We have been going to this specialty shop for years, 10 or more, and have noticed a distinct decrease in quality over the last few years. The chocolates all taste the same, despite hefty charges for specialty infusions cuch as honey, whiskey, cactus, sage, raspberry, and the breakfast pastries are bland with minimal fillings. For a while we thought it was just us, but when my sister in law from Australia visited, a culinary school trained chef from Sydney, she couldn't taste any special flavors either. Save your money and buy a bix of Godiva chocolates, even Ghirardelli. His products have become a total rip off. read more

Well let me preface with the fact that I am no expert in the world of chocalate. I was on an overland trip through Wyoming and happened upon Meeteetsie simply by passing through. I was surprised to find a "Chocolatier" in a remote location such as this. I was curious and went in. The owner was tending to something in the back and seemed unphased by my precense. No greeting, no wave, notta. I commented on the nice display of his craft at which point he now had words. "It should be nice I've been doing this for 22 years, all handmade each and every day." It was kind of odd and the tone was less than inviting I presume he was the owner and came across like I was more of a necessary evil walking into his establishment. I then asked if I could snap a pic of some of his displays. He was none to pleased with even the thought. I caught his vibe and later asked what the deal was with photo's. He replied "You never know where pics will end up on the internet and I definately will not have anyone taking pics of my customers." I was the only person in there. Nevertheless I purchased a Bailey Truffle and exited. The truffle was not bad but not life changing either. Mr. Countchocula is no Amaury Guichon and would probably be better served working for the IRS or The Wyoming Department of Corrections. No more visits for this passer by. read more

Tim makes his chocolates daily by hand. He has a very high standard for the quality of his chocolates. If you are lucky enough to get in before he sells out, you are in for a treat!!! read more

This chocolate shop is probably the best kept secret in the small town Meeteetse; in fact, it's probably the only secret. If you're headed north through town on highway 120, it's on the left... the Yelp location makes it look like it's on another street (probably the owner's residence). The chocolates here are excellent... mostly hand-dipped, flavored truffles. They usually have some molded chocolates in seasonal shapes, as well as brownies and ice cream! We were here the day before Valentine's Day, so the selection was getting a little thin. Since everything is hand made, once they run out, they run out! The staff will be sure to let you know that the chocolates will only last about a week... no artificial ingredients or preservatives means they won't last forever. I think the real challenge is to keep from eating them before you get back in the car. read more

My parents have been coming to Meeteetse, WY for a number of years for the Meeteetse Trail Regulators...every year when they come home, they have to talk about the Chocolatier and how wonderful he and his shop is! This year my husband and I went with my parents to Meeteetse. We also feel in love with this delightful shop! The people who work here are sweet and friendly. The ice cream, truffles and fudge are to die for! The shop is surprisingly classy, considering you're in a Wild, Wild West town! There is a nice area on the patio to sit and enjoy the sweet treats from inside. Sad to say, I didn't get to meet the Chocolatier because he was at an event in Jackson. Hopefully he'll be there next time we're in town! read more

We stopped by because it was recommended to us by a family member. The chocolate truffles were good just lacked in flavor. We tried the raspberry, huckleberry, baileys and mint. The mint one had been the only one with a distinct flavor. The rest all tasted about the same. I don't think we would stop in again if we had the chance. read more

Not only is his chocolate incredibly delicious- world-class flavors, beautiful textures and lovely to look at, he has a great story. It is wonderful to support a small businessman who has an obvious deep passion for flavors, making people happy and bringing handcrafted chocolates to a small town western Wyoming outpost. A friend recommended we stop by when they found out we were traveling in this direction, and we are glad that they did. It is amazing to find a chocolatier of this caliber in this small town. The chocolate is some of the best I have ever tasted! It literally melts in your mouth, the flavors are subtle yet satisfying and leaves you wanting more. Go early, they sell quickly, and you have to eat them within a few days...no preservatives. If you are anywhere close, stop here and enjoy!! read more
