Meerkat Pest Control did a wonderful job to help my Grandmother. I do not live in the state of New York where my Grandparents live but I reached out to Meerkat to help them with their squirrel issue. They responded immediately and got out to my Grandparent's house the next day to take a look and assess the issue. Meerkat was incredibly helpful, making sure to communicate with me at all steps in the process and of course was wonderful with my elderly Grandmother. Before and after each trip out to my Grandparent's house they would give me a call to update me on how things were going. I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

Meerkat did a great job resolving the squirrel issue in my roof. These guys are true professionals -- I was very impressed by their customer service, the speed at which they responded to my initial call for help, and the thoroughness with which they did the job. They knew exactly what they were doing, and confidently and successfully eliminated the family of squirrels living in holes at the top of my steep roof. Lynn and Evan were the primary guys who did the job, and they were excellent, polite, extremely thorough in patching up all exposures in my roof (going above and beyond what I thought the job entailed), and were good at communicating their plan to me. I previously used a cheaper company to deal with the squirrel issue, but of course the squirrels returned and made the situation worse than ever. I had a serious squirrel issue in one of the apartments I own in Albany. I looked at many websites and decided to call Meerkat...and I am so glad I did! Nick was wonderful! We have a 6,000 square foot home and have had bats for the past 4 years. Every July/August without fail they'd swoop through the house, sometimes four in a week's time. No matter what we did, we couldn't get rid of them. Cat's Eye quoted us a ridiculous $8,000!!!! So I called Meerkat and they did the job for a fraction of the cost. Not only did they seal our home quickly, but they also came back multiple times when the bats would be persistent and find other ways in. Meerkat never gave up and kept at it until we were sure we got this gigantic house sealed. This was the first summer in 5 years we did not have a single bat!!!! Serviced my home on 5/18/18. Arrived at 10:20AM left at 10:43AM. I was charged $197.95 for applying 1.5 gallons of CY-Kick CS which undiluted was 1.6 fluid ounces. Also applied FINAL BLOX 4000 grams which undiluted 88 grams. What this is I don't know. All was applied outside my house, lot size, including house, 100' X 175'. I was not home, but received a bill by E-Mail which was charged to my credit card which they had on file from a previous visit I called for an explanation never received one. I must confess being skeptical at our first meeting. However their price even if not cheap was competitive and better than Craig's so I did go ahead with the contract. I have had a big problem with squirrels infesting my attic for some time..earlier handyman efforts had been made but not worked out.. So much to my amazement the guys showed up on time on the day planned and went ahead with their work. They followed up the visits in a timely manner and wow, my infestation problem is gone!! This was last year, so far so good.. PS. I also like the follow up 12 mo. warranty for a smaller charge. read more

We had been hearing chewing noises in the ceiling and walls. Called for the free inpection and the technician climbed up into the crawlspace and found evidence of gray squirrels. Gave us a quote (which was higher than we expected, but after checking around, pest control just isn't cheap) and described their approach. They sealed up any possible entry points and repaired some wind-damaged fascia. These days, no more sounds of animals gnawing our house to pieces from the inside- we are very happy with Meerkat and would recommend them to anyone. read more

A few years ago I called Meerkat to address a mole problem. They said they had the "mole king.' Well, he came late, charged an exhorbitant amount - $700!!!- to put down some traps that did not work. I called another exterminator and he took care of the mole problem effectively for less than half the cost. One star may be one too many. read more

