They have made approx 50 visits in the last 8 years. And had to make over 300 calls to get an installer to physically come to my property. Lots and lots of "falling through the cracks" type excuses. Lots and lots of "even though its because of our equipment we will need to charge you" type attitude. All in all inept, no follow through. Relies on a sub standard AI chatbot for customer service. Then you get thrown in the abyss with false hope. I would say if you dont actually need internet service and like to waste time and money, go for it! read more

I want to preface this review with I am not a customer of Mediacom, but I had a horrible experience with their customer service. My husband and I live in an HOA here in Milton and Mediacom it seems never told our HOA that they would be digging up half the neighborhoods yards. I'm assuming they got permission from the city, but the people in our HOA were still very confused and neighbors of mine were upset, as was I. Guys just out here digging up our yards with no notice, no nothing. I called the customer service number registered to the local office and spoke to a woman by the name of Teresa. She was nice at first, but upon asking if she could give any information on this event, she couldn't and proceeded to tell me she gets phone calls from 20 different states. I told her I had no idea what that had to do with my question, and asked if there was someone she could send me to or if there was anyone I could speak to that could. She told me no, and that was why she was telling me she speaks to 20 different states, she had no idea. She proceeded to be rude and hung up the phone on me. Now I understand she may not have information, but she definitely could have been better about finding something out, maybe offering up a local number to call, something but no. So if I ever thought about having Mediacom, I won't now. Between unannounced displacement of my yard and that of many others and beyond rude customer service, I'll stick to ATT. read more

Pricing for initial sign up is not clear at all. Paying $75 a month for their highest package just so I could go unlimited and while the service, when it's working, isn't the worst the outages are constant. I don't know if lines are getting cut or if their wiring simply cannot hold up to the area, but it's always an issue with my area having an outage or my eero system need an update so my service slows down. I've got notifications on and I'm not notified when the service shuts down or when the devices need an update. The only way I get notified is my house just suddenly stops working. I'm not giving one star because for the week it comes back it works alright and my download speeds are fairly good, but if there were some comparable service available where I'm at I would switch. read more

I had the worst experience trying to get support from Mediacom via phone. We have a condo in Florida that needs to get the modem swapped out. Unfortunately the agent wasn't the most polite and couldn't pull up my account even though I had the address and the account number. i have had support before without a problem, and now this agent says my address does not exist. When I asked to speak to his manager he said he couldn't get his manager because my address doesn't exist. I don't even know what to do or who to speak to. Their prices are much too high for the services provided. My internet has a usage cap, then I am charged for the overages. At $189 per month it should be unlimited. Each time I connect to the internet, I get a message that my internet is insecure. However, no one in Mediacom customer service can tell me why. I'd give them a negative one if I could. I pay for the ACC network but Mediacom made a corporate decision to Not allow customers with the ACC network to stream ACC games thru ESPN plus! I would love to write a positive review bc something needs to be positive in our lives. Well it's not mediacom. The have intermittent internet at best. In the last 3 weeks the internet has gone out no less than 10 times a day with about 15 mins in between sometimes upto an hour. I have been trying to establish Internet service for almost 17 days with mediacom at a new home. I have spoken with 8 separate employees over this period, I've asked to speak to a manager and been told they are on the phone and will call me back. I have yet to receive a call. Their "engineers" are now saying my area is unserviceable despite my next door neighbor 30 feet away having service. I used to think AT&T had the worst customer service, but Mediacom has gone above and beyond to prove that they care less about customers than any other provider. read more

If I could, I would rate a 0. If you're looking to use this company for a business, ... just don't. Worst experience, in my whole life with a company like this. We have been dealing with the same issues for almost 6 months! And not 1 issue has been resolved. I sent numerous complaints (that are legit complaints, serious issues on top of that) and was told we would probably have to still pay the LARGEST termination fee. Even with proof of false information promised to our business. They scammed us into spending more and more money to "solve all our issues" and here we are... money down the drain, and still no issues resolved. I don't know, but I've never dealt with a company that really just doesn't care about your serious issues and one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with, and I've been doing this for a long time with my companies and dealing with all sorts of internet companies. Nothing has changed, I'm stuck with this internet now. Paid $150 and was installed on Thursday (06/20), and here it is on 06/24. I received a xumo and eero360. This morning turned on TV and bingo internet is out. Needless to say, I was pretty irate. I had Mediacom years before and nothing has changed. I just thought that I would give them another chance. So, I called tech support and talking to a wall would have been better. The tech was rude and hung up on me. Yes, I was firm with him but for good reason. Get ready to get bounced around if you have or plan to get it. He stated that they are not trained for xumo and I would have to call or get on the website to fix the problem. Now! You mean to tell me that your offering a a product that you have no clue about how it works? How pathetic is that? Here is the kicker, I'm paying $10 a month for extra tech support . Have had MediaCom for internet and phone service for 3+ years. We loose service multiple times a day. Service rep. comes and says he found a loose wire and "all is good". Lost connections continue. Also: internet speed is very slow, even when they tell me I have the fastest they have. Waiting on a better ISP. read more

