Transmission problems! I had several people recommendations me to Paul's Transmission for work and thus I used their services twice. I had a 2019 Ford Transient Connect and then brought in my Nephews 2007 Dodge 3500. Dale, the owner and his Son treated me like a long lost friend and are real square shooters and gave honest advice in regard to my equipment. I'm an Aircraft technician for a major airline and former Fireman / truck maintainer so I have a good idea what's going on! Dale was beyond fair with me and saved me Thousands in repairs With good advice to his detriment. Example, He could have fixed my Ford Transient Connect costing thousands but advised me "the transmission overall a defective design, I should get rid of it and sell it as is. " I traded it to car dealer and a year latter I received notice from Ford regarding it's transmission replacement.  I saw the review below involving the guy with the 1975 Eldorado and asked Dale about it. As an aircraft mechanic for 42 years, I can tell you as a technician we are not perfect all the time and sometimes things go wrong. Even the owner of the 1975 Eldorado admited it "Serious mistake but things happen". To me, It's how you recover from your mistakes that count! After speaking in depth with Dale about the issue and the video and photographic evidence he presented me, I feel Dale went above and beyond to remedy his mistake and fairly assuage a unsatisfied customer. Not all car repair shop are crooked. I took my Honda to the dealer as my ac did not work. The dealer quoted me $2100 to repair the ac and said that I need a car computer. I wanted second opinion and took my car to "Paul Transmission " and they repaired it in one day for$150. I didn't need new computer only a pressure valve. I have a 1979 Chevy C10 that's Corvette Z06 blue. I brought my truck in for a transmission universal fill tube and a tranny service. They made a mistake by giving me a solid price to fix it and they stood by their word. They had to drop the tranny and move a bunch of parts to continue the job... not only did they fix the problem, but they gave me a new flywheel, tightened up some frame issues and did it with passion, they even came in on the weekend to complete the job. Had Paul's Transmission install a new front axle in my vintage car. The next time I drove the car, the axle fell out. Fortunately I wasn't on the highway. Had it towed back to Paul's. Turns out they never put on the bolts that hold the axle on. Serious mistake but things happen, so I didn't make a big deal about it. I brought it back again for a new air conditioning compressor. Next time I drove it I was on the highway and the belt on the new compressor fell off and the engine overheated and ruined the original engine in my mint 1975 Eldorado. Had it towed back to Paul's. Turns out they installed the wrong size compressor, which caused the belt to fall off. Dale the owner was very apologetic and assured me he would have the engine rebuilt at his expense and it would be as good as new. He had my car for a year! He kept making excuses, telling me that he sent the engine out to a machine shop and they were backed up. After that amount of time I just wanted my car back. When I started asking for him to return my car he blew up at me, swearing at me and screaming at me. He even threatened me that his wife was a lawyer. I just wanted my car back, I patiently waited for a year. Turns out he never even sent the engine out as he kept telling me. I finally got my car back and brought it somewhere else to get fixed. Update a year after Paul's Transmission initially looked at my transmission that had started slipping on 3rd, it finally needed to be replaced. Dale and his shop replaced the transmission in a couple of days and it's been driving like new. The price was exactly the same as what was originally quoted. I'm really happy to have replaced the transmission and keep my car running so I didn't have to go car shopping for another used car that may have its own problems. They also fixed some repairs that were needed like an engine mount and valve seal so I'm confident that my Honda CRV is in good shape for another couple hundred thousand. So, I'd like to base this review on the actual service that Paul's transmission provided. Unfortunately, when I contacted the shop and asked for a Quote on my 2010 Honda Accord that has had regular maintence done per Honda's recommendation, the guy stated that my car is "too old" and "would be like opening a can of worms". All things considered, the average age of a vehicle in the US is 12-13 years old and the 4 cylinder Honda accord is one of the easiest cars to work on, I don't think that Paul's Transmission is up to the task of working on any car. I am writing this review for my Mother. My mother was experiencing issues w/ her car, after taking it to a machine in Lighthouse Point she was told it was her transmission and that it would cost any where from $2,000 to $3,700. Dreading spending that much on a car that is 2013 or 2014 (not exactly sure) and a car that she just bought less then 6 months ago she started talking to people. My sister's boyfriend recommended that she take it here to be looked at. Dale serviced my mom and before doing anything including giving her a quote he checked the Ford website to put in her symptoms she was experiencing and discovered that there was actually a recall on the transmission, which is what the symptoms lead to the issue. Dale instructed my mom to take it to Ford because her call fell under the age and mileage limits to get the recall honored. Moral of the story: This company is very honest and trust worthy! Dale could have over looked the recall and got my Mom for every penny she had! Being a single women, myself as well as my mother, going to a car repair shop is nerve racking however not at Paul's Transmission!!! Def recommend this place!! read more

I had just received a quote from another transmission shop who wanted a minimum of $795.00 before the final bill. I called Dale at Paul's Transmission to discuss the issue I was having. He told me he could inspect it and give me an estimate without opening the transmission. He hooked it up to his computers and his years of experience told him that it might not be the transmission.It ended up being the throttle mechanism. I was referred to Dale of Paul's Transmission by a friend who has had good experiences with him in the past. He told me that Dale would treat me right and be fare and honest about my Van's mechanical issues. Dale was exactly like he said a straight up good guy Mechanic who didn't mind spending a little extra time figuring out what was wrong with my van and why it was driving so rough. It was very odd and seemed like it was the transmission, but come to find out it was my Calipers sticking! In the heat in traffic it would act up and felt like I was driving with my foot on the brake, which I was not! Dale diagnosed it and it was a quick, affordable, and easy fix! He also fixed a few other things as well and got me back on the road for close to nothing! He could've taken advantage of me being a woman and not knowing much