In response to Stephanie S. of Medshape Weight Loss Clinic, Stephanie, you did not address any of my issues with your clinic in a helpful or informative way. I gave an honest review of my experience based off your Groupon promotion and my first-hand encounter in your office. I would like to clarify a few things. First of all you claim that my expectations were too high for the amount paid through Groupon ($29), what you are basically admitting to is false advertising. Your current Groupon still at this very moment says "90% Off @ MedShape Weight Loss Clinic" and also says "$29 for a four-week weight-loss program ($295 value)". When I went to your clinic I expected to receive a $295 value, not a thrown together $29 bait and switch. Instead of providing what you advertised, you state that you don't have time to sit with every person that pays $29 and it would be best for me to "...call a Dietitian". In regards to your "Custom Medshape nutrition plan" - Taken directly from the Groupon. I never stated that it was customized to me, I stated that the information contained in the document was very generic and nothing about it seemed "custom" at all. The information contained within the plan and much more can be found by looking for things such as "1200-Calorie Meal Plan" or "1500 Calorie Diet Plan", there are entire websites dedicated to providing food portioning meal plans for free. Although yours may be "Custom" because you copied and pasted your name to it, the information is not unique to Medshape and again misleading. On to Thyrolean, I would love to see the nutrition panel and I would love to see where it says "manufactured by Medshape", that is all I asked for during my visit. The fact remains that I was given very little information, there were not any bottles on display. I was shocked when I was handed a ziplock baggie of pills with no numbers or identifying marks on them other than a sticker with "Thyrolean" handwritten on it. I asked if there were any side effects, to which I was told no.I specifically asked to see the bottle or some type of information. I was given the run around by the person you claim to be a nurse, she basically said that the owner (which would be you) didn't like for people to see that information because it was their own blend. When I got home I googled "Thyrolean" only to find it is not some proprietary blend mixed up by the mad geniuses of MedShape Weight Loss Clinic but rather a supplement that is widely available through many different distributors. Could it be another lie? Sure seems like it. The worst part is that there are potential side effects coming from the main ingredient in Thyrolean; L-carnitine. One manufacturer of the product states "ALLERGEN INFORMATION: This product was made in a facility that also processes egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish, crustaceans/shellfish, and wheat products." Your so called "nurse" could have given a product with nuts to a person with a nut allergy. You may also want to visit the FDA website to review a list of their approved supplements. Since apparently "NO SUPPLEMENT OF ANY KIND IS FDA APPROVED!" So instead of typing in all CAPS you should probably take a look at who is running your clinics and what kind of training they are given and what kind of atmosphere they are creating. After your response my stance of "one of the worst experiences I have ever had" has been solidly enforced. You may want to read up a bit on what it means to own a business and provide good customer service in a digital world. Watch your money! I placed an order online for one of their weight loss medications. After carefully reviewing the side effects I discovered they were the same as another drug that I had to stop using because of severe side effects: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. I immediately requested to cancel the order and was told my refund would be processed. This all happened in mid November (over 90 days) and still no refund. I have made many attempts via phone and email to get this resolved. I was told in December that a check was sent...no check. I was told early February that a check was sent...no check. Very unprofessional place of business that obviously doesn't care about customer satisfaction. BTW they owe me hundreds of dollars; not pocket change that one might shrug their shoulders about and move on. read more

So today, I took my final 1st step towards taking off the last 15 pounds of 'baby weight'. Yay me! I figured it's about time since I've been promising myself that I'd get started on something for a while now. My son is 2 now and for the first year of his amazing life, the extra weight didn't bother me. After we stopped nursing, however, I started thinking it was time to slim down. I'd love to get down to prepregnancy weight but it seems harder to take off now that I don't have youth or free time on my side. That's where the MedShape crew are are going to help. Today's visit was awesome. The staff, Brittany specifically, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Most of them are success stories, too, so they really identify with your health/weight loss goals. They set me up with easy-to-understand nutritional guidelines and explained how everything works. I'm super excited. This is a medically supervised weight loss clinic so I feel more at ease. I've never tried the herbal or over the counter stuff because... I don't trust them. With MedShape, though, I selected an 8 week program with tons of clinic staff support... because I'm sure I'll need nudges and hellos from supportive people. They take walk-ins but I bet an appointment is better. Men and women were in the waiting room! I'll check back in a few weeks to update my progress. Woot! And I might start a blog about it. I used Medshape a few years ago. I did well with the weight loss, but it cost so much that I could not continue...and I gained back the weight. Fast forward to now. I forgot the time and money spent at Medshape, but recently I saw a Groupon for $29. Cool, I thought, until I walked in and it looked like what I'd seen before. Well, I'd paid for it so I'll finish the 4 weeks. Today I had a noon appointment. When I showed up, they had probably 10 people waiting. They said it would be quite a wait, which is annoying and really throws off my schedule. They're overbooking appointments and then patients have to wait. I do not recall that issue from my first try with MedShape. After talking with a very helpful gal in today's appointment, I do wish I would have called them a few years ago when my budget for weight loss was expiring. The HGC worked well for me, but I never made it to the maintenance plan. Gaining the weight back was my fault entirely. So many people try the HGC and fail, I just figured I could be different. I was not. The 2 star rating today is mainly because of the enormous wait and since I didn't see any other reviews, I thought I should tell people about the experience today. The staff is friendly and they try to be helpful. They just need to do a better job scheduling appointments to avoid such a backup. Otherwise, why bother to schedule appointments at all. read more

