This internet/cable service does shady things. When you cancel their overpriced service $121.99-$133.99 then they offer it at $34.95 to stay with them. So when you cancel there service and and they send you a box and label you send it to them and they claim they didn't receive it until 11 months and hold on to your money for 11 months. They charge late fees when you don't pay them on time but when they don't pay you back they don't think your owed late fees because they didn't pay for 11 months. Try my best to get my bill down, finally do so and then they raise it again, was at 140 a month for net and cable, got a discount for 30 a month of and dropped my cable to have my bill go down to 52ish a month only one month later to have it go BACK up to 78ish a month. NOW the 30 off deal is going away and they ditched my net service to "Give me better internet" making my bill go up again, so after all this now it will be back to 140 a month for just the internet.. garbage company that knows they have a monopoly on my area. I'm new to the area. Within first month of using their service, they've had service outages in my area for the last 3 business days. No word on what is happening or why, just whether or not I get a text when it's resolved. I've had intermittent issues and experienced random unavailability of certain traffic after each time they say it has "been resolved." read more

3/9/2023: We rent our modem/router from Mediacom and get good speeds - when everything is working. The problem we encounter is, with the router in the middle of the house, a connected standby generator at one end and a connected garage door at the other, we sometimes lose those connections. It's as if all of a sudden the router doesn't cover enough distance. I went to their website, hoping for ideas, and guess what? They're having a 'special' on router extenders. Coincidence? I'm skeptical. This is not the first time this has happened. read more

I loathe this company with every fiber of my being. Monopoly on services in my neighborhood- sadly they are the only choice. Internet speed is not what they say it is. Horrible customer service, no one has any answers and will pass you to someone else who also doesn't have answers. They had an issue with some equipment in the area (which is why no one was getting the correct speed). I had several people at Mediacom confirm this, now a month later and the issue has changed to our equipment not being current. No mention or knowledge of weather the original issue was fixed. We just moved from a Comcast Xfinity covered area and had no problems with internet speed, customer service or never had to have a technician out 4 times to fix a "problem" that was never mine to begin with. Mediacom needs to grow up and become the big internet company they are pretending to be. read more
