Given that other companies basically were telling me that they'd call me at some point if a slot opened up (it's been days and I haven't heard back from two of them), having someone give me any assurance that they are coming is appreciated. The technician wore a mask the whole time he was in my home and asked permission before using my bathroom, both nice things to see. The technician also was willing to try to fix the controls (it was an issue with the buttons) before charging me a bunch to order new parts and have a second service visit, so it cost less than I was expecting. Overall if you need an appliance repaired I recommend calling Nickel.

Mike said we are very busy and that he would have someone take a look either today or tomorrow. Much to my surprise a young man named Alex stopped by to look at my problem at 7 pm after an entire day of working on other peoples broken systems. Alex was spectacular! He evaluated the problem and got the air conditioner working promptly. I was very happy with the response and work that Alex completed and the price was fair. I will be calling this company for my heating and cooling future repairs!

They asked for some relevant details, and informed me that according to my serial number, it was about 19 years old. He told me what it would cost to install a comparable heater (not an estimate; the out the door cost regardless of what snags they may encounter). He also told me that he could have a crew out the following morning. True to his word, they called first to give me a time and showed up early. They put on booties before entering the house and went right to work. They were friendly yet professional and did a fantastic job. I would not hesitate to hire them again for all my HVAC needs.

I was traveling for work and my wife had no choice but to use this company because they were the only ones who could come out quickly. Big mistake. The tech diagnosed my indoor blower motor issue during the initial $189 assessment. He then quoted over $5,120 for a simple ECM blower motor replacement -- including separate inflated charges for "motor module/program" ($2,488) and "motor winding/special order" ($2,294). He claimed it needed special ordering and programming at a distribution center. After researching the exact model (Genteq 5SME39SL0674), I discovered these motors are readily available for $500-$800 as pre-programmed drop-in replacements from multiple suppliers. Labor should have been a few hundred dollars at most. This quote was 3-5 times what a fair price should be. I could even justify 3500 max in an emergency type situation. But the $5150 is an egregious amount for what was required. I felt completely taken advantage of, especially since my wife and child were in a bind with no AC. The "non-refundable once programmed" line felt like a classic pressure tactic. The service was completed, but the value was nowhere near what I paid. After tried to repeatedly get some sort of costs justification from the Manager during a call the next day, even being open minded to the HVAC system being described as the "Cadillac" of HVAC (2011 purchased and installed by the way) I received no back-up support and feel that this was just such a scammy way to run a company. Because of the blatant carelessness in working with a customer, I will be pursuing other means If you're looking for honest HVAC work, look elsewhere. This experience left me feeling ripped off and frustrated. Never again.
