I needed to pick up a prescription today but I was going to arrive 1 minute after they closed, I called and they assured me they would wait for me. A week ago my local pharmacy (Lawton Pharmacy) closed without any warning. I was so bummed and wasn't thrilled about having my prescription automatically transferred to Walgreen's. Not that I have anything against Walgreen's, but I much prefer to deal with local businesses, especially with prescriptions. Lucky for me, Medicine Tree Pharmacy in Mattawan is not far from me. I stopped in this morning to inquire if they could call Walgreen's to transfer my prescription to them. They were so nice and accommodating. I was treated so kindly that I knew I had made the perfect choice. I love the store. Lots of gifts, cards, regular over the counter items, and some very unique items that you can't find in any other stores around here. They say they have your prescription, but they don't, so you wait longer than any other pharmacy would make you wait to get it filled - the staff are rude abrupt and disrespectful to customers acting like everyone who comes in is an inconvenience. read more

Usually I have a great experience with this pharmacy but I was severely disappointed this week. I had to call them 4 times to remind them to refill one of my prescriptions over the course of three days. On the last day someone on phone told me that they probably won't get to it until next week. This is a prescription that is very dangerous if not taken daily and I ended up missing 6 days of the pill due to them "forgetting" to fill the prescription. Extremely upset and alarmed about my health which is not the feeling you want to get from your trusted local pharmacy. Oh and not to mention they called my mom to inform her that my prescription had been filled instead of responding to any of the voicemails I left from my own phone number. read more

We are so fortunate to have a true compounding pharmacist in our community. Don will take good care of you. Compounding pharmacists are able to custom tailor drug dosages and the delivery agents they come in (powders, liquids, creams) to the individual patient's needs (working with your health care provider of course). I am able to obtain dessicated thyroid here with my prescription. He is able to give very specific doses based on the lab testing my NP orders. His product testing is second to none. So many of our generic prescriptions now come from un-inspected factories in China and India (why do you think the big chains sell them to you for only $6.00 a month?); it is reassuring to have someone local prepare them for me. I was referred to Medicine Tree pharmacy by Bronson Hospital Pharmacy. Medicine Tree is able to deliver. I have a friend who lives alone in Mattawan. I live in FL. He slipped and nearly broke his ankle and could not walk. I called Medicine Tree. They were very friendly and were able to deliver crutches, aspirin & cold packs to my friend.