There are dozens of alias (fake) pest control websites with a phone number that leads to Meerkat (Google 518-874-0315 to see them). This in itself strikes me as misleading/dishonest advertising. I reached Meerkat by calling one of these other (fake) companies. They answered my call right away and sent someone out right away. My problem was suspected raccoons in the attic crawl space. The person they sent was friendly and courteous. He stuck his head up into the crawl space hatch but didn't see anything that would confirm the culprit was raccoons vs. squirrels. Based on the bent attic vent, which was giving the animal access, and the fact that we head movement at night, he decided to call it raccoons. The quote was for $1200 to set a trap OUTSIDE, and to put up hardware cloth from the OUTSIDE of the house. The plan did NOT include trapping any animal INSIDE the attic, or inspecting the inside space for offspring before sealing the vent from the outside. I balked, not wanting to seal dead baby animals up in my attic (been there/done that...it is not fun). I ended up evicting the raccoon myself with a combination of bright lights, loud music, and ammonia soaked sponges, and confirmed eviction with a battery operated motion-detection security camera. Saved a lot of money and did not have to kill any animals. read more

This particular business I used for removal of yellow jackets in my yard that I did not know where there I called meerkat Pest Control the name attracted me so I called them. I got an immediate appointment for the next day after I called and the person that came to do the work was professional clean explained everything that he was doing told me why they do what they do the bees, remove the nest made sure there was no other nests around and I would definitely call them again as far as I'm concerned they are the best they're very professional. No one wants bats in their belfry in their summer home (in Saratoga Springs). Meerkat came within a day of my call, set up the process, returned as promised, and we are now bat-free. Several years ago we contacted Meerkat Pest Control about a termite problem in our house. They came over immediately and talked to us about the way they intended to handle it. Of course, they managed to sell us a contract after paying them the huge, upfront initial set up fees. Understood- these pest problems do not go away all at once. My husband and I accepted this quarterly (=4 times a year, this obvious clarification will be relevant later on down my write up) payment program and all went well for a few years. Then, the technicians started to come on off months. Their schedule became inconsistent. Then we developed a mole problem in April of this year. This lead to another start up treatment fee of over $700, which we, nevertheless, agreed to pay in 3 installments, PLUS an additional, permanent $57 plus tax, quarterly to be added to our regular quarterly bill of $243. They came again in July to work their 'magic' and we were billed the new billing of $324. We paid that bill. THEN they came again in August and we were billed another $324!! The July bill for the July visit was, as written on the billing statement, "Hpp quarterly service with mole deterrent". The August bill for the August visit was, as written on the billing statement was, once again, "Hpp quarterly service with mole deterrent". At this point, in late August, we had already paid for 2 quarterly treatments, one in March 2017 and one in July 2017. We were not due for another BILLABLE treatment until mid October, and then again in December. This extra August visit had, so we thought, been due to a concern on our part that they come and look over what we felt was a new infestation of wasps. We had called about that issue and they never got back to us and never showed up to check that situation out. Was it a "Patrick" who had taken that call in late July or early August? Instead they showed up about 4 weeks later telling us it was a mole treatment. We figured perhaps that they were looking into the wasp situation as well as checking the mole traps to see if their treatment was working? When questioned why we were being charged another $324 only ONE month after our mid-July, quarterly maintenance fee, they went into a long excuse of an explanation as to why we needed to be charged again only a month later. It made no sense to us but we let him ramble on. At this rate, if we had paid the second sequential monthly (should have been quarterly) maintenance fee, we would have paid for 3 of 4 quarterly (that magic 4 again) fees well before the expected 3rd visit of late September or early October. Their quarterly scheduling had been thrown way off course by their scheduling staff. We would not have gotten another quarterly check up until December, 4 months later! I, personally, tried to explain the definition of 'quarterly' to the person on the phone but they just did not get it. When I told them we would have to cancel our contract with them, they really did not care that were to leave them. Not one word of regret or understanding or attempt to keep us as a good faith customers. We have a large circle of friends who we certainly will be discouraging from even considering Meerkat for any sort of pest control needs in the future. Their billing and visit system is really screwy and very inconsistent. Buyer beware!! read more

