Dr. Dufford returned my call promptly and he was very kind and understanding to my situation as usual. Sadly, Dr. Dufford was not able to fit me in as a returning patient at the time that I called, Dr. Dufford instead gave me a referral to two other Psychologists that specialize in treating the Complex PTSD that I suffer from and was recently diagnosed with. Dr. Michelle Chabbot was the Psychologist that I first reached out to following the multiple traumatic events that led to my Complex PTSD diagnoses and that caused my PTSD Panic Attack. I study Psychology myself, and I was very shaken when I contacted Dr. Chabbot, as I'd never experienced at PTSD Panic Attack before, and I never even knew that someone could suffer from something as terrible as a PTSD Panic Attack. Dr. Chabbot answered the phone immediately, and she was kind and caring enough to take the time to help me immediately. She even answered some emergency questions that I had regarding my recent Complex PTSD diagnoses and the PTSD Panic Attack that I suffered. Dr. Chabbot did all of this for me during her time off on the weekend, when she was out of town on vacation. Talking with Dr. Chabbot, meant so very much to me. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Chabbot and I immediately knew that I was in good hands with regards to finding help to treat my Complex PTSD Disability. I'll be continuing my treatment with Dr. Chabbot moving forward, and I'll be sure to update my review along the way as well. I can tell Dr. Chabbot is an extremely gifted and knowledgeable Psychologist, and she is exceptionally knowledgeable and gifted in the area of PTSD especially. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Chabbot/Dr. Dufford, if you are ever in need. I also urge anyone reading this to reach out to Dr. Dufford/Dr. Chabbot if you are in any need of mental healthcare. It's vital to seek the aid of a Psychologist if you've ever experienced going through a traumatic life event (such as a car accident, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, Ableist bullying, really anything that happens that is traumatic in life, can potentially lead to PTSD I'm told. On top of this, in my own personal experience, PTSD appears to me to be a self fueling condition/ mental illness/disability, meaning that PTSD can worsen over time, if left untreated. What this means is that, it's vital to seek the help of a qualified mental healthcare professional immediately following a traumatic life event. If one doesn't immediately get the treatment that one needs, ones PTSD could quickly worsen, that and one could easily develop "layers" of PTSD, from multiple traumatic events as well. In addition to this, PTSD can also VERY QUICKLY develop into a life threatening condition/mental illness/disability, so please don't ever hesitate to get seek immediate help. Even if you just suspect you might need help, then immediately seek out that help as your mental health can quickly worsen, leaving you in a life threatening situation.

For those needing proper identification and accommodations for academic and professional workplace environments, the testing and finalized report process may take longer than larger clinics with more of a for-as-much-profit-as-possible business focused centers that produce quick, standardized reports for often singular and non-complex diagnoses. For the extra time taken by Sr. Dahl, is the added benefit of a thoughtful, thorough evaluation and insight from a professional who genuinely wants to see you succeed. Dr. Dahl embodies something rare: genuine, unconditional positive regard, with the type of intellect to know exactly what and who he's observing and extending that grace to. What I have not seen stated online in any review of Dr. Dahl is that he consistently demonstrates empathy and strong ethical boundaries needed for those with complex trauma to feel safe addressing their needs. For those that are particularly vulnerable, we try to have faith those we entrust will not re-traumatize us. Dr. Dahl earned and upheld that faith. Dr. Dahl provided protection, guidance, integrity, and understanding in difficult situations I have failed to observe in any attorney, social worker, law enforcement administrator or officer, local politician, private investigator, physician, DV counselor, or even EMDR trauma-specialized therapist, in over a decade long commitment to overcoming trauma. When I was in danger, Dr. Dahl saw past manipulation and properly identified the harm and the individual's responsible before I could articulate that fully. Dr. Dahl took action to protect me, knowing it could risk his professional reputation. The person harming me and my child was actively paying attorneys to harass him, stir up confrontation, threaten, and lodge complaints against Dr. Dahl. Dr. Dahl recognized the layers of coercive control, my abuser utilized to disguise their factitious disorder by proxy as this martyr-caregiver. He understood my health conditions impacted cognition, caused sudden skill loss, and left me vulnerable to increased harm and helped me be able to keep me and my child safe. My background: AuDHD, metastatic cancer cancer, and complex multi-system caused ADA disabilities since childhood, significant childhood abuse, religious, cult, and TTI trauma, SA and domestic violence since childhood through adulthood, and subjugation to situations such as human trafficking. Initially, I came in for a mandatory neuropsych evaluation after relocating to Santa Clara, CA, post-cancer treatment. The evaluation was required to access medication I had been prescribed since childhood. Frankly, I was annoyed I had to get an eval. that med was not just for ADHD but for incapacitating fatigue. After the eval, I was the one who approached Dr. Dahl to inquire if he offered weekly therapy. I had just moved to the area immediately post cancer treatment, had a child with health and neurodivergent needs, and had just escaped a host of familial abuse, assault, and a fraudulent 5150 attempt because family members would rather believe fantasy that portrayed then as victims instead of perpetrators over the validity of my cancer diagnosis. How dysfunctional! In his method of addressing very sensitive trauma, included helping me understand that trauma within the context of intergenerational trauma and the needs for self differential (a la Dr. Murray Bowen), as someone whose family was impacted by surviving both as innocent child civilians and occupying forces within active war zones. Dr. Dahl allowed me to reconnect with trust, clarity, and a sense of safety I had lost through years of invalidation, punishment, abuse, and torture disguised as help. My experience with him also revealed the inexperience of those I had sought help from previously, who, when combined with ego and financial ambition, caused me great harm and exploited from my dedication to seeking help instead of having the integrity to refer their patient to someone properly qualified. Dr. Dahl's insight and steady professionalism made a difference not only in my care but in my ability to believe healing was possible, and not just a wellness gimmick or self care disguised as over self absorption. While I was unable to continue seeing Dr. Dahl past 2020 because our country's insurance system is a prime example of systemic and structural failure, I know I would not be where I am now without this man. He protected not just me but my child. I will never forget him.

This is not a five star facity Upon admission, we were informed that my mother had a contagious infection and should be placed in a private room due to infection-control concerns. Despite this, she was initially placed in a room with another resident. This raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of both patients and whether proper precautions were being followed. The quality of daily care has also fallen far below expectations. My mother has repeatedly been left cold and unable to obtain an extra blanket when requested. She has experienced significant delays in receiving assistance after soiling herself, often waiting far too long to be cleaned and changed. Staff frequently tell her they will return "in a minute" only for hours to pass before anyone comes back. Basic requests such as a clean drinking cup, water, and ice have either been denied or delayed. On one occasion, she was told she would have to wait until breakfast the next day for a clean cup. These are basic necessities that should never be difficult for a patient to obtain. Communication has also been a major challenge. My mother often has difficulty understanding staff members, and there are frequent situations where she does not understand what they are saying or they do not seem to understand what she is requesting. This has created frustration and confusion and has made it difficult for her to have her needs addressed in a timely manner. Most concerning, she does not appear to be receiving the level of rehabilitation services necessary to help her regain her strength, mobility, and independence. Families place their loved ones in rehabilitation facilities with the expectation that they will receive attentive care, effective therapy, and treatment with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. I hope facility leadership takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements to patient care, communication, responsiveness, infection-control practices, and rehabilitation services.
