Got my car back and it ran like crap. Felt like a cable was slapping around, back up lights did not work (They did prior) and the clutch chattered a lot. They told me to let the clutch slip and it would wear down. Brought it to Bob's Automotive in Sunrise. They told me the transmission mount was ruptured, the transmission was only held in with three bolts, the throw out bearing was never changed and my clutch cable was extremely loose. The pressure plate was warped and the back up switch was damaged. Had to re-pay to have the transmission done again. Car runs great now. I also paid less for a new clutch and labor then Gold Coast charged me for just labor...so not a good experience.

I found this shop via a facebook ad -- and read the reviews on Yelp which were mostly 4-5 stars. I…read morebrought in my SUV for a possible throttle body problem that another shop couldn't repair. (Vehicle wouldn't drive over 10mph due to its' engine design) I also chose them because they offered free towing. I explained my problem on the phone and they said they'd do a diagnosis of their own. So had them come pick up my SUV. It took them a few days to figure it out, and they eventually they discovered it was the transmission not being able to go into 4th gear and confirmed that it was not my throttle body. Now, I needed my transmission rebuilt!! Since they had me up on the rack already and the car wouldn't drive, I didn't want to be without a vehicle for emergency reasons, so I agreed to their repair quote. (Seemingly way over priced @$99/hr labor charges). That took about a week to fix, and to their credit they even discovered that in the process of fixing it another transmission problem happened while they were repairing it and fixed that under their warranty. Much appreciated. While they had the vehicle I inquired about fixing a clicking noise from behind my dash dealing with the air flow actuators. They said they could fix it. They figured out what was wrong and got me a price -- a few hundred, but not bad considering, so I approved the additional costs. Here's how they lost 4 stars and any future business. When I came to pickup my SUV -- I noticed that the dash was damaged and had a long crack in it and a piece was chipped off. This was obviously from their attempts to diagnose and fix the air flow issue. The dash had clear signs of recent damage due to being forced or something stressing the plastic such as pressure from trying to pry off the trim, leaning or dropping something on it. When I asked them about it (Mike, owner or manager, not sure) - they said that they didn't break it and tried to explain where they actually did the work, which was in the driver's leg area. I assured them that it was not broken when the took possession of the vehicle. They refused to take ANY responsibility!!! When I pushed if they could get a replacement part they refused. Mike said they'll install the part for me for free if I found the part. They wouldn't even consider reimbursing me for the part. WTF sort of Bull Sh*t is that? So, if they accidentally punctured my gas tank would that would be my problem too??? NO! I bet they would fix it on their own and chalk that up to cost of doing business. Subsequently -- when I got home and researched how to remove this trim part - found out that it's a very easy process to remove it. It was obvious that they had NO CLUE on how to remove the trim to access behind the dash, and probably didn't even attempt to look it up online. I also discovered that a 2nd piece of trim was also damaged in attempting to make the quested repair. The worst and most insulting unprofessional part of all this is that they didn't even have the balls to let me know this happened in advance. What did they think - I wouldn't see a crack on my dash that I drive daily?? So Mike -- what do you have to say about this? It will be a cold day in hell before I use them again. I suggest you stay away too.

I went to A1A because a good friend of mine said that they do honest work. I met the nice lady at the front desk, and she introduced me to Steve. Steve took me on a test drive with his head mechanic and some fancy scanner. Not 2-minutes into the test drive Steve turns to me and says Gio, you do not need a transmission, the issue I was having was a p0300 Multiple misfire which causes the car to drive horrible and feel as if it's not going anywhere. I could not believe that my car didn't have a transmission problem which Ed Morse Cadillac told me would cost me $9000 to repair. I went to my personal mechanic and had a tune up replace all plugs, wires and coils and had my Escalade driving like new for under $2000. I had to take a minute to write an honest review because not very often I come across good people who do good things. Thank you Steve and you now have a customer for life.

My husband's Nissan Leaf was experiencing AC issues and we were quoted an astronomical amount of money by the dealership to fix a what we thought was a small repair. Majority, if not all all of the non-dealership repair shops refused to work on a full EV's as they do not have the required qualifications. Reece from Vertical was super nice and very reassuring on my first phone call that they not only have the certification with the experience to do so. It was very easy to bring in and drop it off our vehicle. All of the staff we encountered was very friendly. They took about 2 to 3 days to diagnose the issue. It turns out that there really wasn't an issue to begin with, even though the dealership was convinced we had some sort of line leak. They ran a test that the dealership didn't even offer us to run. And determined that the AC was working normally it just needed a little bit of time to warm up ironically. Upon picking up my vehicle, the mechanic that worked on it actually recommended that we get the windows tinted, which would help with the AC since it's been so hot. He said that EV's run a little differently than gas vehicles when it comes to the AC. They even offered for us to bring the vehicle back if we were experiencing the same issue again. Overall, I highly recommend Vertical Auto. They are conveniently located on Oakland Park Boulevard and I-95. I will definitely be returning to them for our future mechanic related needs.

I had a 2019 Ford Transient Connect and then brought in my Nephews 2007 Dodge 3500. Dale, the owner and his Son treated me like a long lost friend and are real square shooters and gave honest advice in regard to my equipment. I'm an Aircraft technician for a major airline and former Fireman / truck maintainer so I have a good idea what's going on! Dale was beyond fair with me and saved me Thousands in repairs With good advice to his detriment. Example, He could have fixed my Ford Transient Connect costing thousands but advised me "the transmission overall a defective design, I should get rid of it and sell it as is. " I traded it to car dealer and a year latter I received notice from Ford regarding it's transmission replacement.  I saw the review below involving the guy with the 1975 Eldorado and asked Dale about it. As an aircraft mechanic for 42 years, I can tell you as a technician we are not perfect all the time and sometimes things go wrong. Even the owner of the 1975 Eldorado admited it "Serious mistake but things happen". To me, It's how you recover from your mistakes that count! After speaking in depth with Dale about the issue and the video and photographic evidence he presented me, I feel Dale went above and beyond to remedy his mistake and fairly assuage a unsatisfied customer. However, as a Technician I have found in Life there are people you just can't make happy or they want things for free. I now have a friend and Transmission go to guy!
