CareNow : hwy 6 Assess is condition is shingles. The "Dr" was awful. Had no idea what he was looking for and pointed to a forehead vein! There is a tv in each exam room. I had to Tell him to quit watching the TV!!! There 3 hrs! With an awful staff who could not speak above a whisper!!! Never got a diagnosis! read more

Worst place ever. I was misdiagnosed and given a wrong script. It made my condition worse. I had to go to another doctor to get a true diagnosis and the correct script. Now this carenow (does NOT care now) is sending me an bill for an additional amount from what I paid. I explained to them the situation but they decided that I was lying and was told oh well. My family & I have been using Med Spring for about 6 years they were so close to home and so nice and sweet. Now they are "Care Now" which is so sad. Med Springs would bill you later Care Now aka Pay Now want even see you until u paid up. Today While waiting saw them turn away a family who son was clearly sick, the lobby was hot and the wait was longer than i ever had. I really loved this place but now that Care Now has taken over i will not be back. Update Just wanted to revamp my rating I know i said i would not revisit this center However we had an after hour emergency and they took wonderful care of us! Tomeka, Francis, and Hannah provided absolutely excellent care for me today on a Sunday. The process was fast, the staff was extremely professional and courteous, and they actually displayed care! The facility itself is neat and clean... Well cared for. The patient room was the same... Neat clean and well cared for. The TV in the room would help when this clinic is busy, but it was not busy when I went in... I was seen, treated, and on my way in less than 45 minutes! This clinic is now called CareNow... Absolutely will be on my list to go when I can't reach my doctor. read more

UPDATE 3/15/2015 I continue to be impressed with the customer service and care of this place. Part of the stigma of going to the doctors are long waits, feeling a bit neglected etc... At this clinic, we are offered drinks, snacks, my daughter had toys in the patient room and a television. This eases a lot of the frustrations you have with any doctor office. The wait may be the same as others, but you feel at home and taken care of. ORIGINAL REVIEW Clean, modern and courteous. My experience was getting tested for strep. The nurse was great. The doctor was pleasant and knowledgeable. To those bagging urgent care places that state they aren't good for much more than antibiotics... I say this; go to your regular physician for anything complex. Better yet, go to the ER. I only use the urgent care after I have basically prescribed myself after looking up on the internet my symptoms. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better urgent care. read more

It's Xmas eve. All urgent cares close at 5pm... I arrived at 4:30 trying to get seen to get a prescription for something urgent but not emergency enough for ER.. doctor could have fit me in and it would have taken no more than 5 mins probably 2 mins, but said NO.. I'll need to go to ER. So frustrating and mean. Will not come back here if I have anything happen in the future. read more

