Physician Asst Tim Metcalf was working and attended to me. I had an eye issue where my eye was in pain and closing. One's eyesight is so important that I decided to seek immediate help. The problem was that is was a holiday. Fortunately, this urgent care was open. Physician Asst Metcalf immediately diagnosed the issue, wrote a prescription for an eye ointment, and related it would clear up in a few days. It actually did. I went here for a wrist injury a few weeks ago. I was seen quickly, which was within 10 minutes of completing paperwork. The "paperwork" is actually online. You are encouraged to complete it at home, then go to the Urgent Care. In my case, I completed it there, believing that I could secure a better place in line. Regardless, it didn't matter. P.A. Rachel Gregory was my attending. She was very thorough, X-rayed me in a timely manner, and I left with a wrist support device. I thought all was smooth, although I haven't been through billing yet. I held off on my review for several weeks to ensure all was okay in billing. If not, I'll update. I used Medicare with a Supplement, which they readily accepted. read more

PA Tim Metcalf was the only bright spot in a very bad situation unpleasant experience. He was caring and kind. The receptionist was rude when I asked for a tablet to check in with because I didn't have the strength to stand at the kiosk. She helped someone who came in after me first. The nurse who took my vitals was nice enough but was rude when I stuck my head out of the exam room after sitting in there for an hour! Age old excuse "doctor is seeing other patients." She could have checked on me!! When I opened the door I was very rudely told it had to be kept shut. No excuse for the uncaring, unkind treatment. read more

On 7/25/2025 I was very sick with an infected sore throat. They put me in a room quickly. But Be prepared to spend hours even though they send you a text saying your next in line. After 2 hrs I walked out. Don't use them. If you do, bring a pillow and blanket and prepare for a long wait. Use an online doctor. read more

Recently went there for bronchitis type symptoms. I thought the office experience was acceptable, however the over priced medication didn't help. I have now been two days with lack of response for a call from the doctor to revise the treatment plan or at least discuss options. I find this lack of service has become more of a standard than an exception in SM. It is sad to think this is one of the top places to live in central Texas. Yesterday, at 7PM on a Friday evening my husband needed some help w a very uncomfortable issue that didn't rise to a visit to the ER. We went to the Medpost on WonderWorld here in San Marcos. They're open until 8PM but they didn't rush us at all (we were still there after 8PM). We were seen by Tim Metcalf, PA and he was wonderful! While listening to my husband's heart he noticed an arrhythmia and ordered an EKG (done right away). EKG came out fine, and he gave us a printout for husband's cardiologist. Then PA Tim proceeded to help w the original problem that brought us in. I felt that the PA used just the right balance of conservatism and caution to not rush us over to the ER but also making sure there was no immediate concerns. Went there on way home from a trip because I felt my wife had a UTI. She has dementia and she did not understand how to get a urine sample for them to test well enough for a culture sample. The Doctor did do a simple dip test and did not feel she had a UTI but needed to send a better sample for culture. My wife liked the doctor and we thought he was thorough and explained things well. We came back next day (5/16/23) to collect a urine sample to culture. They stated it would be 3 days for a result and they would call us. Come 5/21 I called as I had not heard anything and they said it would be more like 5 days for results (which it was). Called them back on the 25th and they STILL had no results, they said they had fill in doctors and sometimes they don't access to lab results. I told them it was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to a supervisor. They told me they work remotely and would not give me a phone # but they gave me an invalid email address. I called back and asked them to contact the supervisor and have them contact me. In the meantime they called me with negative lab results and I requested once again to have a supervisor contact me. As of this date 6/6/2023 NO supervisor has contacted me. Very poor follow up on their part and ridiculous that I needed to push so much for the lab results. read more

I went here because I had excruciating stomach pain and was throwing up. They prescribed me stomach medicine and said I could just go home. Turns out my appendix had ruptured and I had to have emergency surgery. Also the front desk people were so rude. Not sure if I need to mention much more. I wouldn't even recommend a homeless person receives care here. read more

Staff is great and polite, much better than the one of Guadalupe. I have a sore throat and they got me in within two minutes of me filling out the paperwork. I didn't have to wait like I did for Guadalupe(I filled out an appointment online and was still not seen for over an hour. I am posting this review here because there isn't a spot on the MedPost website to do it for patients. I stopped in at 11:30 am on 10/27/22 to schedule an appointment for an X-ray of a finger. I was given an appointment at 2:15pm so I went to lunch and shopping then went back to MedPost. I waited until 3:46pm to be taken back to the exam room. At 4:04pm I was finally looked at and sent to have X-ray done in another room. 4:10pm X-ray done now waiting for those to read the X-ray and get back to me. Finally 4:55pm I was informed that there was no break and I was informed to see my primary doctor for more help. If you do stop there to use this facility be prepared for spending some time there. I had a great experience with this clinic. The staff was super sweet, very helpful and competent. The doctor who helped me (and his assistant) couldn't have been better. They both were extremely caring, took time to not rush me through the door and out, and most of all, I was properly diagnosed and back on my feet in no time. Was in there for a Drug Test, and it took about an hour to bring me back to take it after watching 2 people that came in after me go. And when they finally brought me back to take the test, there was an elderly lady in the same room taking a Covid test. Made an appointment and still waited 2 hours. Got my test results (Covid) told them my whole list of symptoms and the doctor just gave me a packet of information and didn't bother to tell me about any treatments or what i can even take for this. Called the next day to ask for a specific prescription to treat my symptoms and they denied me. Said my doctor put in my chart i had no symptoms and denied treatment. They said the only way to get was to come in again and maybe be able to get it. Like are you kidding me?? My family had our great mother who is 90 years old fall and hit her head we just want to get a CAT scan and they close at 4 we got there at 3:40 and her face was bruised we were welcomed with "we are closing soon we can't help you" this was very rude and we were all caught off guard by there rudeness and lack of compliance I wouldn't recommend this to someone dying because they won't help you. no one go there!!!!! read more