This "company" is a sham. After agreeing to a full bat eradication service, we paid Nick, the owner at Meercats $1500... 50% deposit. Their "technician" showed up with a 6 foot step ladder. The home has 40 foot high peaks. The tech worked for 6 hours after which he left. When Nick sent the tech back to finish "details" he became agitated and rude and was asked to leave the property. When Nick was reached by telephone, he too, became agry and rude that we were questioning the quality of the work. Once I sent him pictures of the work which was performed he would not answer phone calls. I have filed suit in small claims court to recoup the deposit. Beware of this "expert"... Seems Meercats and Nick, the owner, are experts at one thing... And it is NOT bat removal. read more

In summer 2015, I had yellowjackets under my siding and I called Meerkat to treat the problem. I paid a fair amount of money for the service expecting to have no more yellowjackets. I was very surprised to see them still swarming the next day so I called again and the person who answered told me I should have bought a service contract. No one explained to me previously that they recommend that for yellowjacket treatment. She said they couldn't help me out. I described the amount of yellowjackets that were still coming and going under the siding. She said that is exactly the point of the service contract. Yellowjackets can't be treated all at once and it's normal to need follow ups for that. I told her that from a business perspective, that's a great way to have income but as a customer, I had just paid for a service that was done poorly and wasn't about to pay more for incompetent service. They came to treat again, as a "good faith effort" but for further treatments I would have to pay again, for a one-time treatment or for a service contract. I don't know much about yellowjackets or their removal so I wondered if it really was the case that you can't get them all in one treatment but I felt like they were taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. In the end, I left it until the next season (summer 2016). The pest company I called came, treated and left. There were almost no remaining yellowjackets the next day and none the 2nd day after treatment. Now I do know better and I won't call Meerkat again. read more

Thank you Meerkat for providing great customer service in the Albany area. Being new to the city, I wasn't having much luck with the timeliness of service contractors. I contacted Meerkat on Memorial Day weekend thinking they will not get back to me until Tuesday. They were very prompt and contacted me within a day and scheduled an appt for Tuesday. They did an inspection for my mice problem and gave me a thorough education on these rodents and gave me several options on the estimate. I contacted them a few weeks later and they were on top of it. I've had several set up and follow up calls. Thank you for your prompt, thorough and excellent customer service! I recently hired Meerkat to remove bats and mice, and do a seal up. It was a big job and mostly consisted of labor. I have a wrap around deck and it was agreed they would remove the top boards to do the seal up, and put it back on after. The two guys that came were nice enough,and worked very hard. Some things were missed and I was a bit upset. The owner, Nick came out personally and assured us that everything would be taken care of. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and the job was done right. He also volunteered to trap a groundhog that was creating a problem under a corner of our house. I discovered termites in my house. Since I had them 15 years ago, I recognized them right away. The cost Meerkat charged to treat my entire house was fair as compared to other estimates I received. The service was beyond my expectations. One part of the treatment involved drilling small holes in my new stamped concrete patio which abutted my house. Needless to say, my anxiety was high. After Rob and Dean finished, I was unable to determine where they had drilled. The rest of the treatment consisted of placing traps around my house on the lawn and under my deck. Both Rob and Dean were very knowledgeable about termites, their habitats, life cycles, etc. Their breadth of knowledge was impressive. They were congenial and appeared to enjoy their job. I chose Meerkat to remove mice. They were very reasonably priced compared to competitors that offer the same services. They came and set traps, came back and checked them three times and sealed up the base of siding using metal. They were on time every visit. read more

I chose Meerkat to remove bats. They had local phone number on there sign. I was trying to keep work in my area. I found out they were not local. The job they did was a nightmare!Instead of the bats leaving they were coming in. I was told if I had any problems they would be right there. I called on an Friday that the bats were in my house nobody could come until Wednesday. The work they did looked like a child did the caulking. The owner came out he couldn't believe the work that was done and told me Reprimanded his workers. Didn't help I had to move out. They knew they were in the wrong and offer me a free bat house. I had to hire Catseye to come undo the damage Meerkat did. CATSEYE ALL THE WAY!!! read more