Do Not Go Here!!! TABI FATERI, SEBASTIAN, and AMBER (THE SUPERVISOR) at the SUGARLAND, TX LOCATION refused to give us copies of our medical records. They laughed and mocked us when we asked for them. After refusing to give us copies and lying about not being able to access the files in their own computers we asked for the number to corporate. At first Tabi said she didn't have the number nor the address but had a number to customer service. She said she would call to ask them for the corporate address and phone number but when she got on the line she continued to mock us and wouldn't even tell them why we wanted their number and info. As we stood near the front desk waiting for the number for corporate Sebastian, a very large and tall man, threatingly told us "sit down and wait!" When we said "ok after we get the number from corporate," he said "I'm not going to tell you again to leave the front desk and sit down!" He gave us a look like he was going to hit us or do something harmful if we didn't sit down. Out of fear we took a seat and they ignored us for half an hour before getting the supervisor on the phone to speak with us. She tried telling us the same lie that we couldn't have the records and that they didn't have access to them because they "accidentally shredded our paperwork." After 15 minutes of being on the phone saying we didn't believe her and wanted a copy of the records she finally caved and said they would have to contact corporate to give the paperwork to us. During the entire conversation the supervisor had a condescending and rude attitude and was very unhelpful. She rudely demanded we leave from the room we were having the convo in (before the convo was even over) and they forced us back to the front of the building to wait until they processed the info. We waited for over an hour as they took their time walking around and ignoring us. Nothing was ever processed. After waiting even longer we asked how much longer will it take and Tabi said "we'll the supervisor is on her way her right now!" She then gave us some papers that were printed from the chart in their system (the same system they said they didn't have access to) but they omitted the one paper we asked for a copy of. Twenty minutes later the supervisor (who lied and said she wouldn't be in until next week) walked through the lobby door and finally addressed us. She brought us to a back room and said she would "personally search for the paperwork that is missing." After leaving us in the room for 20+ minutes she comes back and says "I searched through all of our files even other people's files that we have in our system and we can't find your paperwork." As we were attempting to ask questions about how it could go missing in less than 24hrs she rudely gets up and tells us it's time to go and said very rudely that if we wanted to file a complaint against the company for "losing the records" we could. As we were leaving she said "here is a Starbucks gift card" for you as a gift from us. We said we didn't want it and that a gift card was a cheap way to pay someone off for so called losing personal medical records. She walked us to the privacy statement on the wall and said you can look it over if you want to get info to file a complaint against us. She said the policy was located in the forms that was electronically signed yesterday but as we tried to explain that no electronic signature was given yesterday she stoped talking to us and said "IM CALLING THE POLICE!" Since we are law abiding citizens we weren't afraid of her threat. She went to the back and called them and didn't come back out until the police said they were on the way. When she came back to the front room she stood in front of us and said "ok the police are coming. I don't have your files and I truly empathize with you about the lost files but the police will be here for you shortly. " When the police arrived she changed her whole tone and pretended she was this victim who was being verbally attacked and disrespected by two terrible customers. She said "I've done everything I can do personally to help this customer but they are still here and won't leave." She never even asked us to leave! She just stopped talking to us and went and called the cops!! The police asked us to leave and said our best bet was to file a complaint against the company. If you care about the safety of your medical records or even simply being respected as a human being and not being harassed then you'll stay away from this company! They are a bunch of crooks and are incredibly rude! Tabi fateri, Sebastian, and Amber (the supervisor) all need to be fired for the way they treated us! Check the photos uploaded!! This place used to be quick like the word urgent meant!!! Sadly today the wait time is 2 hours!!! Ended up in the ER! Apparently walking in with BP of 145/100 is not urgent enough. Thankfully I still had some functional faculties to call my PCP who has told me to go in to the ER. If you have all the time to wait and it is really not urgent then please go here. Absolutely loved it here. The staff was friendly and took what I was telling them seriously. I didn't have to fight to be heard about my symptoms, they diagnosed me with laryngitis when another doctor I saw two days before said "Oh..you just have allergies". They gave me cough syrup that they said should make my cough go away, and if it didn't to come back in 4 days, which I did, and they gave me a steroid shot, a steroid pack and more cough medication. I felt better that evening!!! They were amazing!!!! read more

I am writing this review to bring to your attention a rather upsetting conversation I had via phone with Dr. Wyntria Lacabe-Moore, M.D. regarding a medical claim for my daughter. Never in my life have I been spoken to with such low regard. Dr. Lacabe-Moore repeatedly talked over me during our conversation, reprimanded me on several occasions, and continued to dismiss my expressing frustration over the experience I had at your Sugardland MedSpring Urgent Care location. I never met Dr. Lacabe-Moore when I brought my daughter in for treatment and I did not appreciate her tone in addressing me. Below is a detailed history of events leading up to my complaint. I am requesting a response from your facility letting me know that my concerns have been acknowledged. A few months ago, my toddler fell and I believed she had sprained her arm. I decided to take her to your facility for peace of mind because it was close to home and I had been there once before for myself. After a quick registration, we sat in the private room and waited for the nurse and doctor to arrive. I noticed there were clumps of dirt on the floor- it could have possibly been food. The nurse was cordial but the on-site doctor was impassive and impersonal the entire visit. She recommended that we take x-rays for my toddler in order to see if her arm had suffered a broken bone. The nurse performed the x-rays and we were informed by him that there was a fracture. Not once did the doctor take a look at the x-ray. The nurse made a copy of the x-rays and a quick splint for her arm and the the doctor came in to examine his work on the splint. She informs him that he did a good job because this was his first time applying a splint. We paid our $40 co-pay and were on our way home. The next day, I took my toddler to our pediatrician and he viewed the x-ray copies that were created for us on a CD. He informed me that he did not see a fracture. My doctor also informed me that the splint was so poorly made that it probably hurt my toddler more than it helped. We quickly took the splint off, my doctor examined her and stated that it was a sprain. He further stated that my daughter did not need a splint and that she would be fine in a few days. Over a month later we received a bill from MedSpring claiming we had a balance. I thought this was strange so I contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, my medical insurance carrier. This was their response that was sent to me on April 9, 2014: Per BCBSTX's response copied below, this claim was processed correctly due to the "surgery" performed during the visit: "Reviewing the claim, the patient responsibility is $111.31. Which includes $40 copay and $71.31 deductible. The provider billed a surgery type procedure code that is subject to deductible. They billed procedure code 29125 - Application of short arm splint (forearm to hand); static." In other words, the splint they applied to her arm was classified as "surgery" so it falls under the deductible (outside of the Urgent Care Copay). Let me state that there was no surgery done as this is an urgent care location. My daughter was not bleeding nor was there a medical emergency. I chose to go to an Urgent Care because I knew it was not a life or death situation. Blue Cross Blue Shield informed me that MedSpring Urgent Care did not need to code this separately but chose to do so-as a form of double dipping if you will. (April 23, 2014, 1:05pm) I called MedSpring Urgent Care and spoke to a representative named Kelsey, and told her about the billing situation. She said she would speak to her billing manager and have the billing manager call me back that day. (April 23, 2014, 1:29pm) Kelsey calls me back less than 15 minutes after our conversation and informs me that the billing manager had no choice but to code it the way he/she did because they had no other code to use for BCBS. They told me to call Blue Cross Blue Shield and ask for another code. I did not speak with the billing manager. I emailed and contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield and they informed me that informed me that: "BCBS does not have any control over the code that the provider bills for. CPT codes also are not specific to a carrier." I called Kelsey from MedSpring Urgent Care to let her know of their response and she tells me that the balance still stands. I told her that I was already frustrated with my experience there. She told me that she would forward this over to the director of billing and I would hear back later today or tomorrow. (April 23, 2014, 1:29pm) Dr. Wyntria Lacabe-Moore, M.D. called me and as stated in my first paragraph disrespected mel. If my call was recorded, I would like someone to pull a copy of the tape and listen to it. If the leaders of your organization can listen to it and stand by the poor level of customer service, care and professionalism, then you will quickly lose a customer base. read more