This place is a joke. When I went for my initial consultation I met with a "nurse" who went over a pamphlet with me, told me how much more she knew than the owner, who was a jerk, according to the nurse. Then she said that although the plan says to eat ONLY these items, she said I could add other things like cottage cheese and Melba toast. I should've heeded the red flags that were flying around in my head, but signed up for a full program. The next time I went in, first weigh in, not much success. No sign of the nurse from last week, although she assured me I'd ONLY be seeing her. Got my shot, went home, followed the plan (the enhanced by the "nurse" plan). Went back next week. Another new person, who counseled me that I was "doing it all wrong." She gave me HER personal tweaks. Yes, I was exercising. Nope, not cheating. So by the 3rd week, I saw yet another new person, who made further disparaging remarks about the owner, how it's all a sham, how her paychecks were always bouncing. Enough was enough. This place wasn't helping me, but stressing me out! I don't care about the internal BS at your place of employment. Keep it to yourself. I asked for a reimbursement because I was not happy with the hcg program, or any other services I bought. They gave me push back and seemed like they tried to avoid me. They have told me it can take up to two days for a refund of 12 weeks of hcg I paid for up front, plus other shots that I paid $130.00 for, and another package of $295.00 I am not happy with this office at all in the way they are handling my reimbursement request. I want to write a review on Medshape Weight Loss Clinic in Mesa, AZ because I have been a patient there for the last 6 months. This place is fantastic. I started the weight loss program at 212 pounds and so far I am down to 163 pounds. I mostly meet with the owner on my weekly visits. Sometimes I met with many different people. They have their staff go to other locations frequently. Reading other reviews, people seem to want to complain about seeing different staff. From my experience, I learn new things from each person I meet with and liked seeing different people. I also hear this is the reason they float their staff. My likes are: you eat real food, don't have tor purchase anything extra, you learn new weight loss techniques, you can follow the new app on your phone, there staff is very helpful, they care about you genuinely, there are a lot of medical staff, the program really works. You really have to Want to lose weight. Ig you don't want it, it obviously won't work. Also follow what you are told. This is the most important part. Don't blame someone else if you can't follow the program. This is not a miracle but will work if you do it. read more