note to anyone that has been in a car wreck, don't go to this urgent care. They will refuse you service, even when you tell them that you want to use your personal medical insurance and will pay with it. I was told that since it was wreck related they needed a claim number from my insurance company before they will see me. Even though I told them that I had not received it and wanted to use my personal medical insurance information instead. I was still refused service. read more

Went in about an hour and half before closing. Checked in beforehand and was a few mins late to my appointment. Receptionists got me squared away and in the back in under 10 mins. Another 10 mins and I've see the medical assistant and then the doctor! Diagnosed right away and was checked out with the scripts I needed already sent to the pharmacy. Last potion was again about 10 mins! I have never been in and out of a docs office so quickly whilst receiving excellent care. Will definitely recommend this office and Dr. Jesse to my local people. If I could give a zero. That's what this would review would be. I took my daughter in since she has really bad throat issues. She had already seen a physician and they gave her medicine but her symptoms were getting worse so we went to urgent care and the physician who saw her was a total jerk. He disregarded her symptoms and told her there was nothing he could do for her. They tested her for Covid which was negative. My daughter came out crying and still in a lot of pain. The doctor came in with necessary paperwork and instructions. There was no concern on what I needed to do. Staff was clearly doing their jobs. Receptionist was very rude and asked if I made an appointment. I thought the concept of urgent care is that an appointment is not necessary. She also asked me what was wrong when I stepped in the door with several other people in the waiting room and made me announce to the entire room what I was dealing with in order for her to hear from the reception desk. I would like more confidentiality than that. Now the whole office knew why I was there. She did that with everyone that came in the door, not just me. So several people came in asking for COVID-19 testing, which worried me to know how many people I could be exposed to. I wish that had remained private for their sake as well. Then I was seen by the doctor who came in and started explaining how COVID-19 works, when that was not why I was there. He clearly did not pay attention to the forms I filled out on the ipad talking about my symptoms. He finally stopped and then asked if I was there for COVID and I said no. Then he was confused and left for a few minutes, then came back and asked if I wanted to be tested for COVID anyways. Apparently their COVID results could take up to 10 days to receive, which seems really long to me. I've heard most places taking as long as 3 days. But maybe that's just what is necessary to give accurate results. I'm not sure. The nurse who took my blood pressure and temperature never told me if I had a fever or anything and didn't give me my blood pressure reading either. The doctor didn't discuss my results with me or listen to what I was asking. Finally as I was leaving I walked out and a nurse yelled across the room in the back what pharmacy to use. No one was friendly and not a single person smiled at me or asked how I was feeling or anything. Very cold and rude, and unprofessional. Pretty disappointed in this visit. I had cut my finger and needed stitches. Evidently I cut a vein and it was bleeding real bad. There were two people behind the desk and they told me to put on a mask. I told him I couldn't let go of my finger because it was bleeding real bad and again they told me put on a mask. Neither one of them got up to help me put the mask on so I turned around and walked out. What a bunch of morons. Worst care I have ever gotten. I had to go to Medpost because the doctor's office I had made two mistakes scheduling me. So in pain I came into this Medpost having hoped in vain for TWO WEEKS to see a doctor. I did not have my insurance card on me. I told the desk clerk that she would have to call the doctor's office to find out about my insurance. She told me she could not do that and that I would have to pay everything in full (although I actually had insurance). read more

We always use the medpost in McKinney and have been beyond pleased with helpful and knowledgeable doctors, nurses and PAs, along with friendly and accommodating staff! Unfortunately, my experience with the San Marcos MedPost was anything but pleasant. After multiple phone calls by my daughter and myself to fix a prescription mistake we were starting to get super worried since the pharmacies were about to close for the day. Mistakes happen and I always show grace for them, just like I want shown to me. What is unacceptable and shocking is that the person I was speaking to hung up on me. she was not helpful, rude for no apparent reason. My husband almost lost his leg and arm to MRSA 11 years ago so anytime he sees staph pop up we go to the doctor. Last week my husband noticed a bump on his back and we were worried it was staph. Since it was over the weekend we were not able to go to our local doctor so we called around to local urgent care centers. MedPost was the ONLY urgent care who were able to give us an estimate on our visit. We loved that they had prices right at the front door so we knew what to expect. Other places we went to didn't even what to give us a price. Other urgent care centers told us they had to do the procedure then they could give us a price. Thank you to the staff at MedPost and the Doctor that helped us that day. Since our last visit the staff is completely gone and we have seen no more signs of the infection. read more

Every time I walk into this urgent care for a quick visit they take 45 minutes to get you into a room, and then another 30 before someone sees you. They also make you pay before you sit down to wait for 45 minutes. Horrible staff as well, all of them are busy doing their own thing and could care less that there is people in the waiting room.
