worth the trip and wished I had sampled a beer or two from here, especially when I wasn't driving at all for the weekend I was in the area. Oh well, next time. I felt like the burger was cooked on point and the fries were certainly spot on. Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom is place that i would recommend if you're heading to or from the airport and need a bite to eat before heading on your way to wherever you need to go. The restaurant is as intimate as you would like it to be but loud enough to be a sports bar on any given weekend for college football and other awesome games. Last night while reading one of my favorite food forums, I read that a new Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom had opened up on North Ambassador Drive. Well, that sounded interesting, so I decided to check it out. They call it the Italian Melt. They slice turkey breast, salami and pepperoni, top it with provolone cheese, put it all on grilled rye bread, slather that with red pepper mayo, add lettuce, tomatoes and pepperoncini.  Standing higher tan Mount Everest, it was delicious! First time I was at Old Chicago at this location I was over charged on the price of the food. Menu was cheaper and lucky I caught it. Second time was they ran out of some food. They just replaced things without telling you. The best was my order of wings. No carrots or celery but the put broccoli on the plate. I did have a great laugh. Third time was I ordered a large Meat Me pizza asking to add extra sausage. When it came out I thought they forgot to add extra sausage. I asked the waiter and he said no it looks right I put it on the order. I laughed and said okay. Lucky I had a coupon for a free pizza. I took a pic of the pizza so you can decide. What a disappointment and an insult to my family... We've been to the Old Chicago in Liberty and was able to sit at the bar with our 18 year daughter for dinner. The bartender was rude right off the bat, he told us that we can not sit at the bar because our daughter was not 21, which was no big deal but he was RUDE!!!
