I just recently moved to Seattle from Chicago and went to Yelp to search for a local hookah lounge. I couldn't be happier that I found Medina. From the first time I walked in, Nebil treated me like we'd been friends for years. The hookahs are high quality, the seating is abundant and very comfortable, and it is always filled with people laughing and having a good time. My first visit to a hookah spot in Seattle and It was hard to find the location from outside but once I found it, definitely enjoyed my time and good hookah here!!! I met the owner Alias and he was was hospitable and I couldn't have asked for more. Service was amazing, hookah quality was very good and the mixes they made were amazing. What can I say, for something with such rave reviews, I was expecting something better. I have been to other places in the world, nowhere fancy even, and this does not compare. The hookahs work well, the screened off areas are a step in the right direction and the flavours are decent. What they lack are comfy pillows, tasteful decor, selection of flavours and good music. The place is also hard to find and not in a particularly good area. I wouldn't walk to this place, nor did we really like being there too late with our car parked outside this unmarked establishment. Either way, we'll go there again if we're really in the mood for hookah, but if something better presents itself to us, there's no reason why we'd have any particular loyalty to this place. read more

I went in on a weekday around 7. My first impression of this place was it was pretty clean, and the air wasn't too thick (maybe it's because they had just opened up for the night). Everything was pretty okay, the place was clean, music was okay, whatever. My biggest gripe about this place is their inconsistent "house rule." I went in a group of four including myself, and the guy at the counter told us we had to get 2 hookahs. There was no way my group of four would be able to finish 2 hookahs, let alone finish just one (we're pretty new to smoking hookah). Honestly, it wasn't a big deal until one of my girls who came to Medina just the week before said that she too came in a group of four but was allowed to get just one. If you claim something as a "house rule," then the least you can do is be consistent with it. Other than that, everything else was okay. If you do end up visiting this place, I recommend the BMW. read more

Simple, in a good way. Nothing fancy about it. Straight and to the point. It's a hookah lounge. They have hookahs, which they have great favors and knowledgable staff. It's a lounge with plenty of seating. You can buy a juice, water, and soda at the counter. That's it. Doesn't seem to try to do too much with place. Go there, smoke the hookah and kick back. The greatest hookah bar in the planet. The atmosphere is great but what makes it special is the service it provides. This place is by far the best Hookah Lounge in Seattle. In fact I have been to several Hookah Lounges in varios states but the quality of the Hookah is as best as it gets. They have several in house specials, I have tried most of them and I have yet to be dissapointed. My favorite is the OMG (ORANGE GUAVA MINT) and such a great combo that lately thats all I have ordered. The hookah's they use are top quality and they use the best charcaol too. The owners are innovative and always looking for ways to improve the quality of the Hookah, few months ago they introduced the Ice Hose, which I really enjoy, it makes the flavor more crisp. This past saturday (2/11/2012), my friends and I went they have a new features (Flip Head) basically the charcoal never touches the head where the flavor is covered with foil, instead the head is flipped over and only the heat from the charcoal rises to get the smoke going. Medina Hookah lounge, so far, has been one of the most laid back hookah lounges in the great Seattle area I have ever been to. Right from the get-go , the attendant was courteous and very helpful with flavor recommendations. Service was very attentive and nice, excellent waiting staff. And the owner came to our table to ask how everything was. One of them noticed my friends i-phone had dies so he offered to recharge it! It was just perfect. Beside everybody had a smile in their face all the time. Great location. Inside is nice and cozy. Stimulating lighting and awesome music. Medina is by far one of the best hookah bars I've been to. There flavors are second to none. I love the wonderful mixes they come up with. I have been to couple of hookah lounges but this one is different! The environment is cozy and nice.. The owners are cool and keep on checking to make sure everything is all right with everyone. The only flavor I smoke is Mint and it is never just mint but mixed with lemon or any flavor anywhere I go because of the pipe but I found in Medina Lounge the best! read more

Out of all the hookah lounges in the Seattle area I always seem to come back to this one! It's my absolute favorite, everything from the service, to the overall decor of the place. I've become a regular so the staff knows me quite well! Their VIP rooms are super chill and fun for small get togethers. Hospitable owners, soft music and excellent hookah - this place has it all. I went there on an off night (Thursday) and it was still relatively busy (greater than 50% to capacity). The owner was super courteous and ensured that our experience was great. This place is like Amazon.com in terms of customer service and trust - and you can trust them to make a good hookah. They regularly recoal and drain and ensure that their customers are happy. Drinks are relatively cheap and I highly recommend the Ice hookah variant.