Every time you call to get a better deal you are told there are no promotions and offer to give you a 20.00 credit. Called to see what the hell is going on and I'm told they didn't receive my payment and to mail in my bank statement showing that my payment was sent from my bank. The service is half the problem. Trying to pay your bill is a HUGE problem. Couldn't get the online to work, try calling and only one person is allowed to pay the bill. My husband is listed as primary, so only he can pay the bill. They must not want that money too bad. We will be looking into other internet providers as I am the primary actually PAYING the bills. Good: fast internet. No one else who provides in my neighborhood offers speeds faster than 25mbps. I use 100mbps, and generally get great speed through them (frequently above 100mbps). Only reason I give 2 stars. Bad: pricey. Slow service. DATA CAPS. The 100mbps plan is currently $70 and has a data cap of 999GB. That goes fast when streaming video or updating apps. Home internet should be unlimited! This is antitrust: if I want to bypass their expensive cable plan for a streaming service, I hit those data caps real easy. Official Solution? Pay another $15/mo for faster internet with a higher cap. If I want to change any service, they charge a service fee and a technician has to come out to my house. How antiquated is that? I had better and less expensive service in Hawaii, in the middle of the goddam pacific; how is this possible? VERDICT: Mediacom has a monopoly on high speed Internet in my area, and since I need at least 100mbps (kids, etc) I have no choice. They know this, and nickel and dime us to death. It's unethical and possibly runs afoul of antitrust laws. If there were another option, I would switch in a heartbeat. read more

Mediacom sucks ass!! I just moved to Pace and that is all that is there. They charge for EVERYTHING. I even tried to upgrade my TV package and they said a technician HAD to come out and do the service and it could be 2-3 days, plus a $25 fee!!! Recently relocated and discovered MediaCom is the cable provider for my area. I used to complain about customer service at Comcast/Xfinity but I didn't realize how much better its actual cable service is over MediaCom. Every night and often in the day time, channels freeze for up to a minute or more. Tonight, service on the channel I'm watching is intermittent...going out every few minutes. Not impressed. M/C costs more than Comcast did, a further insult. In general, my impression of technological capabilities in the Panhandle are that they are subpar, compared to South Florida for example. read more

I lost internet, and when I reported it was told it would take 5 days to get a technician out to see me. Then when they do get here, turns out the issue is at a hub servicing my entire street. They totally missed "a blackout" (technicians words). They fixed it the next day, but then over the next few days would come and work on the connection box in my yard unannounced, disconnecting my internet without notice and without reason (despite my asking). Well, just paid my $200/mo bill Friday (I only have basic channels, no HBO/SHO, etc.). Once again today all I'm getting is "There is a problem with the signal on this channel. Trying again. V53". The price is terrible anymore for what you get. The two good things I've found for them is the internet is fast most of the time and it's not satellite tv so the weather doesn't knock it out usually. But it's a beautiful day today and it's failing. The only other "cable" provider in my area is ATT and they don't provide the channels I like. Our cable TV service changes to a screen that tells you to push 1 or live TV. What the hell is that after you've missed the ending to something you've wasted watching for 2 hours! How about a short screen freeze, missing what was said? Or how about the volume goes out so you have to shut down and turn back on to get the volume back. My new iPad runs ridiculously slow even sitting next to the router and we pay for Xtreme speed. We never had problems with Cox so unless you've had another service, you wouldn't know how good cable TV and internet can be. There needs to be choices instead of having a monopoly. read more

We had a storm and my internet connection was lost. Did what I could do with no results. Called their service number and through the teleprompter followed those instructions (which I had already done myself) with no luck. Got to a live person and performed those same tasks yet again with no results. Today is Feb 8, 2018. My first appointment available is Feb 13th. This is completely unsat. No connection to anything except using my smartphone which means I will be eating data at a huge rate. Doubt the will compensate. I can't tell you how much I hate Mediacom. My family has been a long time subscriber but their service is horrible.... customer service is worse...and prices are inflated.