I agree about everything...clean, quick, etc. But I also agree with the reviewer who said the one thing missing is medical care. Although the woman we saw me called herself to be a doctor, she didn't seem at all competent. I went in for 2 months of coughing and asthma, and already on medication for it I needed blood work and a chest xray. Because of the meds I was on, my lungs sounded clear. However the history would dictate to follow up with a chest xray and blood work. I mentioned that I was surprised and she said they could do it if I wanted it. At that point I was ready to throw in the towel, I didn't trust her to proceed. I have since run past all this with a real doctor and they couldn't believe it. Called the doctors actions "dangerous" So I think the bottom line is it isn't really urgent care, but more like simple care. If you have a simple problem...need an antibiotic or a pat on the back and a lolly...it would work. But I wouldn't trust them with anything even remotely complex. read more

I was extremely pleased with the care from the courteous staff to the knowledgeable doctor. I scheduled an appt. From the moment I arrived, to the time I had my vitals checked, it took roughly 15 minutes. I had an X-ray exam and about 10 minutes later the doctor come in to give me my results. Unfortunately, they couldn't perform the surgery, however I was given a copy of my X rays on a CD to take to my orthopedic surgeon. Total time, about 45 minutes. Upon checking out, I found out my prescription had already been sent to my pharmacist. This place was comfortable, pretty high tech and my room had a flat screen with my fave channel, HGTV. Ha! MedSpring Urgent Care - This is "just in case you don't have insurance price list" - Urgent Care Near Me - Sugar Land, Texas

I went to this MedSpring after a fall had injured my wrist. The reason why I chose MedSpring was because they had the capability to x-ray my wrist. I was there when they opened the doors (a little after their stated opening time) and had no wait. The woman who took my info wasn't very friendly and she mumbled a lot. I could barely hear what she was asking/saying. When I questioned what she was asking she repeated herself with an attitude. They did the preliminary checks and then the doctor came in. The doctor had the tech do a set of x-rays. After that, the doctor came back in and told me he didn't see any fractures. He gave me some pain meds and I thought that would be the end of it. However, they always send the x-rays to a radiologist which is good. The next day, I got a call saying the radiologist did see a fracture and I have to see a specialist. I asked for a copy of the x-rays and the woman said I could get a CD. The next day I went back to MedSpring. It looked like a completely different group of people. Anyway, this time the woman (a different one) at the front desk was nice. It took about 10 minutes for them to get me my x-ray CD. When I took the CD home, I put it in the computer to check out the x-rays. How did the doctor NOT see the fracture? I'm an EMT and could easily see the fracture. It was fairly obvious. It kind of makes me wonder about the quality of their doctors. I did worry about the insurance coverage based on what one yelper stated about them mis-coding the x-ray procedure. Fortunately, I didn't have any problems with my United Healthcare. I'd probably return to MedSpring for a illness, but nothing more. However, if I saw the same girl at the front desk, I'd turn around and walk out. I'm only giving them 2 stars because I've experienced better at another urgent care facility. Urgent care? Perhaps lack of urgent care would be more accurate. I was told the wait time would be between 1 1/2 - 2 hours, but it ended up being 3 hours before I was seen. Moreover, after waiting more than 2 hours, I asked a staff member how much longer it would be and was told 15 minutes, which ended up being 35. That being said, the staff was friendly. I'd recommend this place if the waiting time was expedited and more urgent as their name claims. read more