about these things, but he was honest and explained it all to me so I could understand. A really great mechanic like Dale with integrity is hard to come by, but you can if you go see him at Paul's like I did and you'll be glad too! What a great experience. Had to take Volvo in for major transmission repair. Being Volvo it took a long time to get the parts and was without a car for over a week. Thank goodness for a friends car. Paul's transmission could not have been better. They stayed in constant contact updating me on the progress of the car. They were straight forward, trying to do the best possible work at the best price. However, they prepared me for the worse if car needed further parts. Car is running great. I brought my minivan into Paul's transmission for what I thought was leaking transmission fluid. They had replaced my transmission in a different vehicle and I was pleased with the service so I returned. As it turned out, Dale said an engine oil leak had caused a radiator hose to deteriorate and that caused the leak of the red fluid I noticed on my garage floor. After new gaskets and a radiator hose, my problems are solved. No more drips on my garage floor!!! I wouldn't go anywhere else for transmission work ...and now oil/coolant leaks!!! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH. Found Paul's online and went to talk to dale the owner about repairs, very nice guy at first and super helpful about what I needed in repairs. I took his advice and had them rebuild to a tune of $2300. That lasted 1 month and 1800 miles until it blew up on trip to Michigan. Had it towed to another shop where it cost another $4200 so far. Dale did not honor his word or workmanship so $2300 I paid down the drain. He blamed problem on everything else but his work and said he doesn't think he is liable for new repairs. Ridiculous. I went to Paul's transmissions for a transmission on my f250. Dale the owner was cool at first of course because he quoted me $4300 dollars for a stage 2 full rebuild. I went with his shop because 2 very good mechanics referred me. He did the work to my transmission and when I got the truck back he told me I'd never have to worry about the transmission again it'll last for at least 100,000 miles. I took my truck back before the 12,000 mile warranty was up before I was going to work in Georgia to have them check it out before the 1200 mile trip. I felt something weird and it was the torque converter slipping in the lock up gears and their mechanic couldn't even figure it out. I brought my girl friend and a good buddy of mine and their excuse was they couldn't do a proper test drive because my "friends" were with me. I told Dale if that was the case he should've left us at the shop and he could've done whatever he wanted to do with the truck to do a proper test drive. On the way back from work in Georgia my transmission felt different. The night I got back I was driving down university drive and it blew doing 45 mph. I called him the next day and he told me he would send a tow truck and bring it to his shop to rebuild. He told me he would take care of it. 3 days after he picked my truck up I had not heard from him and I called him and he told me that it was going to be another 3k and he already started the work. So to make a long story shitt this guy is a real scammer. After he rebuilt the transmission I had it for 3 hours and it was already running hot. It was running at 245 degrees and I called him and he said that was normal. I brought it to his shop so he could feel that the torque converter was slipping and he could not figure out why the tranny was running hot after running various tests on it. I DO NOT recommend anyone to this piece of work. He has scammed me and will continue to scam others. I am printing out a large decal for the back of my truck that says DO NOT USE PAULS TRANSMISSIONS. After all of the problems you think he would give me a refund or at least half but he continued to try to charge me. read more

Brought my truck into the shop due to the AC having some serious issues not blowing cold air and trying my quick fix of recharging the AC didn't work. Same day i brought it in, I got a quick diagnostic of the AC compressor was basically not doing anything anymore. Quoted me a reasonable price to replace the compressor and 2 other parts that should be replaced along with it. They worked with my schedule for bringing it in a week later to have the work done and a day and half later it was all buttoned up and ready to go. While they were working on my truck they noticed the Evap was completely clogged and called me before doing any extra work to see if I wanted that taken care of while they had the truck apart. I am always very wary about mechanics as we all know there are plenty of shady ones that get busted on hidden camera shows lying to customers, charging for services not performed and products purchased but never installed. A few days ago, I took my Buick Rendevous in to a different mechanic in Hollywood (Donald J Auto Repair) because it was not shifting gears out of first gear. Well, they told me I needed a completely rebuilt transmission for $1695.00. Thank goodness I sought a 2nd opinion. The next day I drove it in to Paul's Transmission after seeing their online ad. They took the vehicle for a spin, then put it up on the rack to check underneath. The mechanics determined the reason it wasn't shifting was because the electrical wiring to the speedometer had come loose, resulting in the vehicle not knowing to shift out of first gear. They soldered the wiring back in place in about 20 minutes and sure enough it was good as new. I thanked them profusely and asked how much I owed. They told me that I didn't have to pay ANYTHING. Well, this blew my mind and reassured my confidence that at least one honest mechanic shop exists who is not out to fleece the public but rather create a lifetime customer. I have a 2009 BMW that I took because I was having sluggish movement when I took off in the morning. They looked at my transmission fluid, and determined that I needed to have the pan dropped to see whether or not I had metal in the pan. Good Day, On July 14 in the early afternoon I stopped by to have them look at my passenger rear tire after having a bad experience at Tire Choice on Commercial Boulevard near Dixie Highway on the South side of Commercial Boulevard. I was told by Tire Choice the side wall of my rear passenger tire was damaged and I couldn't drive much longer on the tire. Tires at Tire Choice started at $86.00 this mechanic informed me. I didn't purchase a tire from Tire Choice. Paul's Transmissions immediately helped me, two men looked at my tire. I explained what the Mechanic at Tire Choice (not A OK Tires which I originally thought) had informed me. They mechanics at Paul Transmissions shook there heads and gave me a look like they couldn't believe it. These mechanics at Paul Transmissions told me nothing was wrong with my tire, side wall and in fact my tire looked brand new. I have a 14 year old car which I have only had 6 years and have put on 1000 miles a year. I only have 45,000 miles on my car.