If I could give this business a zero, I would. I had extreme dizziness being on their program. It was to the point that I could hardly go to work. I saw two different doctors and they confirmed it was due to the program. I asked for a refund for the weeks I did not use and even spoke to the owner of the company. She stated, I would receive a refund but I have been waiting over 2.5 weeks and still nothing. I followed up over 6 times via email and over 6 times on the phone. I kept hearing, we will get back to you by the end of the day. Good business practices are to follow through with what you promise and a sense of urgency. I called around seeking a new med spa for HCG. I have done the diet multiple times and really did not want to drive all the way to Scottsdale to the old Med Spa I used to go to. Stephanie took me to a room for my consult and in reviewing my medical history the question of thyroid disease came up. I did inform her that while on the HCG diet I had my annual well women visit whereby my OBGYN did blood work which resulted in low TSH levels but nothing super abnormal. If you are not aware HCG heightens the performance of your thyroid helping you to lose weight! It is known that this occurs while on the HCG diet. I told her as a precaution I did have a full thyroid uptake and ultrasound and none the less nothing was diagnosed and that I did not have a thyroid disease. my thyroid was hyper acting due to the HCG but that was back in Aug of 2018 and I have been OFF of the diet since Today is 3.1.2019. While in the consult she left the room multiple times to talk to the Dr., spoke over me and acted as if I was asking her to do something against the law! The Dr. took off to lunch for 2 hours while I was sitting in a room waiting to meet with him. The visit ended with a promise they would call me back on Wed by close of business once the Dr. was back from lunch. After not hearing from them from 10 am - 5pm on Wed I called them. another woman with a strong Hispanic accent put me on hold to call Stephanie. She came back to let me know Stephanie received my medical records and that she would be reviewing with the Dr. on Thurs. and that they would be calling me to schedule another appointment for Friday! Not only did she not call me back on Wed but NO CALL on Thurs either! I waited until around 1pm on Friday (today) and got the whole run around again.. Hispanic lady first then Stephanie wanted to take the phone and yell at me telling me she has patients and that she did not receive my medical docs from my physician and hung up on me. While I can appreciate their desire to review my medical records from my physician they confirm they received the paper work on Wed and then Fri tell me they have not received and that is why they never called me back? WELL the BIG question is this: How was I supposed to know they were waiting on docs if they never called me back to tell me. Not only are they extremely unprofessional but I had meal prepped and was ready to begin my diet 3 days ago. when I initially called they told me they do not require blood work Etc. I drove over 25 minutes to make my appointment all to be turned away because the Dr. chose to take lunch instead of meet with me for my scheduled appointment and then to be handled the way I was handled is absolutely absurd! what a waste of time and energy.. I would beg to speak with the doctor so he knows how unbelievable his staff really is and not in a positive good warm and fuzzy way either. I recorded the call with Stephanie and would love to share with anyone who cares to hear the truth! What a sickening feeling to see there is people in the medical field treating patients and people like this. when I shared this with Stephanie and asked to talk to the Dr before she hung up on me she said you're not even a patient of ours you came in for a consultation and the Dr. is not here today either! All the folks I've dealt with at Medshape have been awesome. I started out with a groupon experience and the results were so good, that I just kept coming back to keep up my progress. I've had weeks where the staff were so supportive and positive that I was EXCITED to go back and show them how I did. Alex and Cati are the best! They have a nice loyalty program that gives you coupons after you've earned enough points. They have a referral program that will also give you more discounts or add on services or products if you refer a friend. So, I finally decided to try out a clinic to help me lose weight. I did my research and decided on Medshape. Called and scheduled a 9am appointment...first one of the day. I get there and sign in -even though there is no one at the desk- and have a seat in their cramped waiting room. 5, 10, 15 minutes later someone pops there head in and asks if I am here. Ummm...I did sign in. She says she will be right back with paperwork. Five minutes later she says to come with me and closes me in a freezing office to fill out paperwork. I finish it in 2 minutes and open the door as directed. And I wait, and wait, and wait. I'd finally had enough and get up to ask someone what the heck is going on. But guess what...no staff in sight. I walk to the front, and again there is nobody at the reception desk. So I walk out...at 10am. So, I was there for an hour and saw nobody. I haven't even received a call asking what happened or giving an excuse as to why they kept me waiting for an hour. A west valley friend recommended Medshape weight loss clinic to me and though I was skeptical, I found a clinic in Mesa (much closer to my house than her Peoria location) it's been going well so far. I didn't know what to expect but the girls that work there were really professional and I could tell they want to help. The program is hard but definitely do-able, if you are committed to making some changes in your life. This is a doctor supervised program (which I appreciate because I have some health problems and want to make sure there isn't going to be problems). Their products and protein shakes are really good. I drink at least 1 protein shake a day, usually chocolate or cinnabun. They have a couple of Medshape protein bars that helped me through the initial transition because they taste almost like candy bars. I try to stay away from them now though because they're kinda high in carbs. I've told my friends about Medshape and now 2 more are joining. That's awesome because now I'll have more support, the office staff and my friends. read more

My wife is diabetic and our main concern was centered around that. When we sat down for the consolation they were more concerned about signing us up than addressing any concerns we had. Get our money as quick as they can. Also, don't let them kid you after seeing actual doctors, you see medical assistants, and all they do is inject you. We were assured that there weren't any side effects, and for my wife there were plenty. She stopped doing the shots and we tried to get some of our money back, and here we are almost a year later and still nothing. If you are healthy, meaning no pressing health concerns, then you can try it, but I wouldn't suggest it. We are spreading the word to everyone we know to not use Medshape, they are more concerned about sales than they are about weight loss. read more

Great clinic! I am using the groupon and it's helped so much! They have the best supliments and sell great meal bars, fruit drinks and cereals! The staff is so wonderful, friendly and knowledgable! I've been a client of this particular Medshape clinic for 3 years now. It was better run in the beginning. Now they don't seem to care about their faithful clients and pay more attention to the groupon people that come in for the $29 special. I have spent several thousand dollars here. I make appointments every week to come in the following week....but why bother. I was overlooked for a lady that walked in 15 minutes after I did today and she had a groupon coupon, no appointment. Over the past three months, this has happened to me (and I'm sure other clients) at least 5 times! And a few of those 5 times, I waited over 30-45 minutes as they not only overbooked for my time slot but they were taking the groupon clients first, who had no appointment. I am a very easygoing customer and I've been extremely tolerant and patient but not anymore. Since I have been going to this place, they have gone through countless front desk people and it seems that every fifth visit, I end up with a totally new person giving me my weekly shot. I only recognize two people working here now and those two people are fairly new as well. The turnover is absolutely amazing! I spoke to one of the employees today and she was told by management to forego clients who had appointments, us regulars, to take the groupon people first. She wasn't happy about this and she took two of us regular clients back to back today. I run a very successful business and it's because of great word of mouth and RETENTION. It's us customers who keep your doors open and you all making money....not the groupon people. They go from place to place, using the coupons. A lot of the times they run out of product and we as clients have to forego getting what we need on a consistent basis. The only thing this place has going for it is their doctor-Dr. Sheehan. He is the one that shows more care for you as a client and as a person than anyone. I informed them today that I have finally reached my boiling point and that I would be contacting management about the issues. Once my shot package runs out in 4 weeks, I am done with this place. It's a real shame too because they do have something going for them in the way of helping people lose weight and get healthier.
