My doggy had a little injury that I wanted to get taken care of ASAP. I was on my way to TJ, calling the previous 24HR emergency vet clinic that I've used in the past, however, no one was answering the phone. I panicked and started calling other places around. Medical Pet was the only one that answered and even though they were fully booked and closing in less than an hour, they still squeezed my doggy in and saw her. I was so happy when I arrived, the staff was extremely accommodating and wonderful. The clinic is very clean and has parking out front. Only about 10 mins from the border. I paid $160USD for the initial visit which covered the check-up, x-rays, and medications. Extremely affordable and fair pricing. My dog already had stitches on her cheek from another incident and the doctor offered to take them out at a later date. I went back a week after and they didn't charge me anything. She got her stitches at another vet in Poway (we paid $1100 for that visit, NEVER AGAIN). I can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be bringing my puppies here for any veterinarian needs. read more

My Doberman of 7 years had an item stuck in his intestines I took him to the ER in Victorville next to my home, they charged me $1200 for overnight, they said he needed surgery recommended VCA Hospital. They wanted 13 grand and then wanted me to take him to the ER by my house at night for $1000 a night for 5 days, easily a $18,000 dollar surgery. My dad's neighbor recommended "Medical Pet" in Tijuana. They speak English and got me in the next day. With ultrasound, surgery, and 24 hr hospital care for 5 days, it cost me less than a qtr of what they wanted in the USA. I'll never go to a vet in the USA ever again. It's a giant business all they care about is the money, just my 2 cents. Medical Pet saved my dog's life and I owe it to them for the ongoing check ups and fast recovery. read more

We were referred by a co-worker to check this place out. Before coming, we were able to speak to the doctor regarding a surgery our dog needed to get an idea of pricing. We were told that we needed to schedule an appointment so we can get her ready for surgery (pre op). When we arrived to our appointment, we were greeted promptly and were called in to meet with the doctor quickly. Our dog ended up needing emergency surgery. One of the things that stood out to me was that the doctor was open and honest about her treatment and how we had the option to take our dog elsewhere since she was going to need overnight care over the weekend (the doctor even offered us a nearby clinic that provides 24 hour care without the extra costs) even with the extra cost, we were so happy with the doctor that we were ok with the extra fee which was pretty reasonable considering what we were quoted in the states. Overall, our dog is going great and we would highly recommend this place. *the address listed on yelp is incorrect the new location is across the street next to Smart and Final. *our doctor spoke English :) read more

Got a call from my daughter when I was at work, she was very upset because Gizmo (our dog) face was swollen. He inherited bad teeth from his Momma, she had an abscess during COVID and it was an horrible experience and cost me $2,600. My son called Medical Pet at 5:15 pm and was able to set up an appointment for the next morning at 9 am. We got stuck at the border and arrived 15 minutes late however they were very understanding. We were in and out within 45 minutes. All employees were very professional and helpful. Gizmo who is a afraid of everyone was comfortable. The cost for today was $110, a fraction of what I would have paid at home. He will have to have a tooth extracted at a later time but we are very happy and will be back. read more

I accidentally found this place while trying to get to a different vet, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. My dog hates vets but was very calm throughout checkup. I was so happy my friend recommended MedPet to us. My vet in the US wanted about $1,600 for a dental cleaning - PLUS extractions. I want to take good care of my dog, but I could not afford those prices. I normally take him to Kahoots vet clinic and get his teeth cleaned for $175 (non-anesthetic) but when they told me he needed extractions they could not do that. They took really good care of my sweet boy for a tiny fraction of the price. I'm going back for his next cleaning. read more

I am so blessed to have found this place. The best veterinarians and staff I've ever experienced. Let me give you a comparison of my experience with the San Diego veterinarians versus Medical Pet My dog, Sandy, was recently diagnosed with diabetes. A month ago, I took her to a Vet clinic in San diego who charged me $500 for blood work and failed to give me the proper dosage for her insulin. When she had a diabetic emergency, I took her to an emergency hospital in San Diego and they charged me $1000 dollars and they returned her to me covered in feces. I went to Medical Pet in Tijuana because a friend referred me to them. I could not afford another veterinary bill from the United States. The veterinarians and staff at Medical Clinic were so caring and professional. I was scared at first because I didn't know if they could speak english (I dont speak spanish) but they have multiple staff who could communicate in English. Sandy spent 3 days and 2 nights at Medical Pet and I felt safe knowing my dog was in good hands. They talked to me upfront about treatment so I knew what i was getting myself into before I paid. They gave so much love and care for my dog Sandy, I feel like I owe them my life. If you are looking for genuine care for your dog or cat, this is the place to go. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Bless these doctors. At the end of the three days the doctors spent an hour talking with me before they let her go to explain their observations and how I should continue to treat her at home. We spent only around 300 for 3 days worth of treatment which consisted of IV treatment, blood work, ultra sound, 24/7 care, insulin, kidney medicine, and take home medication and dog food. A friend of mine referred me here after my Labrador broke his tooth. I had gone to a vet in San Diego and they referred me to a dental specialty group. The quote was outrageously high and we almost considered just pulling the tooth completely. We came here to get a second opinion and the entire staff were absolutely incredible. Our dog who is normally very stressed at the vet office loved them, and was calm throughout the visit. We scheduled the dental and root canal with them, and they were able to save his tooth which we were very happy about. The facility was super clean and the cost was really fair. This place is awesome. We come from San Diego to this place for all our dog's needs. The cost saving alone, we completely trust them with our 2.5 yr old Maltese Poodle. He has been coming here since he was 6 months old for his surgery and every bath and haircut or teeth cleaning. To give you an example of cost, haircut and bath with brushing of the teeth is only $15 or 300 pesos. read more

It is by far the most CHINGON place to take a dog or any animal they are responsible and profesional. They go above and beyond with your dog and work with amazing integrity and care. They truly care for the animals they clean and remember everything about you and your dog. Make sure to schedule an appointment and be aware they do close for lunch which can make it challenging but their back at 3. The prices are great and they will not try to scam you unlike some places. I took my yorkie in today due to an ear infection and to get a second opinion: excellent service! They were able to give us a same day appointment and it was perfect as they close at 7pm. The Vet cleaned her ears, prescribed ear drops and we were seen within minutes of our arrival. Very friend staff; clean office; very nice decor but more than anything the personal attention was fantastic. The Vet took his time to explain the reason for the infection and we have a follow up appointment in two weeks. We are taking my yorkie there for grooming next week. The location is perfect right across from "the torres" in the Old Conquistador hotel which is now full of very cute boutique shops and this Vet. read more

The entire staff were very accommodating. I initially brought my boxer in to have a couple of tooth extractions. However, due to him being overweight and a bit up there in age the vet recommended blood work. She was the only vet who seemed concerned and mentioned we should have this done prior to any procedure. The other vets my wife and I went to were all very eager to take him in and perform the work without any checks. The vet at medical pet then stated she'd feel more comfortable doing the procedure once his infection cleared up and he lost a couple of pounds. She also informed us she felt that his teeth weren't what was causing his discomfort, but he as the swollen gums due to the infection. She prescribed antibiotics and pain meds. She mentioned performing another set of blood work in a couple of weeks to make sure things are ok then we can proceed with the procedure. She and her staff were very caring. They even squeezed him and our other boy in for baths. Awesome place and people. We will definitely be back. read more