Service is friendly but super slow. Made a 1245 appointment which I arrived early for. Made it to the back at 1:15 after the one other person who was there came out. There is literally no one else here, except now there's a new person waiting to come back when I'm finally done. Total visit 1 Hour for an employee new hire drug screen. I'm an Emergency Room RN for 10 yrs now so I actually am pretty patient when I can tell people are busy. But in a situation where the facility is empty, not so much. Went here on a Saturday after work for a finger infection. It was still open and I recognized the name. I was the only one in the waiting room, so I was in and out in about an hour. The PA who saw me diagnosed and gave me a script for an antibiotic I'm not allergic to. Told me I might "pee it out", but if I didn't after a week it would have to be lanced. After two days on antibiotic with no obvious improvement, went to employer contracted clinic, where they said it would definitely have to be drained. I have been here twice now-once for a sore throat/cough and more recently for hives that would not go away. Both times I have been welcomed to the facility, offered something to drink, and was seen promptly. The staff is friendly and this is so much more convenient than the ER or a regular doctors office. Everything is stated up front and they run your insurance at the time so you know what to expect when you get the bill. I would definitely recommend this facility and will be returning in the future if need be. read more

I injured my foot at work on 6/7. I was seen that day about an hour after i happened. I went in yesterday to try to get some help because I am still in a lot of pain. The provider said that, since the other provider started this case, he refused to see me. In addition, Ms. Hannah Rebong (provider I saw on 6/7) released me back to work on 6/7 with a 2° sprain of my ankle...even though their staff had to wheel me out of their office in a wheelchair on that day. Fighting with worker's comp now due to the provider's derelict paperwork and prognosis. read more

I truly enjoyed the service my wife and I have received at MedSpring Urgent Care. We have visited on multiple occassions, and each visit has been a positive experience. My wife is seven months pregnant, and one evening she was experiencing some acute pain. We arrived at MedSpring about an hour before close. And while the appointment took a while (about 90-120 minutes because there were 5 or 6 people ahead of us), the experience was otherwise very good. The staff was very caring and respectful of my wife, and they tried to make her as comfortable as possible, including offering free drinks and snacks and quickly getting us into a patient room. When we saw the doctor, he was very careful and communicative in his assessment of my wife's condition. He went above and beyond to make her feel cared for and comfortable. While it was found there was nothing urgent wrong with my wife outside the typical pains and discomfort of pregnancy, the doctor called her back via her cell phone the next day to see how she was doing, which she appreciated very much. On another occasion a week or two later, my wife fell ill with vomiting, chills, aches, dizziness, etc. We saw our OB/GYN that morning who recommended we go to an urgent care if my wife developed fever to get tested for flu, strep, etc. Sure enough, later that afternoon my wife had developed a fever, so we went again to MedSpring. This time we arrived earlier in the day, so the appointment was very quick. We saw a PA named Rebecca who provided us with excellent service. She was very kind to my wife and took her time in explaining the symptoms and issues my wife was experiencing. When my wife tested positive for flu, she prescribed her Tamiflu and an antibiotic for nasal infect, and carefully explained how my wife should take the medication and what other over-the-counter medications she could take with the prescribed medication. Overall, my wife and I have had excellent experiences with MedSpring. I highly recommend visiting MedSpring if you or a family member are feeling ill and you need an immediate appointment versus an appointment with your PCP. read more

Poor service they had to send of my urine off to a lab confirm if I had a UTI, but apparently my specimen was left out, so they couldn't confirm or deny if I had a UTI. Took our son here tonight because he vomited and was lethargic after swimming, so we just wanted peace of mind heading into the holiday. They drove us away with dire words about how it sounded really serious, they were not equipped to handle a pediatric case like that and we needed to rush him to the nearest emergency room where they could do a CAT scan. Of course as parents you never want to take that chance and so we followed their instructions because they are medical professionals, why would they steer us wrong? As we suspected, however, the ER doc checked his oxygen, listened to his lungs and stomach and pronounced everything fine. That quick exam and reassurance was all we needed or had been looking for, and at the urgent care center we would have paid only a $75 copay instead of the $250 ER copay. Did I mention we came to Medspring half an hour before they closed? Looking back on the situation, it is clear that both the intake nurse and doctor were simply lazy and didn't want to take another patient before leaving for the night. They made sure to ask if we had insurance before pointing us to the ER too. I'm sure they felt that cleared their conscience. Find another urgent care center - the people at Medspring are lazy and care more about getting you out of their face than helping anyone, even children. read more

