This stands out, to everyone in the family, as the worst dinner, ever. initially, it was promising. Service started well, and two of the appetizers- zucchini flowers as well as melon and prosciutto were pretty good. The calamari was atrocious. Not only was it huge rings of Unchewable tubes, it was so over salted that you got blisters just trying to bite into it. Even my brother in law, a man who will eat anything, registered It 'inedible' . We did tell the waiter, but we still paid for it.
My nephew got plain pasta. That was the highlight of the second course. Captivated by the words'housemade pasta', My sister and I both ordered it. The sauce sounded appealing, tomatoey with seafood, but I should have asked more questions, cause the seafood was octopus. Period. The word 'mixed' that may or may not have been on the menu must have meant mixed pieces of octopus. That was our fault for not asking. It was not our fault that the pasta was so thick (and undercooked) that you couldn't, in fact eat it. I shuffled mine around the plate, looking for thinner pieces, but there were few. Ugh, it was gross. Also gross, was my nieces octopus and tomato pasta. I know they sound like the same thing, but they were different. My sauce was okay- the pasta was inedible and it wasn't advertised as octopus pasta. Her sauce was super fishy, in a brackish sort of way. My brother in law wouldn't eat it ( usually, he mines the table for leftovers. At this place, he gave it a pass) my husband ate his fish, which earned a 'fine' rating. I was so busy looking for edible food on my plate that I forgot to steal a piece.
The service was inattentive after he initial order; we had to flag the waiter down or go get him if we wanted anything, including undelivered food.
Finally, for some INSANE reason, my mother wanted dessert. There was a mirror by the cake plate; the waiter looked in the mirror, smoothed his hair , then picked up the cake with the very same unwashed hand. It was all too much. read more
