I saw my friend post a picture of a cake from this place and it looked so pretty I immediately checked three out. Meet the Source is a vegan and gluten-free bakery with unbaked goods. First thing, if you are going to get something from this place you have to order online at least 72 hours in advance - this isn't a walk-up bakery that you just order something from behind a case. Everything is made to order so keep that in mind. The first thing I ordered from them was their specialty bliss ball pack with mint, strawberry, and cookie dough flavors. Each ball is packed with flavor but the strawberry with coconut flakes definitely takes the cake (no pun intended). They are small but heavy so you can make the box of 12 last a while or put them out for a party - someone will enjoy one of them. But, I wanted to get a cake. And thankfully, my friend had a birthday...so, I used that reason and offered to buy the cake for the party. Warning - they are a little expensive (but they are made to order, with natural organic ingredients, for people with all types of food sensitivities), but they are absolutely stunning. I added the floral decoration for $20 more and if you take a look at the pictures you'll see why it was expensive. Worth it. And the cake was a huge hit! Everyone asked where I got it, people had no idea there was somewhere like this. But let me just tell you, if you're expecting the cake to taste like every other cake you've had, you'll be disappointed. This cake is unbaked and remember it's ingredients are as close to healthy as you can get, while also being organic, gluten free, AND vegan. The cake was amazing, and heavy, so the small cut into 12 pieces. The lemon was subtle and the raspberry popped through more. Super happy with the money I spent and cake I got and will definitely be coming back. read more

When I found out they sell their products at the Irvine farmers market which I frequent weekly, decided to check them out. I know people swear by the bliss balls, but let me tell you it's the cinnamon rolls that really take the cake!! ESP warmed up mhmmmm so so good!! I also got the variety of bliss balls that came with mint chocolate, strawberry and cookie dough. Maybe I'm a one off, but i wasn't completely obsessed. Strawberry is covered in coconut and definitely takes on that flavor. The cookie dough one, don't fully expect toll house, but if you think to yourself, ooooh yay a whole foods treat, then your mind will be fine. I ordered online and had it shipped, which adds up fast. I did try to call and find a storefront per the address listed on Yelp but could find nothing and never received a returned call or had anyone pick up which was a little frustrating. Had i been able to just order one of each ball that would have been ideal. Still happy to support small businesses during this time!! For those looking for a Whole Foods treat, you've found it! Note there's still significant sugar in them given the dates and maple syrup, but obviously better to take that than god knows what is put in other packaged desserts! They delivered quickly which was great but they're so much tinier than they appear on their website and the flavor was not great. I got the speciality bliss ball box. I ordered with Meet the source for about $120 and was looking forward to try the product. The driver left the package at the door and it was stolen. I reached out to meet the source expecting they would be able to assist me. Meet the source let me know that this is my fault and they will not be able to support me in any way. I am used to much better service and I am more than disappointed. I am fully aware this is not meet the source fault, but now I am definitely not going to place an order with them again. Meet the Source is amazing. My favorite cake is the Kathy cake. I love to stock up in cinnamon rolls during the holidays, and bliss balls year round. Their bliss balls are BliSS! My favorite changes depending on what's in season, though the Almond is my go-to. It's the right amount of moist & hits all the right flavor profiles. Their cake batter, an occasional flavor of the month, is like eating a healthy ice cream. Even my husband, who doesn't usually like cake batter flavor loved it. (Which is unfortunate for me because I was hoping to have those to myself.) We love trying all the flavors because you never know what will be the next find. For example, we both hate peppermint flavor, and for their holiday box, it contained peppermint. So, we were planning on giving those away, until we tried them. OMG.