I liked this place, until they ripped me off for $50. I was there with my son in September. They made me pay $50 while I was there even though I knew (and told them) that I shouldn't pay anything - I had met my deductible. They couldn't even tell me why they were charging me. I paid it, thinking I could get it back. Wrong! Blue Cross Blue Shield confirmed I owed nothing. I stopped in at the location to find out why I had not been refunded. That was about 3-4 weeks ago. Still... no refund of my $50. I called today. "Catherine" said she spoke to corporate office (refused to give me their number) and was told I would get a refund by Dec 18... almost 3 more weeks. I said it was unacceptable and wanted the "corporate office" to call me back right away. NO RESPONSE. NO CALL. A co-worker had a similar thing happen at MedSpring about the $50. I think they are scamming people for the $50, figuring people wouldn't complain or fight back, hoping to keep the $50. DISHONEST - DO NOT PAY THEM IF YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A DEDUCTIBLE! Do not come here for medical care. I came in for a simple drug screen for employment. After the test, I was told that they should have the results in an hour and it would be sent off to an eScreen place who will send it to my employer. Great. Right? Wrong. A few days goes by and I give them a call since my employer hasnt received my drug screen results. I was given the number to the MRO eScreen office. I called them up and I was on the phone for more than an hour trying to get someone to find out what is going on. No one seems to know what happened to my drug screen results as they cant find my info in the system. After being hung up on several times, I decided to give up after a week of trying to contact these people. If this place cant get a simple drug screen completed correctly, im scared to think what their medical care is like. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

They place is really nice. However you are in there forever. And the nurse practitioner does not listen to you all. I have been in so much pain from my double ear infection and I kept saying how painful it was breathe and she completely disregarded all that gave me antibiotics and cough syrup. This was a couple months ago but I am reviewing now because I think it's important others know what to expect. I came here because I became terribly sick with stomach pain and vomiting. I suspected it was food poisoning but I was in so much pain for 18 hours that I finally decided to go get checked. I hesitated because I know most places can't do much for you when it's stomach issue. The staff was Okay, the doctor said she had no idea what it was but they couldn't help me at all because they have no equipment to check for anything. She gave me a little medicine cup with MYLANTA and ONE Zofran..I am not kidding you this is what I was given. NO prescription, nothing. I was sent on my way and was told to purchase OTC Mylanta. I thought well maybe the Doc knows best and this will be over quickly. For the next two days I got better slowly but was still very nauseated and couldn't eat. I called to see if I can get a prescription for a few Zofran to help me as I Had to return to work already. The Person I spoke to was resistant and tried to tell me I had to come in Again to be seen if I wanted medicine. Seriously?? Why would I go again for the same thing when they couldn't do anything for me the first time?? She finally agreed to tell the Dr and call me back. ..Yep you guessed it, I never heard back. That's pretty crappy, huh? I self medicated with OTCs to get thru the next few days. Considering I had insurance I shouldn't have had to. What Doctor hands you 1 prescription pill, 1 cup of Mylanta and calls that healthcare? What a fraud. read more

Ive been here a few times and each time it's been a pleasant experience I never have to wait for more than 10mins in the room before the doctor on duty comes in. They have your results to fast and never had a problem with my insurance. The doctors are always nice and very informative. This place was great! My eye started itching and getting red on a Thursday and I put it off, thinking it would resolve on its own. By Sunday morning, I knew I had pink eye it both eyes and a very sore, painful throat. I went into MedSpring when it opened at 9 am on a Sunday morning and was out within 30 minutes. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were all super nice, I paid $35 out of pocket (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and they even called in my antibiotics and eye drops to my pharmacy. I'm sorry but from the time that I called and spoke to a Lina or Nena appear to be a non-professional location. She was half asleep when she answered and she was very very ghetto. Once I got there she was wrapped up with a blanket fine asleep in the front desk And the worst of it I was that she doesn't know what she's doing. I ended up walking out. Don't know if the rest of the staff is as unprofessional as she is but I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience. read more
